Working on my animus has made me realise we need one. Coerthas is much bigger than south shroud or northern thanalan which both have two.

Where's the coerthas aetheryte love?
get on that choco and start running, it's quite the adventure.
Geographically speaking it's a longer run from Summerford Farms to Mine the Unspoiled Node at 7pm than to Whitebrim from Dragonhead. They should add an Aetheryte at the La Thagran Checkpoint so I don't need to go very far to mine my La Noscean Topsoil.
Where is the Zephyr Drift Aetheryte Love?
We could use an aethernet warp for each city that dumps you outside the residential district. It's not a huge deal or anything, but it'd save us the trouble of slingshotting to do the same thing.
If you have a home you can place an Aetheryte on the property and warp directly there, if you are still in the market for a home it's a minor inconvenience to port from the city aetheryte for how often you would be normally visiting.
Also, Whitebrim is not that far. We have it pretty easy as far as travel is concerned in this game.
This is what the Aether network has done to people.

Camp Dragonhead - Whitebrim is not that long, what is beyond any logic is how Lower La Noscea has only one aetheryte but Western La Noscea has two, what's the point of having Swiftperch's aetheryte if it's so close to Aleport? Move it to Cedarwood!
I feel like Northern Thanalan should also only have one aetheryte.
On that topic, why does the Armorsmith/Blacksmith guilds in Limsa have no Aetheryte? The marketplace has 3 that are closer together, yet the one place that is sufficiently far enough from other atherytes (Aftercastle being closest one), and houses two guilds doesn't have one?
I would love it. It's pointless to travel there everytime.
The implication being it's pointless to have to travel anywhere you need to do something? If only you could just move straight to where you need to do anything. People thought that in XI and started using warp hacks. God forbid you actually have to travel a little. It seems the general obesity crisis that is engulfing western society is going to spread to Eorzea with this level of laziness. I bet Roegadyns will look like cuddly teddy bears with a bit of padding on them!
Yes.
Unless you like to sight see the Whitebrim Front, you're travelling there to do something are you not? Broaden that point (because it's safe to assume you do a lot of other things in other equally 'far' places) and you're implying it's pointless to travel to somewhere you have something to do. If this is not what you meant, specifically with Whitebrim, please correct me and I will retract my comments. ;)
No.
If anything, remove a bunch of these teleport things. World is so tiny as it is, teleport makes it feel even smaller.
My favorite is the distance from Quarrymill to Hawthorne.
When I first saw that I was like .... what is this I don't even.
In 1.0 we walked 15 minutes between Aetherytes.
Personally, I wouldn't object to having only one of those giant aetherytes in every zone (there is really no need for more than one in any zone). Then, put those littlle mini aetheryte in all the little outposts in Eorzea.
For example: Southern Shroud, put a big one in either Quarry or Tranquil, and put a mini one at the other one and at Buscarron's place.
Or for Coerthas, have the big one at Dragonhead, and put the mini one at Whitebrim and the Observatorium.
I don't mind riding the bird, but I wouldn't object to faster options if they were made available.
Because I don't find them boring. The road form Dragonhead to Whitebrim is. Seriously, nobody wants to read this back and forth for over a page. My post was pretty clear.
No matter how ridiculously easy they make traveling in MMOs, there's always someone who thinks it should be even easier. This is what happens when you design your "MMO" for people who prefer lobby games.
There's actually a background story why certain towns have an Aetheryte.
ITT: Someone doesn't like what's already a short walk, but then a bunch of "teh herdkorr ff fanz" come in and get all pissy because holy shit convenience is teh devil that is killing der MMOz!
I would like this too.
PS. Ignore the haters. Nothing wrong with convenience. I doubt they do everything in real life "the hard way" either just so they can "get the experience." ROFL. :) Now excuse me while I go wash my laundry in the nearest river.
Well some of these comments were interesting >.> there's only so much snow you can look at travelling between dragonhead and whitebrim, nothing wrong with wanting another aetherye where it would make sense to have one.
*Rawrr forum rage rawrr*
Well, why not just put another Aetheryte at every outpost. Heck, let's make walking absolutely obsolete while we're at it. *Open menu* *Teleport to GC* or *Open menu* *Teleport to mender*, *Open menu* *Teleport to Rowena*
they didn't make aetherite in every outpost, but they made chocobos that brings you in every outpost where there's no aetherite, while you finish eat your pizza.
they cost 60/80 gil, bummer.

