The next stage of the Relics. Novus -> ????

So what do you think the next stage of the relic is gonna be called? Due to the different meanings in the past stages, dont really see a pattern unless im missing something.

Also, how do you think the Novus progression is gonna affect the next stage, even though we'll have the chance to respec our Novus, though I doubt it will be something simple. Probably they'll have us do the entire process again if we want different stats.

Now the question is... WHY would you want repeat such a tedious task?

A reason im probably thinking is that depending on our relic's secondary stat distribution, our relics are going to go another appearance change and I dont mean the glow, but a literal transformation for the relics.

Relics with no fully melded stats will probably either retain the current Relic forms but with more glow, or a small aesthetic change while relics with fully melded stats all the way to the last Grade IV materia will influence what kind of shape that relic would take.

Would be complicated but it would make sense. No sane man would spend millions again just respec these weapons, in my opinion. How would you like that kind of weapon progression, it would certainly bring up the relic to the next level, tho I do admit I see this as a final step of everything.

hmm combine relic with all the primal weapons? since shivah is gonna be the last primal before expansion

im hoping the will change to Excalibur, Aegis etc..

I honestly hadn't thought of what could be next for the relic upgrade since I'm still at about 50/75 on my novus. But now that they have let us customize the stats by choosing which materia to infuse where can they possibly go from here? It seems like every upgrade is now going to have to include materia melding to continue with the stat customization. Which is going to get old(and expensive) real quick.

Or if the next step doesn't need more materia, will the quest just give an X amount increase to the stats you decided to go with? I can imagine the outrage if you upgrade it next and it has a completely new look and it wipes out all your materia. I'm sure they have it planned out already and since they seemingly want to make it take as long as possible with tons of grinding I just don't see where they go from here.

Well I can say if they keep the system they've made now I'm certainly not going to do the process more than once, screw new and secondary jobs lol.

Mind numbing supreme random and expensive - what comes next if similar would probably convince me to just drop relic all together. Benefit being at least they would now be rare, I imagine others would drop relic as well so long as there are more reasonable alternatives (please. . . lol).

The Dematerius - to craft it you have to desynth your Novus and take the chance that it makes a single Novus Demiateria, then take 3 of those and craft the new weapon

It uses a Pentasphere Scroll which needs Arcandrite which is only droped by S rank Marks or traded by 1.000 Allied Seals/5.000 Wolf Marks and you need 1 as catalyst for the melds necesary:

-20 Battlecraft, Fieldcraft, Clear Demimateria I.
-10 Battlecraft, Fieldcraft, Clear Demimateria II.
-7 Battlecraft, Fieldcraft, Clear Demimateria III.
-5 Demimateria of Inferno, Vortex, Crags.
-3 Demimateria of Mog, Levin, Whorl.
-3 Mastercraft Demimateria.

'melding' the primal weapons
will turn out something like this:
shivah weapon = 1 critical hit rate
ramuh weapon = 1 determination
levi weapon = 1 skill speed
mog weapon = 1 spell speed
garuda weapon = 1 accuracy
ifrit weapon = 1 piety
titan weapon = 1 parry
mirror = CATALYST

will only be able to 'meld' the same type of weapon as your relic

I hot the name would go with a Sun theme. All the achievements related to relics after Atma are star related as are the quests so ic an see them going with a Sun theme nexr

So I;m beeting the next stage would be Solarus. The weapon would all all the Atma crystal visible (in chromatic order) and would boost the stats of the Novus by a small amount, equal to say 110-20 weapons

alternatively they would allow stat customization but it would get added to the Navus stats instead of replacing the Animus stats

They already made a gemstone important to relics why not make the ingredient gemstones useful to relics as well within the same relative tiers

*shudder* but I can see it wipping all your materia basically.

six star crafting gear requiring:
- Optimus weapon
- 26 atma (2 each of every constelation including a new Atma of the Doctor/Serpent-bearer)
- 20 optimus cores
- 100 alexandrite
- 5 sphere scrolls
- 1 each of the Hyperfused Ore, White Hot Ember, Mirror of the Whorl and Howling Gale (plus new items from Ramuh and Shiva)
- One Matrix of leadership (rare drop form Hunts)
- one Allspark (Very rare drop from the last raid of CT)
- and 75 materia with 25 master demimateria

This. 100% this. Even if that's not the official name, that's what I'm going to call it.

seeing as how this game is all about accessibility, in the expansion they will probably start the whole cycle over with a new base weapon and have it attached to that 'current' content.
the excuse will be that they will not want new players, ie. 18 months from now, to be forced to do months of catch-up on extremely old content to get the second best weapon.

And there is one unique atma item per hunt monster. Two for S class.

I'm starting to think that since the weapons are from the "Zodiac Braves," pretty soon we'll be getting names closer to specific constellations per job.

Hopefully it becomes less of a grind and more of a challenge like getting the Zenith was, but I won't hold my breath. lol

they really shouldn't tie the relics progression to the hunts what so ever.

the hunts are already overcrowded, add a required item gotten through hunts and half the server will turn up to every single mark.

if thy add a required item/s gotten through allied seals then I think the should make allied seals drop from fates, if we got 1 seal per fate then at least people would have a second choice rather than mega-zerging the marks.


I could see them adding a demi-materia requirement from primal weapons for sure, they could use it in such a way that each type of primal weapon gave a different appearance and different stat progression based of your selected novus stats.

I hope its not another mad grind-fest and more rather a controlled by the player kind of progression, doesn't have to be too fast but something with noticeable progress.
