Crafting Tables are Glamour?

Has anyone tried to get the max level removed on crafting tables for FC houses? It boggles my mind that they are limited to level 40 and under crafting?? What sense does this make? It would be wonderful to have the level restriction on the buffs they provide removed AND it would make them more valuable. As it stands now, they just look really nice in our FC house I guess...

Thoughts?

It pretty much makes them useless. It doesn't help that once placed they aren't removable without destroying them. Any hope of producing a few different ones and placing them as FC members leveled various classes went right out the window. These should work all the way to 50 and be easily removable. Glazenuts aren't easy to come by after all.

What's are best channel for promoting this change? I would be willing to get out my Soapbox, just want to do it right...

Honestly? I think it would be better if the crafting tables granted the following bonuses:

-XP Bonus for Crafters Level 49 and Under
-+10% Craftsmanship
-+10% Control
-+10% CP

Also, allow folks to use the crafting apparatus while crafting as if they were using their own tools.

This would solve two issues: First, it would remove the redundancy of having one of these apparatuses around when everyone's crafting level for that apparatus is over 40. Second, it would encourage players to craft in their FC houses instead of being out on the streets.

Not to mention that, for solo players, it would actually give a good excuse to make these apparatuses for reasons other than selling them off for gil.

10% is waaaaaaaaaay too big. At current caps, that's almost 40 CP which would break the balance of endgame crafting. I like that it's extremely difficult to HQ primal weapons; they're one of the few places left in the crafting game where HQ isn't all but guaranteed.

I admit I'm not quite at the endgame crafting-wise yet, so some of those numbers are just there because reasons. If you have a better suggestion for how the bonuses should be, feel free to shout 'em out!

tbh, I don't care what % it offered. Just offer something beyond 40 to give players a reason to even have them beyond "it looks cool". And I love the idea of actually using the benches. I have a 50 cul and standing at that stove would be a hoot!

I hoped that they would work like the repair NPCs and the guild NPCs during 1.0, giving you a crafting buff regardless of the level.

My clan mate and I went on a spending spree when we earned our FC house, our guild was just us then, and bought several benches. Lots of Gil to make the place look good. dam. I think the player base being limited to FC housing only right now are uninterested in crafting benches atm. My hope is when Personal Housing comes out there might be more of a "Please Change This!" from the community and maybe we'll see a change...

Yeah, crafting benches have been, well pointless, since they day they were introduced. Not a single member of our FC thought it was worth the effort of making them just for vanity purposes. I've not heard one player in my circles of friends and acquaintances describe the tables as anything but vanity or completely useless.

All it would take is form the Dev's to remove to level cap and all FC's would see a jump in bench use. That's all I want! Imagine stopping by your FC house and having the area you placed benches popping with activity. May even help with those complaining about crafters flogging towns /mb's. Such a little change could have a HUGE impact...

That's kind of a bad decision on SE's part :/ Semi-off topic but on topic on removing furniture that gets destroyed >.> Idk why they couldn't just bind it like the other furniture, because it's kind of bs that if you upgrade to a bigger house, you'd lose like 90% of your stuff (unless when upgrading, it keeps all furniture, idk, not rich enough for that yet lol)

We decided to get gsm table for glamour in my FC. We are a small FC and most of us are interested in crafting so only two members can actually use it. I can understand why they don't want it effective at 50, but the bonus should at least be useable though lvl 49.

I'm sorry to say so but you're all missing the main point of the crafting stations - to help crafting / leveling up crafting classes bellow 40. This was known from the start so I really wonder why is anyone so surprissed? I doubt this will be ever changed as that would make high level crafter too overpowered ...

We're not really "surprised", we're just disappointed. These crafting stations require really valuable resources to craft, are a 3-star craft which makes them particularly difficult to make, and the only benefit is to provide a slight boost to low-level crafters. There is no real incentive to craft these other than to sell on the market boards or if you are the primary crafter of your FC. It seems silly that cooking a meal on a hot plate in the middle of the desert would yield the same quality dish as the exact same dish being cooked on a proper stovetop complete with an oven. I mean, I didn't graduate from culinary school or anything, but I'm pretty sure the cleanliness of the cooking area would greatly benefit the quality of the dish being made at the very least., and not being hunched over a tiny burner would cause stamina to be dropped at a slower rate.