So your initial argument was it's stupid to have to run to Whitebrim every time you need to do something there, yet it'd be fine to run to other locations of longer distance because they're not boring? You are clutching at straws a little. It might have just been easier to say "You have a point" or "Then they should add them to more locations" than come up with this pathetic defense for your laziness.
Snow, lava, thunderstorms, chocolate wonderland... How the environment is should not determine where we should and shouldn't get an aetheryte. The bottom line is the run from Dragonhead to Whitebrim is one of the least used (quests, levequests and gathering at the Mistletoe Unspoiled Botany Node) runs with the shortest distance, yet it's being singled out for an Aetheryte. There are places we go to far more often that take far longer to run to. And where would it stop? Why don't we just add an Aetheryte to every location we'll ever do something at.
Good grief, transportation is already too fast and you want more aetheryte?
Once western Coerthas is unlocked, I would honestly expect Riversmeet aetheryte to be on the edge of the zone. makes up for that travel a bit. Please look forward to it.
Auto-Run. It is your friend. Seriously, it's very nearly a straight shot from Dragonhead to Camp Whitebrim, and when on your choco, hardly anything can touch you. If you're really worried about getting Heavy'd while riding, just dismount, hit sprint, and run there instead.
Honestly, I feel the game's Aetheryte Network is just fine as it is, if a little bit wonky in places (Swiftperch doesn't need an aetheryte, Red Rooster Stead does). What I think the game DOES need, is a more complete Chocobo Porter network. Seriously, there are several locations with Chocobo Porters that, for whatever reason, aren't connected to the relevant city node, like Gold Bazaar or Buscarron's Druther. I know it's faster to just teleport and cheaper to ride there yourself, but sometimes I just want to hop onto a 'taxi' and go and make myself a sammich or take a break or something while the game does the 'hard' work for me.
Possibly an instinct from back when I played WoW, which didn't have any instantaneous teleportation, unless you were a Mage...
I actually pay the porter to take me to Whitebrim :o
I kinda wish porters actually went to more places, I hate how half the time they don't go where I think they should.
Jesus I don't know why people bother suggesting anything with all these misery guts around
It'd be nice for the sake of laziness. I do question why there's a Swiftperch Aetheryte though... it's a 30sec mount run, where Aleport is almost the center point of the map. There's really nothing truly worthwhile at Swiftperch that would deem an Aetheryte actually meaningful. As far as Aetherytes being useless is concerned, Swiftperch is probably one of them. Should have probably gone to Lower La Noscea, given that Moraby Drydocks is at the very bottom of a somewhat linear map layout.
I think the reason people want another Aetheryte in Coerthas is because if there is something of interest going on at the left side of the map be it Behemoth or an Elite Hunt, you just want to teleport to the Camp on the left (the name escapes me at the moment) from anywhere in Eorzea and ride your way to the spot before it is gone. It's happened to me before where I try to run to get to Behemoth or the Elite Hunt, but it gets killed before I get there. I don't think there is any other reason than that to get an Aetheryte on the left side of the map.
That's a bit rich, kiddo. I'm not the one getting salty because somebody is questioning my opinion.
I just want to know why Whitebrim is so special. My original point was, "If we add one to Whitebrim, why not everywhere else we go to?" I was met with needless hostility and honestly, have been from you since... Even when I was simply trying to reiterate my point. But whatever. Tell me I'm being the smartass. Award me internets. Just blanket replies to cover up the fact you clearly have no reasoning behind your argument other than "I can't be arsed to run!". Six replies, and still no answer at all to the original question. Can't help but find the above quoted post a bit rich considering how many times I've tried to get a straight answer out of you. ;)
This little back and fourth has been going on for the entire thread. Lets please relax so it doesn't end up being locked and everyone can have their say. I mean, there is a remove the ability to tele thread, so it only makes sense that someone would eventually make this plea.
