Let's talk about 90s Accessories.

Hay guys,

what do you guys think about the ilv 90 Accessories? As SCH they seems to be strong, maybe even BiS (at least Neck + 1 Ring)

A possible meld would be:

6 Det
16 Crit
14 Vit

What do you guys think? I'm not seeing any problems to drop some MND for more crit / det. It's not like on a DD, dropping MND doesn't hurt us that much.

BiS, not even.

2nd Coil Accuracy set, it has some value. i90 Hands/Feet and either 1 Ring or Belt. Dropping MND doesn't affect heals that much, but it does lower your damage output. I guess if you don't care about damage, or want to blow a lot of money for a sidegrade, you can go for it.

Sch - Critical all the way even at the cost of mind.

WHM - Determ - Spell Speed - Piety - Crit. in that order.

I don't think any of those pieces are even close to BiS -status (for a SCH), no matter what the melds. The MND-difference is just too big to justify some little Crit. Sure, you could have fun with some VIT melds, but then what? Unless you're undergeared for T9 with your left side, you wouldn't need VIT anyway.

Apart from that, you have 2 i110 items with Crit on them (HA earrings + bracelet), so for those slots, the i90 accessories are worthless by default, if we speculate BiS-statuses. For the other three accessory slots - you have the Daystar ring with plenty more MND+DET over the i90 crafted ring and then the Judgement Ring of Healing with DET+Crit, those two being SCH BiS. (The Judgement Ring of Healing has enough DET to make it shine over the HA-healing ring due to its crit, whereas the i90 crafted one won't be a match for the Daystar ring with way more MND and DET to boot).

The only slot in which the i90 crafted could be even reasonably good is the necklace slot. Even then, max DET + crit -melds won't save it from being inferior to the two i110s. Sacrificing some MND for Crit can be okay, but if we're talking about like 4-5 MND's worth for some Crit only (the i90 with max DET melding), it's not gonna be worth it.

Unless you're making an accuracy-based DPS-set with these accessories (which could be achieved with i90 left side items too, as Seravi said), they're not gonna be worth it.

Do you even know how much (less) MND rly influence your healing output^^? It just proves the fact the Main Stat > ALL is so hard hammered in every head since launch, which doesn't allow people to think out of the box...

With Neck, Earring and 1 Ring i'm losing 15 MND. 15 MND is literally near no difference if you count in the gained DET. (That without counting in the Party buff)
If you only cap DET / Crit you gain:

22 crit
33 det
--> if you used 4 Mats there is still place for 1 Vit 8 Materia.


Also, since when is the "BiS" standard limited to SCoB? For SCoB T7 Savage, you need more hp which will be achieved by this without losing any healing power (even increasing your chance for adlos).
More HP in overall without losing the healing power you can achieve with max gear isn't that bad and will help in hairy situations.

@DPS: Yes, i don't care for MAX DPS but i still dps, even with my 400 ACC i'm at ~100~120 dps. It could be higher, yes, but there is no need for it... otherwise i can reroll a dps class and let the WHM (SCH) try to heal it solo. (And i'm 100% sure its possible... since 110 is way overgeared for SCoB)

BiS for me means, to be prepared the best way for new content.

Savage SCoB is a good argument, yeah, there're some brutal HP dips there, I didn't really account in for that. If you want to use them for more VIT in there, whilst mitigating MND losses, then yeah, that's a good way of going around it. I will acknowledge that.

Apart from that, on the topic of 'how much your main-stat influences your heals and damage' - calculating weights can be harder than it is for DPS because of variance in playstyles (Adlo-heavy etc.), but sure, there can be rough outlines for that. By the way, you're not really gaining any DET in the large scheme of the things. Daystar ring has DET and so does the HA choker. Both of those amounts are close to the i90 melding caps, with both HAs having 5 more MND to them. So the question becomes: is losing 10 MND worth it for 32 crit? And: do I need extra VIT for the progression? The latter, depends for sure.

No it's not "Definite" a "no"... Those 10 MND doesn't change -That- much on your healing / dpsing.

And how much does 30 Crit change? I'm not saying MND is king blindly. But pumping Crit at the cost of MND (and not even THAT much Crit) is pretty meh.

The reason to get these crafted pieces is for extra stats you can't get on your regular gear as far as I'm concerned. That means accuracy and vit is what you go for, melding them with crit but not taking advantage of the extra vitality or accuracy you can pick up from it I'd consider a bad choice. Crit Adlos are amazing, but they will continue to be unreliable until you can guarantee crits.
