Question of bahamut(spoilers)

I have been wondering this for awhile ,but is it stated how Bahamut got sealed into the binding coil?

I mean one minute he is wreaking the place with megaflare and other Fire like attacks at The Carteneu Flats ,then after the time skip I haven't notice ppl talk about how his rampage was stopped.

If he just decided to vanish into aether you would think ppl would be paranoid about him suddenly reappearing again.

Nope. It's a mystery so far. One second he was raging and breaking things, then Louisoix summoning ritual failed, he sent us away, and just as Bahamut's ultimate attack was about to go off, a bright white light engulfed everything. Louisoix was sacrificed (presumed dead, based on the events of the Second Coil and the general rules of decent storytelling), the Warriors of Light were scrubbed from people's minds, and Bahamut was somehow locked into the coil. Was it a spell? The gods' intervention? Or was it just some pieces of fallen Dalamud trying their best to regain functionality? STAY TUNED FOR THE THIRD COIL.

I blame the Normalcy Bias to a degree. People didn't want to believe the Calamity was happening, and now just want to believe it's over and we won. With so many things going wrong at once, we also have a tendency to just put the focus on whatever's the biggest threat we can deal with RIGHT NOW, so as long as Bahamut is silent, we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

For a for about 2 months I thought that was bahamut tempering Louisoix but looking back he appeared to be still charging megaflare at the time.

I'd have to look over at the cutscenes again but I'm pretty sure Dalamud itself is what gives Bahamut form through artificial "prayer". So that would mean that he's never been actually captured but rather given form in the cage from the get-go. This may also mean that the reason he disappeared after the megaflare is because Dalamud was no longer there to keep him "alive" and that is why the automated systems are now reconstructing him.

We will surely be given a clear-cut answer in the third coil however.

Nop you are wrong , watch the cutesenes of the 2.3 main scenario. Omega weapon was built to defeat bahamut, why they built such thing if he was never captured?

So far this seems the most plausible to me.

It looks like Dalamud was indeed created to keep Bahamut 'alive'. That is, weak but living. Feeding it just enough 'artificial prayer' to keep him in this realm.

Might be that when he broke free he might have had enough aether to sustain himself, but maybe he somehow lost that (due to megaflare?) and vanished back into the aether. Meanwhile the crashed remnants of Dalamud are still half functional and trying to resume their original task, thus slowly 'rebuilding' Bahamut (it looks painful and gruesome).

The other possible explanation would be that the crashed remnants were still semi-functional and somehow managed to recapture him, but I don't see how a bunch of broken shards of (admitted, very advanced) technology are going to capture a gigantic rampant dragon primal.

When you're dealing with a very powerful entity that can reshape an entire continent by being alive for only a few minutes (a few seconds in the trailer), you'd want something to counter it should it ever break free. I'm not arguing against the possibility that the Omega weapon was used to cage him the first time, but I don't think its existence outright confirms that it was ever used. In fact, it could very well be a combination of both theories since they could have created Bahamut through their "fake prayer techology" and have had the Omega weapon suppress the elder primal while they were binding it to Dalamud.

It just seems unlikely that Bahamut was a free-roaming creature during the Allag's age and prior without any mention of its existence by any other culture. You'd think we'd come across a temple dedicated to him or at least a painting on a wall of people fleeing the thing in terror.

Ok yea there was nothing about it, but if he was a result of an allag experiment, Why they created such a beast to be the core of Dalamud? Why he has a name "Bahamut" Why its says that he is an elder primal? Also we all know that we didnt know nothing about him, also that we didnt even know that Damalud was a big machine instead of a normal satelite rock, but how, after the calamity, how did we knew all this, and from where? Another thing about main scenario 2,3 is that Omega weapon was made to face Bahamut, I meaned that it was made to fight againts him, not to "Hold" him, that has the power to destroy the elder primal

Actually, in 1.0 there was a few references to Bahamut in dialogue, including one where he was directly mentioned by name, even though he was still confined within Dalamud at the time (during the first PLD Job quest Jenlyns exclaims "Bahamut's fang!") - this dialogue remains in ARR as well, so that definitely means that Bahamut's existence was actually known pre-Calamity.

Of course it was never known that he was inside Dalamud the whole time, except maybe van Darnus (who was referring to "Him" in his later stages of insanity), but it shows that Bahamut was at least known by Eorzeans before the Calamity, and wasn't just something 'created' by the Allagans.

From what I gather through he coil videos they captured him to use as Dalamuds core, or maybe build Dalamud to use as his prison, in either case it sounds like he existed before being used as celestial core. It is only after he is somehow put inside Dalamud that he is being kept 'alive' by the artificial prayer. So yes I agree with Enkidoh that Bahamut wasn't created by the Allagans. (as for why he Allagans thought it was a good idea to use an elder primal as a battery is beyond me).

As for Omega weapon, it could have been a plan B. Or construction might even have started before the decided he use Bahamut as a battery. In the first scenario it would have been used in case Bahamut go out and hey needed to fight it (unfortunately, by the time he got out most of the world had forgotten that the Omega weapon exists). In he second scenario they might have been planning fight Bahamut, but instead someone discovered that they could use him for their own ends instead.

Alternatively, maybe Omega weapon was used to subdue Bahamut before capturing him. Unless the somehow summoned him inside Dalamud they would have needed some way to subdue him. (Or maybe they just put a bunch of crystals in the centre of Dalamud and Bahamut wandered in like a mouse into a trap :P). Jokes aside, my guess is hat I was used to subdue Bahamut before capturing him.

I'm somehow still having a hard time thinking Bahamut was summoned and free for a long period of time before his capture. Imagine Eorzea if such a creature was permanently present within the realm and the toll it would take on the planet's aether ressource, there would be no other life-form until it is eventually defeated (and I really doubt he would be just be chillin' on a beach and content to feed on solar energy all day long).

It IS possible that an unknown beast-tribe (or any culture) could have summoned him to counter the Allags, but unless they had already the Omega weapon and Dalamud planned out I can't help but feel like he would have wiped them out in a day. I still think its very possible that he was given shape(summoned, therefor existed in the lifestream and could have been seen by other cultures prior) in Dalamud or really soon after.

I dont, first think this happened like 6 thousands years ago also with the earthquake that wiped the allags, all evidence of bahamut before his imprission sure it dissapeared already.The Allags had were had a high tecnology behond our reason. They had starships even bigger than bahamut, I'm sure that allags didnt have any problem to defeat him, but given that they knew that kepping a primal's aether in the phisical form a more better solution than destroy him and having the risk he could appear again on the future. We dont know but maybe if they could prission that primal, I'm sure his possible beast tribe could have been wiped out from the face of the earth, we arent sure. But something we know is that Bahamut is an Elder primal, as far as we know the normal primals have followers, but we dont know how the elder primals works, an evidence is on Odin, he is an elder primal but does he have followers? how he reappear again?

Odin seems to not need prayers to bring himself into Eorzea, Bahamut is probably the same. Think on this though, we kill primals 2-3 times each. Every time we kill one it gets resummoned, what if the Allag had the same issue with Bahamut? I doubt they would have much more of a struggle with elder primals as we do with normal ones. So assume they trapped him and kept him in physical form so that he couldn't resummon. He could only exist on their terms then.
