Yeah, it's comedy gold, totally made my day, I can't wait for all the reactions!
Must have been expecting some groundbreaking patch. It's not 2.35 yet.
Am I the only person who doesn't have problems with the hunt ? O.o there's a tracker page so you can put it when the mobs died. Or just write it down and in 3 hours check those maps. Join an LS and get a PT going o.o you're pretty much guaranteed to get one or two sands a day with minimal effort.
This is why I never expect much from SE anymore lol.
Must be an error in translation...surely...
Totally agree, and I'm equally entertained by how dramatic some players are in their oppositions to hunts.Quote:
I just think it's entertaining how Square has been handling this whole thing.
I read the patch notes on my smartphone as I was laying in bed last night... and I literally started laughing. Even woke up my wife. It's all just so damn funny, and I also can't wait to log in later and see how others in my hunt linkshell are reacting. :D
I literally couldn't believe it. Not even a buff to daily hunts.
Right up there with the patch where they changed the inventory icon for Atma to make them easier to find.
While I'm disappointed with the lack of any changes to hunts, to be fair they did exactly what they said they would do first.
So much wonderful hunt qq. If you have a problem with the hunt system either you're doing it wrong or your server has failed to produce a community geared towards it. In the latter case you have a chance to shine and start your own ls/ts group. Excalibur has 8 full link shells working together at any given time and collaborating on TS/Google docs to identify spawn windows and scout high probability zones. Running with the community rarely allows for down time, earns mad seals, and let's everyone coordinate pulls for maximum rewards for all.
Something needs a change, but it is not hunts, it is YOU!
And this right here is part of the problem.
Hunts offer far too much benefit for too little work other than zerging the zones in packs of 100.
Its so unbalanced I'm amazed the planet hasnt tipped over..... or maybe it has.... that would explain that upside down Moogle I saw earlier.... O.o
Why is it so hard for you all to understand that Yoshi-P stated in a JAPANESE live letter of the producer that they're going implement changes to the hunts such as increasing the daily seals.
So why are you all expecting changes to the Hunts in a maintenance that only affects the NA and EUR data centers?
The big change won't come until JAP NA and EUR are taken down together.
Then why implement a hotfix at all if only 2 data servers are being worked on? Seems fallacious to me.
It seems to be that people are looking at this "problem" from entirely different viewpoints, and by viewpoints I mean servers. xD I have a character on Behemoth and a character I play here and there on Famfrit, the differences between hunting on them is night and day to a very extreme degree. Hunting on Behemoth is a war-zone, nobody waits for people to gather x.x its a first come first served battle royale....Famfrit on the other hand is completely different, namely in that its a ghost town in comparison, but also because the incredible lack of desperation found on Behemoth because of the incredibly huge amount of competition you're forced to undergo when trying to get credit at the same time as hundreds upon hundreds of other people. A lot of people aren't seeing a problem with hunts because they are on relatively unpopulated servers or the server works together, but there are some servers with massive populations that have bred extremely toxic players and destroyed any chance of newer players to jump into the mix. Kinda as a member mentioned above; on Famfrit it's possible to get at least 1/2 sands in a day, but on Behemoth it can take anywhere from 3 to 5 days to get a single sand. In the end though, this problem is ingrained into the community itself, no amount of patching or updating could ever fix it so the only option we are stuck with is to either move on or change to a server with less toxicity.
I'm in one of those LSs and that doesn't guarantee me seals, because there is hundreds of people on ONE single mob, then the mob fails to render but instead the game renders everyone else and I can't hit the damn thing. Also, if you take a few seconds longer to load, you are already too late to the zerg fest. When you get there it's already dead and asking to wait doesn't help in most cases. These mobs weren't meant for hundreds... but I don't think SE thought of just how many people would be after them. The game runs really good on my computer, no lag... except when it comes to hordes, so now I'm looking into upgrading it just so i can load a few secs faster, which shouldn't be the case. I can't imagine this on a PS3.
These aren't hunts, they are just zerg fests. These hunts were supposed to be done with 4,8, 24, etc but not hundreds. This is not fun at all. It's way more fun and challenging doing it in FF12.
While I appreciate being in the LS, it's just not working for me. I've been giving it chances, but it's almost a waste of time for the problems above when I could be progressing my character in other ways. I see a lot of negativity steaming from people because of this. To add, some people hate the hordes and would rather do it on their own time, alone or with friends only since it's less stress for them and I don't blame them for that. But for these people, they either have to be in the LS or they'll be badmouthed for taking the NM themselves. It's like you are forced to be in these LSs if you want to get any seals. It shouldn't be that way. B ranks weren't meant for hordes, for instance.
On top of that, it's just mindless grind with zero skill (like atma), people neglect the other content, less Ramuh/Coil parties, etc. Hunts need a tweak, definitely.
I don't even bother with hunts anymore. It's not worth the time wasted, and no, the rewards are not worth it if the mob is zerged to oblivion before you can even get to it every time.
They said that the rewards would be adjusted "At some point in the near future." They're probably, I don't know, looking into how to balance rewards without making it grossly broken or making the Hunt completely useless.
People wanted more open world content, then open world content gets added and now everyone whines because that open world content has taken people away from instanced content. And I'm not saying it's a good thing that DF and PF are dead on most servers but nothing seems to please the playerbase of this game. They want SE to implement content and when SE does but doesn't implement it UND PRECISELY as these people want it, then they freak out and start complaining about how awful the game is and how awful the dev team is and that they're quitting.
And frankly, I have run out of sympathy for people who want to cry crocodile tears when the game doesn't cater to their every whim. Is there stuff that needs to be fixed in the game? Yes. But I think it'd behoove the playerbase to actually give the devs time to do it, rather than freaking out and acting like the sky is falling when it isn't addressed the very next day.
