Hunts are causing client crashes.

Hunts are causing client crashes for myself and many others due to masses of people teleporting around constantly. I would wager that this is causing heretofore unseen levels of server stress and load. SE should pull the content until sweeping fixes and changes are made.

Its the same as bahmut and odin fates some people crash others like me cant see the mobs , SE wont *Pull* it but hopefully they try to fix fast for a change .

I have never crashed and I am playing on a ps4 aren't you exaggerating much. The most issues I have is animation delays which sometimes causes me to die because my defensive cooldowns not going off in time and sound skips.

Anything that meets the (fairly middling at best) advertised recommended requirements to operate the client should operate the client with minimal flaws. Anything that causes the client to behave otherwise, especially in the vein of causing crashes, is a program design error and should be rectified.

But you're right, people should just spend money they don't have on luxuries so gamesoft companies don't have to create working products.

I was doing hunts a few days ago on a laptop with a really shitty 7690M, which is below the recommendation of an HD 4770. Aside from really bad framerates I had no issues with stability.

Upgrade your toaster or do a better job of maintaining your PC.

At least theoretically, on a console you would have fewer crashes than a PC user using an average rig. This is just because a console handles programs differently than a PC does and the console version of the game is designed to the exact unchanging specifications of that console.

Basically, what I'm saying is that your PS4 experience has no bearing on the PC experience which does still include quite a bit of crashing. Really, a lot of crashing. I've got a pretty juiced up machine and I still get the odd crash during peak hours when I teleport into Mor Dhona for instance. I haven't personally experienced a Hunts crash because I don't actively participate in hunts, but I can see it. I certainly have crashed during Odin once or twice.

Prior to claiming that there is an issue with the software, which is unlikely when most people don't seem to have issues with it, and stating that "the content should be pulled", perhaps you should consider that maybe there is something wrong with your setup. Nobody in my hunt linkshell has complained about these issues, and it does not seem to be a widespread issue on the forums or places like rebbit.

Me and my fiancee haven't had any lockups to speak of until this update. We both have AMD GFX, and the issues seem to be more extreme when everyone is porting to a S. and When they are leaving. Occasionally it happens when fighting the boss, which is bad, because it dies in seconds so you don't have time to do anything, and have to hope the rest of the group carries you. I will say I improved the situation on my computer, by disabling everything possible, physics, shadows, name plates, ETC and it seemed to make things better for me. But my fiancee keeps having the same troubles, and she's all but given up on doing hunts as a result. We have always done odin/behe, and never seen this issue before. It's sad because my comp can easily handle the highest settings at 30+ FPS but it locks up like crazy during these ports, if I have my settings higher then the lowest of low. I have a HD6970, she has a HD5770. If she keeps having issues, I'm going to go into CCC and turn it on performance mode.... lol

Considering how popular this content is, it's a pretty safe bet that if there were issues with said content that were so severe as to warrant completely pulling it, they'd be fairly well documented at this point.

i agreed only started the hunt a week now and it seems during the day period there is no lag issues with Rendering or tpin in and out. but as soon as it hits evening around 6pm the lag begins, pings of 9k to 89k has been seen most times not laggin out but seriously sticking.

also trying to tp to another map client randomly crashes. i have wtf and also my rig can handle the stress. so i'm certain its the servers that cannot handle the amt of ppl in a set location at once. also only recently it has poured over into front lines where im seeing a ping of 5 k and more. from which previously i had no lag.

already done virus and malware scans to make sure. but the recurring factor is eveningin time when more players are logged.

PS4 master race huh?

No crashes and I don't even lose S-ranks all that much.

Yes...recommended specs stay the same with every patch, especially after 3 major patches and many smaller ones almost a year out. Nothing ever goes wrong with patches or added content. Nope, never.

And even at launch, games playing on a recommended specs PC can still have hiccups due to one part being "wrong" despite everything meeting reqs, or even one "wrong" driver. Recommended is a starting point, not an end point. If you want a game to run well or better, you have to get your PC to work for the game; this is a pretty big reason why consoles work so well, all the specs are the same so games can be optimized properly. PCs are usually a hodgepodge of parts from many places and so optimization is incredibly difficult overall.

you can turn down how many people you can see in the settings. just turn it to low since you PC is crapping out. has nothing to do with server stress if you client is the one crashing.

