Aetherite Pendent

Hi guys, I got the pendant... and I used it... and nothing happened? What exactly is this meant to do? Is it a single use item?

I haven't tried it, but isn't it supposed to teleport you for free to the friend you recruited, as long as they have the new adventurer status? Maybe it works like the minion items; you use the item simply to unlock the function. Have you tried right-clicking your friend's name to see if you have the option to teleport? Or check the teleport menu, maybe.

I've looked at the teleport menu and everywhere else and I can't seem to find the command... Also on my friends name. I can't figure it out lol.

Mog station says:

Aetheryte Pendulum

Teleport to the aetheryte closest to New Adventurers on your friend list free of charge.
* The Aetheryte Pendulum can be used for any New Adventurers on your friend list, even if you have not invited them via the Recruit a Friend campaign.

Check which aetheryte is closest, and see if it appears free of charge in your teleport menu. If not, check your gil then try teleporting anyway, and see if you actually paid the cost or not.

Teleports still seem to cost money lol.... O.o who knows.

Do you have any New Adventurers on your friend list?

Sounds like it was an item you use similar to the chocobo whistle. So with the whistle you use it once to enable it then you can select it as an action. So check your action menus for a button.

Guessing here, but it's worth a look.

Stupid question, but were you in a party with your friend when you tried it?

Yeah I was in a party and my friend has the new adventurer mark next to their name O.o

First step...use the Aetheryte Pendulum!

If you have a New Adventurer (aka players with play time under 40 hours with the adorable sprout icon next to their name) on your Friend List, you can right click on their name and select to "Teleport to Nearest Aetheryte"! You don't need to be in a party and this also works for any "New Adventurer" on your Friend List, not just the person that you've recruited. :D

Let's hope this same system will be with the wedding; so that if your significant other is in a pinch or you just miss him/her, no matter where he/she is, teleport directly by his/her side (5 yalm radius) for a quick rescue! (not the aetheryte cause by the time you get to them, it could be too late >.<)

Then count me in!

And yes I love the sprout; one's to wonders if you will unlock our FC emblems the same way as it was.. intended from old pictures? (don't ask me, can't refer to them now)

Please don't give me that overload on the server thingy..

Zentral Shroud, my Friend dies in the lvl 30 area because he havnt known and now i have to run all the way up to him, not even knowing where he is because no party, and too new to know the chat commands...

You can invite him to party you know... and he can use <pos> in linkshell chat as he can join ls as well.
If he really is your friend, inviting to party or linkshell is enough as you can instruct from there, or from outside the game how to use the chat commands...

I figured I'd ask here. I did the recruit a friend and I got the items on one character (Jacien), but my other character (Josalyn) has yet to get any ingame mail. Items on the account so far are first/second items. Are they coming in waves again?

Your mailbox may be full.
Try deleting your old "Read" mail that you no longer need (like old "Here's your Cait Sith minion!" - FFXIV Dev. Team) to clear up space. Log out and back in and you should be set. :)

Sometimes when I'm bored I use the Magitek mount and start chasing and shooting anyone with that icon, and then imagine their confused look.

If your friend doesn't know any chat commands and you're not in a party AND you're not in the area how in Eorzea would you know they were dead in the first place?

This is a nice little perk in my opinion. :)

I don't know about anyone else, But when a friend of mine joins a game and I know it. Giving them a linkshell and walking them through the basics of communication is the least I could do before teleporting off and letting them deal with Barbastelle alone.
