Theft from the FC bank/members.

GM's say there is nothing they can do when ex leader of Organization XIII has taken every item and over 12 mil gil. What happens when someone else does it? Will it be the same thing then? There has to be something that they can do to get back our HQ items and 12 mil gil that was stolen from us. What do you all think about this? Should something be done to prevent people taking everything then just leaving the FC like it meant nothing? We are all confused by what has happened and even tried to reason with him but he says it belongs to him when we the members were the ones who put in all that gil and HQ items.

its sounds like you how sent it up to where only 1-2 people can take items from the chest to avoid this from happeneing and make sure you can trust them.

Well, I've heard of stuff like that happening before, and as far as I know, SE doesn't act in cases like these. Interpersonal drama and jerk moves like that aren't directly against the game rules, FC Chests are a touchy subject. It's best to not put anything in there that you aren't ready to give up, and you should make sure whoever has access to it is trustworthy.

Also, using people's names in negative context is prohibited in the forum, you might want to edit it out - even if I, personally, absolutely endorse naming and shaming when applicable, because there's just nothing else going to be done about it.

I once read someone put it something like this: Its a donation to the guild/fc/whatever. You forfeit the item or money once it was donated. Its not yours, ours, ect. Its the leaders or whoever holds the most power determined by game mechanics. You don't own part of the FC simply by donating things or money. You also dont have a say what happens to those things once donated unless the leader says you do.

no matter how you want to put it, it may have been yours, but like the post above says, once you put it in the chest, its not yours, you have essentially given it to whoever has access to it. if you dont like the thought of just giving you items/gil away, dont put it in the chest

Gil in chest is the stupidest idea in gaming I have ever heard of, its an open invitation. You should have known better, never trust anyone in an MMO with your money, period.

That's why I never donate to the chest, had this happen in ffxi. Leader did a server jump out of the blue. Donate times only.

This why I made it that while everyone can contribute to my FC chest, only certain people can take the money out (we are saving for FC house).

I had a similar situation to yours on my old FC where we had 8mil in the FC chest was getting ready to purchase the house when a really good player joined us from a big FC. I hadn't realised that any player could take the money when I log in the next day everything was gone >_> and so was the new member. It was my own fault really though...so now I tell everyone, make sure only certain people have privileges.

That be why the first 2 tabs anyone in our fc can deposit and withdraw while the 3rd one only officers can withdraw items. As far as the gil goes i have it setup so that only i may withdraw funds as the leader.
I am very sorry that this has happened to you, and while you may report it to SE unfortunately not sure anything would be done.
If you are not the leader, i would agree with others. Simply do not deposit in the vault, have heard too many stories. Even had a member join us once and within a week he left but wiped us clear of all items we had

I don't understand why people GIVE their money to the FC Chest. you can hold it perfectly fine or put in the your retainer, but even if your contributing for something or buying a house with someone you trust there's no way you should of held multiple users gil in a chest where multiple users had access to take it all.
Not in a game. I could of easily taken your 12 mil and transfer servers or even not. Because some people care and to some people its still just a game.
If you've ever played any games before FFXIV you know how hard it is to trust people and how to keep your own security.

If you keep funds for large purchases like the house in the chest not only do you have an accurate amount, it's sometimes encouraging for people to see how far you've come in X amount of time or just how far away the goal is. Yeah you have to trust your leader(s) but its just something you have to deal with.
