How to fix hunts. Serious proposal.

The real problem behind hunts is the fact that they trivialize the rewards of the rest of the content AND monopolize the only way outside SCoB to get sands/oil of time.

Simple solution: allow blood spattered mark logs to be bought with 800 mythologies. That would mean 2400 mythologies for each sands and 1600 mythologies for each oil.

This would split the community into those who would prefer to get sands and oil via myth farming and those who would want to do it via hunts. We are in a "catch up" phase where SE clearly wants us to start gearing ourselves with the highest tier stuff because new one is going to be implemented "soon". Let simply people do this "catch up process" the way the enjoy most FFXIV (be it hunts or dungeons/trials/raids/roulettes).

Suddenly 90% of the server is not going after these things and we no longer have abnormal queue times because everybody has lost interest in everything given the abyssmal reward hunts provide over the rest of the content.

Remember, why was the Atma terrible? Because the ONLY way to obtain all 12 atmas was a massive fate grindfest. Why is the Novus grind FAR more bearable? Because SE gave ALTERNATIVES as to how obtain these alexandrites.

This could make sense if hunts weren't also the fastest way to get myth as well. Yes, you introduce an alternative, but you have also made the hunts even better then they already are.

I very much agree that this would be a good fix. But as Cyoung has said, that hunts are also the "fastest" way to get myth. I feel it would be more obtainable but at the same time make even more people want to hunt. Though i do like the idea of making the logs buyable with myth

Basically do what OP said WHILE nerfing myth/soldier hunt drops.

I agree that the best way to "fix" hunts is to allow people to get the mark logs as efficiently as hunts from somewhere else.

This is a fine solution.

They're not going to do that because increased myth/sold was their way of adjusting the Animus books.

Why would people use a method with a weekly lock out over one without? All you've done is make a system no one would use.

Perhaps a daily mark log for helping new players defeat harder content like Ex primals or twintania. You could get 1 log a day.

That's just untrue, plenty of people would use it. I've got three Jobs over i100 & a good amount of HA gear, at this point I'm just kind of doing whatever with my Soldiery.

More Sands for the pure sake of dyeing whatever Soldiery gear I have is a welcome Soldiery expense in my book.

This has been done to death now. SE has deleted most of the Hunt threads (too much negativity? mostly bad press, not enough good?).
Concerns haven't been addressed, only that daily bills will be considered for a reward increase.
Nothing suggested/implemented to break up the stupid zerg that never sleeps. Why is the zerg allowed to farm the weekly mob every day and people who need their weekly can't even get a look in for a measly once off kill for 5+20 seals?
Why are people who zerg The Hunt given abundance of free Sands but people who prefer to do T8 can't get it due to the once a week chance at 12.5% RNG?
Why are people allowed to abuse the system using illegal means that SE can't detect? Wouldn't that be considered game breaking and time to change the system?

HUnts is the best source for Myth.

So people will not only get a ridiculous amount of seals for sands but also myth to buy more sand.

Some have said it will make hunt better, but I think they increased marks HP just for hunt better?
IMO the proposal doesn't defeat any things that are "working as intended" but resolves some root problems.
It is the best solution I have seen, and it is easy to implement. ^^;

As I've stated in another thread

A) reduce tome and seal rewards for open-world kills
B) increase tome and seal rewards for GC-issue kills
C) remove oils and sands from being obtainable through the hunt system

The best way to fix hunts is to get rid of them. The game was 'fine' before the implementation of the piss poor mechanic. The last thing this game needs is to be continually over saturated with shoddy time sinks. The Devs have lost their minds when they start thinking that the Atma and Novus grinds alongside Hunts are acceptable and quality improvements.

I can actually really get behind this, but unless it was mandatory to have a new player in the group you'd just have experienced players jump in together, and if it was mandatory I can almost guarantee you one group of people wouldn't do it because they don't want to struggle through trying to get newcomers skilled enough and the other group won't want to because they can't find someone at their time of day who needs what they have to offer.

Anyway, yes, alternative methods to the major rewards to Hunts would be an alleviation of the problem. However, so long as there's no cap to the amount of farming of limited-supply content... welp.

put a weekly cap on allied seals and reward it for daily roulettes ... problem solved

I think locking the sand and oil availability to one a week would calm it down a great deal. Also decrease the amount of myth and soldiery dropped. If they made the logs drop from dgn bosses (rare drop) this could also help.

hunts would be the faster alternative, your idea is not bad but it would require another move, fully removing myths from hunts, or ppl will keep doing hunts to get sand and oils from the 2 sources at the same time.

Making these changes will fix hunts but bring other problems like people complaining about how they didn't have a chance to abuse the system before it was fixed. Either way i think i rather have those problems then the ones currently going on right now

I'm sorry you caught my hyperbole. Yes, people would use it, an exceedingly small amount of particular people however would choose it over hunts. Face it most people farming hunts like crazy are using SOL to buy their gear.
