[Suggestion] Elite Mark Spawn Invulnerability

I've got a simple idea to combat against the instant pulling and pre-mature death of Elite Marks before everyone that likes to kill it reaches the area in a short time.

Once an Elite Mark spawns have it be invulnerable to all damage and unable to aggro for 5 minutes. 5 minutes is plenty of time to have everyone call upon their Linkshells to get to the Elite Mark without having to fear that Elite Mark will be pulled, and worse, killed before they reach it.

Seeing as how many people show up in the first 1-2 minutes, having that much time to teleport and run to the mark is going to be bad for the stability of that area, and also those who get there late. No thanks. Hunts need a lot of changes but this is not one of them.

Above suggest was not enough, how about if someone know it after 3min?
So to enhance above suggestion, simply just turn the mark into a green-name NPC by engaging, and it will stay there for n minutes, meanwhile a system message with <t> <pos> would be boradcasted to entire server. ^^;

On some of these maps, 1-2 minutes is barely enough time to mount up and shout for a party invite (if not already in one), and that includes a quick teleport to an aetheryte as a shortcut (e.g. Southern Thanalan). I honestly think 3-4 minutes is a bit more realistic for many of these marks.

Zone stability? Yes, there's that too, Dotsu, at least until the zerg-style rushing will become less common. Frankly, I'm impressed than the area (and the client) can hold up during some of those horde moments...

Ahem... I digress. I think five minutes is indeed a lot of time, but three might be a fair compromise unless the devs resort to other measures such as instancing, preliminary requisites (clearing lesser mobs, needing an elite permit, or even tweaks to the enemy AI). So, I think Eric's take on Militaratus's idea is reasonable.

Elite Mark early pulls are bittersweet. It gets you mad, but it makes it a whole lot more rewarding when you actually make it to a mark before the dumb dragoon pulls. Besides, it actually adds a difficulty aspect to the hunt, rather than just smashing your face on the keyboard while fighting the mark. SE shouldn't have to spoon feed us by making sure everyone gets the marks. Racing there ASAP is part of the fun!

I don't see a particular downside to a 5 minute timer after it spawns to be able to attack the Hunt mob. Might help encourage more cooperation about the mobs.

Mind you I would sorta like a "if you hit it you get full credit" system to go with that as well, which makes others players not a bad thing at that B rank. I spam medica 2 enough trying not to kill the mobs so others can get credit.

Burning out on them already.

In Sargatanas, we have a huge problem with early pullers in the afternoon. These people simply have a goal of annoying others which is not only ill mannered, it is practically mass harassment. I am not sure how much Square Enix will care on this matter, but I beg that this issue can be reasonably resolved. As soon as an elite mark spawns, it should be put on a 2 to 3 minute immunity timer so groups can actually arrive. Those who miss the time frame will only be their fault from that point on.

I have tried diplomatic approaches to this, and they just do not work. Such approaches being to ask people to wait; tell others that if pulled, to not dps while healers build up enmity for full credit, and even attempting to have whole party to stick together in a zone so that one person can port to stay singular. I did these approaches cause I do care what the majority would want, but it only takes a single person to place doubt in their minds.

None of this is necessary. Elite Marks aren't intended for the whole server to come and kill them. B-ranks are for solo/Light Party. A-Rank are for Full Party. S-Rank are for zone-wide shout.

You're all trying to turn the Hunt into more Behemoth/Odin, which they were never meant to be in the first place. So consider this a dissenting opinion, because it is.

I think the S and A mobs should have a timer before they become attackable. But if they would have such a Timer, chance is high that you can't target it because of the many people that made it there. So not sure if there will ever be a solution for it.

While I agree what you describe is the intended design and mechanic.
I disagree that the actual mechanics reward following the intended mechanic.

The actual mechanics reward linkshelling up and having a group of 40 plus land on even the B ranks. This tactic greatly increases the cooperative players allied seal income, assuming they can get in the zerg information chain.

On my server getting in the information chain is not difficult, other servers will have a different play experience.

The easiest way to bring down the number of players hunting/pre-pulling or whatever else is simply putting a cap on Allied seals. Because you can buy sands/oils through them, they make it THE best way to upgrade. Capping the seals will still allow players needing myth/soldiery to participate, without tearing massive amounts of players from the rest of the game content. Because let me tell you, it's fun waiting 20min on PF or DF as a healer to get into anything.
