Error 2002

I see this every time I try to log in...please help.

"The lobby server connection has encountered an error."

I've also been getting a 2002 every time I try to log in.

getting 2002 time to time . For me it usually happening if "wave" of launcher fail's was have place . Sometimes i can log in just fine , sometimes i have to fight launcher (version check fail, html error , and other one i forgot) then if passed all this 2002 can occur on next few login attempts . It's on my PC .
As for ps 3 after 2.3 nearly same problems started (launcher freeze , cannot connect to server , disconnect from PSN (last one can be PSN problem))

Hyperion seems to have gotten hit by a server crash (multiple people 90k'd at the same time) and now we're all getting the 2002 error.

Same thing happened here. From Hyperion. 90k'ed and now 2002'ed cant get back in.

now getting a 1014 error after getting into the lobby server and trying to log onto Hyperion

Diabolos instanced server is broken as well. entire raid group DC/d upon completing t6, couldn't log back in with continued 2002 and 5006 errors from everyone in the group. we are finally back into the game after about 15 minutes of trying. also have reports from people DC/ing when trying to enter t8.

Same thing for me, also on Hyperion. Got a 90000 followed by a 2002 right as I was teleporting to Quarrymill. Around 9:00 pst

Keep getting 2002 consistently after clicking play at the menu. One time my character finally loaded but got a 1014 error.

Same error 1014. World could not be found.

Hyperion also. 90k'd, then 2002, now getting 1014 (World data could not be obtained).

Same thing on Brynhildr server. Must be the Primal Data Center as mentioned.

I'm getting 1014 error on Hyperion.

Any word from SE about this yet?? I am on Malboro server and I can't get on still. I am about to cancel my subscription.

I am also getting the 2002 error. I'm on Cactuar server. Character: Hellbound Heart

try restarting your internet modem or resetting your pc it should fix it

getting 2002s and massive amounts of 90k errors. :T Been happening for a few weeks now, but got really bad today.

also reset internet and console about four times today l-lol.

same issue on Sargatanas i randomly got 90k error last night and have gotten 2002 error sense. anyone figure out how to fix this or is it SE again? i just tried the reset and that does not work. where are all the dev when you need them. im starting to think it is either a corrupted file or one of the things they put in and now its hitting random ppl. i have also noticed that the client id is staying the same which is suppose to change everytime you start the launcher. this is problem where the problem is if i could only figure out where that is i could fix it.

Not sure if I should start a new thread for this but I have been facing this issue as well. On my PC, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 card.

I am able to load the Launcher and press the play button.
The game loads into full screen. Once the full screen loads, I get a small box that asks me to Calibrate Controller (even pops if my controller is unplugged) and I have the menu displayed but only with "START; DATA CENTRE; CONFIGURATIONS & EXIT" Options. The Opening Movie option is missing. When I select Start, it loads into the "Select Datacentre" screen and I choose the one for mine (Chaos).
It then attempts to connect to the Data Centre and then fails displaying "The Lobby Server Connection has encountered an error".

Game then exits.

I've disabled my firewall, disable all anti-virus and anti-malware but nothing has worked.
I've also ran full system scans, and cleaned out a few minor malwares succesfully, but still nothing.
Also rollbacked the Graphics Card Driver to v335 (it installed v340.52 on 30th July), tried and then nothing. (This Driver update apparently has some relevancy to the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (China) version apparently, my copy was purchased in UK.
Windows has been system restored to 15th July as this was the last time it started working, but this didn't do anything either.
Game has been re-installed and updated, but still I'm encountering the same error.

Currently I'm in the process of updating the Graphics Drivers back to 340.52 and trying again.

I have a feeling that the missing Option of the "Opening Movie" may have to do something? It's a bit odd its missing and am just wondering if the game is unable to connect if it cant play that.

If anyone has any suggestion, this would be most helpful as I've not been able to feed my crafting addiction for over 10 days now :(

i really dont get this cuz i can access my account at my wifes grandparents house but i cant here. it makes no sense what so ever. there has to be something that is causing this to happen but what? just put the router she was using and got the same thing. im so confused atm. did my internet provider block ffxiv?

Ragnarok and Moogle Servers are both experiencing 2002 now as well on the Chaos Data Center . Me and my friend are unable to log onto them and we're from different areas ... A few hours of trying and the same error for both of us.

You: not with how far away it is. i have checked all setting or router and i have reset it to the defaults to make sure.
Agent Adam E: And what type of connection do you have (DSL, Cable, Satellite, etc) and how is your Internet Service Provider?
You: DSL and we have had the same provider for years. never had any issues before
You: other than the internet is kinda slow. pretty much just fast enough to play lol

Unplug the modem/router and leave it off for 10-15 minutes
Contact your ISP, and ask them to open and forward the port ranges I am about to give you.

You: so that is all you can tell me is that it has to be on my end? there are 30 plus players on the forums with the same problem

Agent Adam E: Another thing is that we do not really support wireless connections, since they are not stable enough.
Agent Adam E: If the ISP makes any changes in their system, it could close ports.
Agent Adam E: This is the first step and easiest way to fix the issue, if it does not work, contact us back and we will explore other options.
You: and wait another hour or close to it to get someone

ok i figured mine out. here is something to check. log into your modem and make sure that your firewall on you modem is set to off

.....wow just wow. i'm done with square. I'm so fucking done now. You don't support wireless? Oh excuse me i'm sorry that everyone around the world has access to wireless connections and in the homes they live in they don't always have access to lan due to range or location of modem. Wow thanks square that's a really big Slap in the face to everyone that uses wireless connections. Im so done with this company.