Stationary tools are usually much much more effective than handheld tools, this is a well-known fact with just about any modern trade as it has been true in the past. A medic is far less equipped to deal with things than a physician in a hospital, an engineer would be better suited to their workshop than they would trying to assemble things out in the field, etc.

Not to mention that, with these apparatuses, players aren't even cooking on them. They're like "Oh hey look, a stove!" and that magically boosts the XP they gain from crafting food. I mean... how in blazes does that work?

I really love the concept of the crafting tables, but for what they are they're only really good for role play. I hope they made an advanced version soon. Mostly because I'm desperately trying to find ways to provoke our FC members to actually go inside our house and not just hang around the market board down the road.

I agree, the current crafting tables are useless. They need to give bonuses for people that are level 50. I don't care how low the bonus is. ._.

The point of the crafting tables helping only crafters up to level 40 is to make it so people without a FC house can compete with level 50 crafters and rich FCs don't have a market place advantage.

This might change when personal housing is implemented, depending on cost of housing and percentage of the server pop the SE can support giving housing (anything under 100% of server pop, and SE won't change the crafting table restrictions).

So far it seems more people are for having benches extend to level 50 crafters then oppose it. Nice to see I'm not alone in my hope. As to the comments of benches providing an unfair advantage if they removed the level cap, well I respectfully disagree. I see that as the same discussion regarding Ventures bringing back 2 and 3 star items and how that will greatly effect the crafting community. Well it hasn't... Nor would this. It would however increase FC participation which I feel is something needed by all.

Crafting Tables reduce the crafts level, meaning it makes it easier, even 3 star crafts.

Just like the "Ingenuity" craft skill.

I can craft 3 star recipes way easier with the buff than without.

I just thing that the tooltip is either wrong or only the bonus CP are for the lower lvls.
I'll have to check it again later at home.

I was just taking a developer point of view. As a player, I would love a useful crafting table/bench

The thing you need to keep in mind about this game is that the hardcore elements are all vanity. Raiding, story, dungeons, pve content that's full access to anyone at anytime.

Glamour and vanity though, that's where the hardcore come in.

In french the Tooltip says that the Buff reduces the Recipes level.
In english it only says it adds CP to the lvl 40 or below crafters.

Just decided to use one of these tables to level my Culinarian. Turns out the bonus isn't even to XP. It's to CP. So... that's supposed to help me how? I'm using a rotation that maximizes the use of Hasty Touch. I have no more need for CP than the CP I already have.

And then you failed hasty touch 5 times in a row and you wish you had just a couple more CP for that Aetheric/WasteNot/Reclaim skill...

I'd rather have no bonus and be able to use them at level 50.

When I fail Hasty Touch five times in a row, I am having a really bad day. Especially considering I rarely ever use Hasty Touch unless Steady Hand is up, boosting it from 50% to 70%.

Right now, my rotation (at Lv30-ish) is thus: Inner Quiet, Steady Hand, Waste Not, then alternate between Hasty Touch and Standard Touch (depending on Condition), then once both buffs run out, reapply Steady Hand and Waste Not, continue with Hasty/Standard Touch, and then Careful Synthesis to hammer it home as needed. If I get "Good" Condition before all of my buffs are up, I use Tricks of the Trade to restore CP.

On most of the stuff I make, if I fail to get HQ more than 80% of the time, it's usually by a wide enough margin that I'd need to level into the next set of gear to improve that.

Who do you think the FC is designed for?

A: Players that is learning or leveling in the game
B: Players at end game

Hint: Look at the FC actions available, who do they benefit?

I am aware that the base premiss of FC's actions are for leveling to 50. Does that mean that there should be nothing to benefit end game players within a FC? Seal Sweetener benefits end game players... My main point is with the help/support of the community, we might promote a change here!

The item description says it increases CP (Eng/Ger).

But it would be nice if it would reduce the level of the synth for lvl50 crafters.
Or it could provide a fixed buff like +5 Control +5 Craftsmanship.

I also like the idea that, to get any bonus, you actually have to use the stove/workbench/...
