Water Mounts

Can we have some boat mounts to use on water. Not requesting swim feature but a feature to go on a dock or beach and call on a boat mount.

Game has flat terrain under the water so this game isn't designed yet for swimming or diving. Could just boat on top of it. I have been out of zone in a few areas and they just require some tweaks & limitations to them.
Some locations, mainly just backgrounds will need to be improved and collision detection would also need to be added & new spots.

List of things they should look into:

#1 Add new areas we can only reach with using a boat mount.
#2 Add option to cast fishing rod from the boat. (Only using boats.)
#3 Add boat mini game. Can add Cannons to your boat etc.
#4 Add water based mounts. Cavalry Elbst mount can be used on Water & Land.
#5 Can only dismount/mount next to a dock or beach.
#6 Remove some options to travel using a ferry to jump across the map.
#7 Limit how far out you can go out with a boat mount. Put Barriers to prevent players going off the map or too far out.
#8 Add new fishing locations.
#9 Add new landmarks/locations to explore.
#10 Remove Jump from boats.
#11 Add wave effect when your mount is moving forward through water.
#12 When logging back into the game if your still in the water you will load on your mount.
#13 Cavalry Elbst mount doesn't need to be dismounted/mounted next to a beach in order to enter water. It can cross into it by running into the beach water.
#14 Build current zones to be able to use these mounts in the water.
#15 Add Water Mount icon on maps near docks and beaches.
#16 Boat buying option using seals from any grand company. (Somewhere after Levathian in main storyline)
#17 Design boats for 1/2 players to ride. Size must be near behemoth mount size or smaller.
#18 Extra Water/Boat Mounts: Ocean Chocobo, Enbarr, Cavalry Elbst, Magitek- Boat etc.
#19 Not required to have enemies in water since you can't battle them on a mount. Could use Magitek boat cannon to attack some targets.
#20 Locations could use boat mounts, West Thanalan, West La Noscea, North Shroud, Eastern La Noscea, East Thanalan.
#21 Option to click on npcs/targets while on a boat/water mount.
#22 Make the water darker so cant see the flat terrain or change the terrain under the water.

Idea of the land where water mounts could do. Doted Line is barrier, can go to the added island I added in the bottom, Can enter from alteport dock and also reach the beaches of umbral isles.
The other objects added are things in the water already in game. This just small example of what they could do.

As much as I'd be gunho about this...I mean...it would be AMAZING! (Personal Archeage alpha tester and LOVIN it, and if they managed to pull this off, I may just reconsider continuing my gametime there~ ), I'm not sure how they could make this work. I could very well be wrong, but wouldn't this cause major server stress? The game can barely handle players that go after hunts/odin right now. I hope I'm wrong...I really do. But I just don't think Square could pull it off...

They even said in an interview with Yoshi that airships are not going to be what we expect...and I'm paraphrasing, but that they wouldn't take place in the zone's we play in, which leads me to believe they'll probably be instanced...

Again, I'd love Square to prove me wrong on this...it truely would open this game up to amazing possibilities. I'm just not raising my hopes.

I think most people are kind of like "really?" when they go to Mist then just see their character can't handle going in anything past knee high water.

I don't think mounts that could cross water would be too big of a deal given the open world already supports hundreds of people and their mounts...and water is just water in that open world. I dunno about the boats and stuff, though. Right now bodies of large water are being used as invisible walls of sorts. I would imagine/hope there is some way to cross it eventually.

Well, if they're able to pull it off, it's highly welcomed in my book. I'd love to see this get a lot more support as well.

Well, Yoshi said they had to chose between flying and swimming for the expansion, but that means the idea has been delayed not rejected.

Yoshi said he wanted to implement a lot of features, we don't have confirmations and most of them have never been mentioned again, but he wanted to add swimming, flying mounts and take out the invisible walls, so who knows... would be great to have a "roadmap" with the content they have planned for the next 4 years.

Nah it wouldnt create more server stress. Because people are more spread out in the zone & map size isnt any bigger. Biggest concern I have is there isnt much use to having a boat or using it since areas are limited in water and other concern is do they have the time to add this in? Main issue what your talking about is the amount of players running to a location/staying in one location causing the game to lag and crash.

Fishing. Fishing everywhere.

I recall someone once posted about taking a boat ride in either 1.0 or FFXI, where there was a chance you could be attacked by some giant sea monster. Fun times.

The only way I can see this can work is if they make different zones in between areas. Otherwise it'll be a waste of resources for them.

Sea Horror! I remember that. It was XI. There was also a similar boat ride where you could be attacked by pirates.

I would love for them to add the ability to swim in future content.

It was FFXI. There was a chance the sea horror could spawn (a fairly high level kraken type mob), and also a chance that pirates could come and summon skeleton type mobs to attack the ferry.

1.0 had a ferry and you could fish off of it but I don't think there were any mobs or special events.

It would be awesome for fisherman to be able to pull up mobs, but I know that'd be unlikely since they're not a fighter class. OR I really wish fishing for the big ones was less an HQ find and more of an actual skill challenge like in Archeage.

I don't have sources just good memory, but yes Yoshi mentioned swimming once, and he said they had to choose between "sky" or "water" for the first expansion, they chose "sky" so "water" got delayed.
