One way to kill Batraal (Dzemael Darkhold)

Hello. Here is one kill strategy. It works for us and we've killed quite a few times so far :cool:
Hope it helps some with strategy.

First phase, 3 skeletons and Batraal.

Second phase (<80% HP), 2 skeletons and ghosts around Batraal. This is when tank starts to move Batraal around to avoid ghosts. The skeleton party should use the Sword Terminal to disable the Batraal's glowing sword.

Third phase (<40% HP), 3 skeletons. This is when Batraal starts doing his directional laser beam type ability. It's wide area directional so the south west and north east side from the kite line is the safe for mages and archers/dps to attack.

Any idea what the west terminal does? Seems to me it is nothing but a distraction.

Can you give any info on what weaponskills Batraal can use?

West terminal stuns the Ahrimans temporarily. It is not necessary to be used, with enough practice.

what du3de said above :)

the smallest terminal on the north west part stops the eyes from moving for maybe a minute. however, it is pointless to use it since you take the boss battle to the south, and take the skeleton battle out of the area they roam in.

but they do fly right up to the Defense down terminal and you might get unlucky and get stunned for a bit. so just watch for that :)

so just ignore that terminal altogether.

One is like a circle blade where he spins around.
one is a backflip and he poisons you
one is a multiple slash
and a wide area directional laser beam type thing.

the only person in range of these is your tank. the healer and DD's stay in safe spots noted on diagram :)

when the tank+healer are tanking Batraal, the other group (DD's and healers) are dealing with the skeletons.
once skeletons are gone, the DD group gets on the Defense down terminal. when Batraals invincible defense is down, do a couple big battle regiments. :)

3 terminals:
A small one on the west stops the eyes from moving (not needed).
Sword terminal to the north east removes his extra damage from glowing blades during phase 2 and 3.
Defense Down terminal to the south removes his invincible buff.

PHASE I
First form Batraal and 3 skeletons, 2 mages and 3 dd round up the skeletons and kill them over by the sword terminal.
Once dead, skeleton group hits the defense terminal and does 2 battle regimens on Batraal.

PHASE II
At about 80% hp he will pop 2 skeletons and his blades will glow.
The skeleton party rounds up the skeletons & takes them back to the sword terminal, fights them in the spot indicated on the map.
While this is happening, damage dealers are hitting the sword terminal each time it lights up.
Skeleton party returns to Batraal and hits the defense terminal on the way and again 2 or more battle regimens.

PHASE III
At around 45%, he will summon 3 skeletons skeleton party breaks off and repeats.
During this last form he gets 2 aoe attacks that can be avoided by simply running away from them (they are cones).
After the last skeletons die, skeleton group returns hits the defense one last time and kills batraal with battle regimens.

You can make use of the spare mage as needed; we did not need time to help cure our tank 1 mage was enough for phase 1 and 2.
They can help out the skeleton group if the tank needs more healing the spare can help out with main heal as needed.

DDs kill skeletons then only get close for a br.

DD's can actually solo kill skeletons without help of healers as well.

I was thinking though for Phase3 that it might be possible to use a 2nd GLA and offtank all 3 skeletons that pop and just keep dps on Bartaal the entire time. (A GLA could tank 4 or 5 of those things and never die solo)

Threat being main issue really... was thinking RS2 Riot Blade on one, then run over Provoke2/Heavy Slash the 2nd, and then Disorient2/Taunt2 the 3rd one. That will give you around 1000 threat on all 3, then you can Outmaneuver to gain TP back, Bloodbath2 Circle Slash for maybe 800ish more threat on all 3 and then possible just Cure bomb yourself for a while intentionally taking damage and then just turtle mode when OOM.

All 3 healers gotta be on tank at this point to make it happen using smaller cures (Cure2, Sac2) and cannot be spamming but rely on each other to always cast so that the OT can get the mobs and not lose them.

Its a strategy I've been thinking of but we haven't tried in our LS yet. Just DPS tanking the 3 skeletons, killing, then finishing off Bartaal is what we've been doing so far.

Guess they could BR and then while waiting steal hate with Accomplice off the tank healers if possible.

Team build 3 Conj / 1 Thurm (Me) and 1 Pug, 2 Archer, and One tank its a good team setup 4 sure :)

Yes, they just gotta be aware and run out of ghosts pretty much, archers sorta OP again in this battle since you can nock both arrows getting the shield down, run in (3 archers lets say) and do 10% of its HP right when you get back.

Also if the shield goes up while you are DPSing, make sure to reapply Bloodletter before you run back to the circle or else it will just blow up for 0.

so quick question. everyone seems to be all about only conj and arc and a gladiator, i have only made it to batraal once and as a lancer i didnt really know what i should be doing or how to best help the group. can someone maybe enlighten me on the positioning and skills i should use on the boss fights?

Do you know the name of the AoE(s) he uses? I can't remember much from the only fight I did since all I was focused on was my TP, Batrall's HP Bar, the mini map to make sure I'm on top of getting my skeleton, and the ping for BRs, though I know something was hitting me for quite a bit.
