new adventurer status keeps returning....why?

okay so I decided to make a new character and that stupid sprout symbol that says you're a new adventurer wont go away....wtf devs?
why cant we just turn this off without waiting 40 hours? or are you just assuming that only new accounts will be making new characters?

cmon SE fix this. its annoying

how about you actually learn what I'm talking about before tossing insults.
the new adventurer status returns EVERY SINGLE TIME you zone for the first 40 hours and you cant remove it permanently before then
I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels it rather stupid to have to change it every time they zone

go to party and edit yourself, where you can also change to AFK and etc...

when it was first added a new player would have to edit it onto themselves, but after seeing so many new players with it.
I guess it's just automatic.

Yup..it's as if they don't even care about us experienced players....>_> honestly with all the stuff they have to do something about from RMT to clipping all the way to hunts and everything in between this should be one of the last things in their mind.

oh good someone else who only sees what they want to see.

I was referring to this new adventurer feature that was implimented badly(if they can impliment new adventurer properly in FFXI I refuse to believe they can't do it properly here too) and you assume I mean the whole game.

I think it would be easier if the 40 hour flag was displayed on the character selection screen and shared across all data centers and servers. Once that initial 40hr clock ticks down, existing and new characters tied to the account can't have the new status by any means.

They should simply remove that the sign comes back after zoning after the first status change...

My life would be so much better, if i had all your problems.

But the sprout icon is so cute! I wish I could use it...

Hey guys, looking through the forums today and came across this one, just wanted to clear some things up as to why Square has structured the game this way despite you being a vet player and not a new adventurer.

So with the Recruit a friend program both the friend and recruiter receive the ability to port themselves to the nearest crystal of any "new adventurer" or sprout that is in their friends list. So the reason that you are made to have such status despite being veteran is that this allows those people to see your in the first 40 hours of game play on that character and if you would like to friend and quest with them, they will be able to use this feature and know visually once it has expired use with your new char.

You can't turn off the sprout until you have X Hours under your belt. The sprout returns when you change areas even if you manually turn it off.

We are sorry to hear that the new adventurer status is not very clear.

With patch 3.25, the duration of the ''New Adventurer'' status has been changed from 40 hours to 168 hours. The level of the character does not play a role there.

If you wish to permanently turn the status off, please use the following command:
/nastatus off
