When is it about to start? :confused:
Im no fan of summer in RL, but ingame events are one of my faveorites!

They haven't given us a definite timeline on any of the coming events. Right now it's all just speculation based on general facts. Would be nice to have dates though.
I think they'll probably announce the summer event in a couple weeks, I'm just keeping an eye out for that. -

I believe the phrase is "Please look forward to it." :p They talked about it on their last video with a screenshot of the Yukatas so, it's coming. It may be a combination of the previous summer events in the game's history so make sure to look for the vendors!

They didn't want the Aussies to play a summer event in winter. So they tried to put it in between the summer periods of the northern and southern hemisphere.

If we're getting the speculated yukata, then I would guess the summer event to possibly coincide with Japan's O-bon festival which doesn't start until mid-August. Lots of cute girls wear yukata during O-bon, so it seems appropriate to me!

I think it's likely to be in 2-3 weeks. Thats just my guess though. ARR launched end of august iirc last year, and they had the summer event 1-2 weeks after. It was later than it had been previous years but they wanted to fit it in there so new players wouldnt have to wait a year for the swimsuits, so if the game hadn't been down it should have been before the end of august

Japan, I believe, also considers summer to start when the hot rainy season ends. So it's not really summer until the rain stops.
And yes in the old Japanese calendar, summer was from early May to early August. -

run summer events in august. It will probably be like that in the future.
The year before that it began on the 30th of July. So we're just now getting
to when they start to do them. No worries! :D -

Are you "summer starts at a different time in Japan" people trolling? I can't decide :) They are in the same hemisphere as Europe and America, so their summer is the same as ours. Its currently super hot and humid there, you know -- summer.
That said, it _would_ make sense for them to start an event in mid/late August depending on what they really mean by "summer event". Bon Matsuri is generally celebrated in mid August (mid July in some parts), for example, and is a big festival. Lots of summer festivals are July/August based.
And summer break for Japanese schools is generally late July to early September, again centered on August.
