Besaid, the OT thread!

Hello Besaid!

There's a lot of LS threads in our little corner of the world, but nothing where all us Besaiders... besaidians... Bespoken... does anyone know the word for a person from besaid? Anyways, there's nowhere we can just shoot the breeze and get to know each other another as a server.

Completely off-topic, but when I saw this thread, a victory animation of Lulu played in my head. I don't... know why?

Maybe we're Besaid Aurochs, we'll just be Aurochs or something crazy. Or women called Lulus or Rikkus and men are called Wakkas or Tidasses.

Currently hoping to get a really good personality and background for my character, Ariel. Considering that I have very little experience in the history of Final Fantasy XIV, it's much harder than a game that you know a lot of lore on and have read every single guide on. >.<

So how is everyone else on this wonderful server of ours?

May I recommend an nVidia GeForce GTS 450 graphics card? That's what I use... and the graphics and framerate are beautiful.

Speaking of better hardware, I saw a 3D demo of the uhdal opening events at a local store and it looked great. I really hope nvidia makes a passive 3d technology soon for gaming.

My video card is 3D capable actually. Or do you mean something else?

I'm using 2x gtx 260 and everything runs like butter babies! I haven't had lag any lag since beta, but i do turn off extended drawdistance.

Well, it's not that I'm quiet. I'm just so new I have nothing good to say. :) I've been trying to form some parties but no one joins. Gridania seems pretty dead to me. Or maybe everyone just likes to solo?

Gridania is pretty scarce. It's unfortunate. Started to feel a little home like there with Maisenta outside the Archer's guild, the Wailers and their anti green wrath masks, or goodold Juliembert down by Camp Tranquil.

But wards have called me away for a time.

Well as I understand it, there's two forms of 3dtech right now. Active glasses that have shutters and need recharging and passive glasses which are movie-theater like ones. Looks like the nvidia ones are active because they need to be plugged into a USB port.

Agree on both accounts. I started there and I usually like to do all my leves there, but when I need to buy or sell something (or progress with the main quest) I head to uhdal.

The last song I had stuck in my head was "born depressed"... if your song is better than that one consider yourselves lucky.

Good songs are okay to be stuck in your head, bad ones are torture.

Lately I've had Same Old Song and Dance by Aerosmith stuck in my head. Sometimes Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, or Limelight by Rush. Occasionally Dream On by Aerosmith.