I'm actually above the reccomended specs XD. Nice try though. And, as I said, it isn't limited to just me.

In another thread it has been noted that AMD graphics users have had various degrees of problems since the patch.
I haven't seen anyone with nVidia graphics note those particular problems (though people with SLI occasionally report performance issues).

I recommend AMD users start experimenting with various in-game and driver settings to see if it helps anything, as that could also speed up anything SE can do to help fix it. Enable or disable occlusion culling and other things as an example.
Anything that is actually caused by the game should obviously be fixed by SE, but every bit of feedback helps.

I had to quit hunts because my client would crash after every 3 teleports when moving from one elite mark to another. I've been reading that this issue is most common among AMD GPUs. I have an HD 7870. Before this patch my game would rarely crash, usually when teleporting in to Coerthas.
After the third teleport, my game would either just crash or would start running at 1-2fps. My computer is way above the recommended specs to run this game, and my computer is well maintained. This happens in no other game I have played before.
As a result of these crashes I can no longer be reliable in a hunt party as I will be letting the rest of my group down when they are trying to get as much hate as possible on a target while I'm offline.

That option turns down not only the amount of player characters visible but also the amount of mobs visible. It does not separate the two. I have tried using this setting before to kill an S rank but the mob was still invisible among all the other players.

I have been having the same issue. Generally, right after having teleported into an area or as others are teleporting in. Framerates will drop to 1-2 then client will crash. And to address the 'upgrade your toaster' BS, as with some of these other people, I'm actually running a pretty powerful rig. It is sounding like AMD is the problem, though, as I'm running 2 HD 7970's. Sucks not being able to participate in the hunts.

I might have find a temporary solution. Check Cashe LOD data only when necessary.

Seems to be an isolated issue. The majority never crash. Now random 90ks is a different story

My computer is probably on the top high end, but my client has crashed at two S rank hunts. Not sure exactly what causes it because I have done at least twenty S ranks. Although it could be because I also browse the web, IM on Skype and watch TV shows on my computer at the same time as playing the game? The combination of things could be causing it... dunno.

This happens to me quite a bit. Framerate crawls to a halt followed by the game crashing. It's pretty annoying.

it is a working product, they said from the start it supports high end pc's if you run a minimal setting of a video card expect to get low results. I found out the hard way when running a GT 520 crashed a lot, then I upgraded my power supply and graphics card and have no problems now.

You have money to spend on a subscription every month, so you saying you cant shell out 50 dollars for a power supply or about 80-100 bucks for a gtx card?

MOBO is cheap as dirt and ram cost low also from newegg, so no excuse.

The only thing that would be pricey would be the i3-i5-i7 processor though I am sure i3 wouldn't cost that much.

Also it ain't just for this game, because in a few years games are taking a leap and you will need high end pc to play them, so its not just for this game.

Same problem here. I built my PC back in Feb and had my 1st client crash 4 days ago doing hunts. It has happened 3 times since and happens when I teleport.

The computer itself has extremely minimal bearing on whether or not the server kicks you. That's either connectivity or server-side issues. I've had no true connection issues with my internet and I've upgraded my Router. The next step is to upgrade internet and that currently is not possible because my current ISP's next upgrade doesn't provide for my area yet (ATT Uverse) and we all know XFinity is like stepping on a thumbtack. Plugging into the router has no major difference in these scenarios. The code for handling these things seems really, really incapable and has been that way since release.

We aren't receiving server errors like 90k, 1015, 2002, 5006 etc.. It is not a server or ISP issue. The app is crashing and it is most likely an AMD driver issue.

Hmm, I thought you were talking about server errors. I get those more than the game crash, but I do appreciate the link.

In any case, simply having a new box isn't going to typically fix it for most users. My computer runs the game very well and only has FPS issues when heated for a while (when I forget to turn on extra fan) or when everyone and their chocobos are on my screen with more particles than a fireworks parade at Disney World.
