Hunt Monster Priority

Tried to do S rank Garlok today, and the area was so congested with people the monster kept blinking in and out. I thought I read they had fixed this, but its still happening.

I'm on PC and even though my PC is very very capable of running the game on MAX, this sort of thing is happening still. So if its happening to me its definitely happening to people with lesser spec'd PC's.

Please SE, can you change all monsters to have priority over player characters. Or atleast give us some kind of option to limit the number of player characters rendered on screen when its congested like this.

Funny thing is, I'm on the PS3 and it still takes a good minute or two for the marks to appear. By that time, they're already dead. Thank goodness for non-target weaponskills, or I'd completely give up on hunting.

SE, you have yet to properly fix The Hunt in regards to hunting Elite Marks. Please make all Elite Marks have top priority appearance, followed by party members (including pets) and randoms. Elite Marks should never vanish into thin air when they're still alive and kicking, especially in mid-combat.

Saw Garlok on PS4 today as well. Same issue as OP described.

the only way to do hunts on ps3 is
1) be in a group
2) be a brd/smn/sch and hope your ground target hits boss once to register.

Further adding to this. Fought Bonnacon two days ago and saw the following:
~6 Flaming Arrow ground effects.
2/3 Shadow Flare ground effects.
An Eos and Selene both belonging to players who were not in my party.
On very rare occasions, one or two players within melee range of myself.
0 Bonnacons.

Can't you turn off other characters effects in the settings

It used to be fine for me, but ever since the "Infrastructure Maintenance" it has gotten really bad...

What I don't understand is why there isn't a general rendering priority order in place...

The order should ALWAYS be:

Yourself
Enemies
Your party/alliance
Your party's/alliance's pets
Other players
Other players' pets
Minions

This priority order should be used for rendering characters at all times everywhere in the game. If they did this there would be no issues. I don't know why this isn't already in place considering how many other MMOs do this...

I find it easier to spam holy in various spots on Whm and hope one of them hits XD

Really lame - just came back from attempting to kill Naul in coerthas for my weekly kill, which gives 20 seals.

I found him by... seeing about 4-5 people going at the same place - no shouts at all - when i arrived at the spot - hmm 50 people on average?

Everyone was waiting to someone to hit - this feels awkward - should I hit first and get the rage of the community, but try to get my mark done, as i heard you need 30% dmg (I was with an FC mate)

I decided to wait - someone hit - everyone follows - hmmm- 3 seconds later, he's done, I have 1 Seal, 1 Myth, 1 Sol - mark not complete.

I turn around - out of the 50, about 5 remains stationary...

Anyway, as I reiterate - good idea, bad implementation.

I try to be a WHM to go around this, but even when it shows on my enemy list and my heals are ticking, I still get no credit.

I have the sensation the aggro meter needs to turn orange or red to give me full (and any) credit.

I think it is funny. It is not like this is a new problem and it couldn't have been forseen that exactly this will happen if they don't change anything. Odin and Behemoth FATES and mass appearances of players have told SE...drumwhirl....melodramatic pause...another drumwhirl....NOTHING!
