Crafting Materials in Roulette

I agree with the point that seeing crafting materials from the majority of the treasure chests is quite depressing. And since I have been hunting around the forums to see the general consensus. Flat out removing the crafting materials from the new Expert Roulette dungeons is not a solution. So here are a few I can suggest.

1. Add an extra chest to each of the boss fight rewards that only drops gear. And the other chest will only have crafting materials. This way every boss in dungeon will drop at least on piece of gear, and craft mat.
2. Remove crafting materials from the boss fight reward chests and have them in the chests scattered about the dungeon. The potion chests are normally ignored entirely when I run dungeons. But if someone wants a crafting material from it then feel free to grab the chest.

I personally think option one is the better of the two and the easiest thing to implement. It would satisfy both types of players the crafters and people like me who are just looking for new glamour or trying to gear another class. This can also be applied to all previously released dungeons and ones that have yet to be released.

Feel free to post your own opinions or suggestions below. We are looking for solutions to the problem and constructive criticism.

This is a viable solution. Bosses should drop gear, while the rest of the chests should do crafting mats. I'm not sure why they even drop potions because no one uses them.

This is how every dungeon should have been. I dont want to run a dungeon 20 times before i finally see one piece of armor drop, and it then being something i didnt even want or need. I havent seen a single piece of Darklight Gear even once in the past two weeks, yet i saw animal fat and water just about every run.

I understand this restriction might be in place due to being allowed to turn armor in for Seals now, and this might give you too much of them too quickly. But that should not be a reason to make inferior armor (for glamour) this rare.

I just ran Stone Vigil Hard Mode, not a single piece of gear. Every boss chest was crafting Mats, this is depressing

It's not even viable for people to gear from these dungeons. They'd have to run them an excessive number of times to get even a couple items for their set.

At least in the old expert there was a bigger loot table of gear (DL and green) so there were higher chances of getting gear.

That's the thing, you get 50 myth per dungeon now, heck, you get 100+ from others even not counting the bonuses. So between 4 and 8 runs give you a guaranteed piece of I90 gear of your choice. And here it takes atleast 20 runs to even SEE a i70 piece drop that would be useless, if it's even a piece you can wear and/or want. Now this wouldnt be a problem if Darklight for instance could be bought through other means with Myths (or heck, bring back Philo), but you cant. There's no stepping stone, people are doing dungeons in a mix of i90 and i45-50 gear. Instead of being able to atleast temporarily upgrade to i70.

Well that is my 5th day in a row now where my Expert Roulette dungeon has given me 4 crafting mats as loot.

This! please this, so much! The second option is what I'd prefer most, but I could live with the 1st option. There are still pieces of the i70 gear I've NEVER seen drop. Please SE fix this because it's just discouraging honestly. I've taken to leveling another alt class, because I'd rather do that than to farm dungeons for Animal fat and filtered water while I'm locked out of other end game content(one way or another).

6th day in a row I've gotten 4 crafting mats from all chests in SV....

This is a fantastic idea OP!

i55 - i70 and the fancy crafters can craft i90 gear for players but the latter can help boost interest and markets for crafters. I guess it gives some notion to people to finally level a DoH to make some money or gear for other classes they have yet to level.

Lets get this some more attention! Tell your friends about it if they are also upset with the way loot currently works in the roulette.

Not even 30 expert dungeon runs yet not a single run without a gear drop at all.
Have all divine harvest except boots and hands.
Have a couple of divine light, divine war and divine hero pieces as well.
That's with plenty of gear that went to others.

Sometimes I wonder if people even look at the loot before passing, just assuming that it's crafting mats and not gear/accessories.

During the last live letter they said however they'd look into making gear drop more often. Don't think they said anything about removing crafting materials.

I wish they'd take out the sherry, blood, and water. Nobody wants or needs the quantities of that garbage in dungeons. Or minium.


Regarding potions: I use the x-potions, they've actually saved my life a few times believe it or not. Black Mages can use the x-ethers for flares. So those are actually useful to some people (I like when minions drop from potion chests though!).

i get almost all the mats in dungeons since most people havnt even touched there crafts and most of mine are lv50. i just need and get all of them.

You can Need on them without having your crafting classes leveled. Most people just don't want them. A few of them can go for about 10k on my server, but most are just vendor trash (oh boy, a whole 20 gil!) and that's why nobody wants them.

This could be solved by making some gear not tradable for seals, or reducing the amount of seals they give.
Personally I have no problems with the darklight being exchangeable for seals, as it is only ilvl70 and we are currently at 100/110.

Now that you mention this... it is kind of odd really.
You can't need on gear that your current class can't wear, but you can need on mats that you can't use :/

So crafting mats should be greed only then? Since you can't enter with a crafting class and crafting classes should be the only ones to be able to need on crafting mats...
I don't see what the practical difference between having need for all and greed only is...

I kinda like the way things are right now. Maybe it seems not really useful for players that doesn't have any/all DoH capped, but since I have all DoH capped, I always find myself always lacking of mats. Even those seemingly useless mats can be turned into more favorable market value once you crafted them.

I actually have a little bit complaint of why SE didn't put more crafting rewards, though it would hurt markets. lol

took me like 40-50 stone vigil runs to get chest, belt and boots i needed for pvp XD

I'm just wondering how they expect new 50's to gear up. Shooting from item level 55 to 90 (skipping the gear from dungeons in favor of myth items) because gear doesn't drop from chests in dungeons isn't the way in my opinion.

I can understand why getting to endgame quickly is prudent, but seriously, knock it off SE. Not everyone enjoys grinding for gear that becomes outdated simply by trying to acquire it.

On my server, in some cases the crafting mats from dungeons (old philo tome mats) are going for more than the new myth tome crafting mats.

This is mostly because of the abundance of myth tomes (hunts I'm looking at you).

It's kind of funny because the dungeon crafting mats make i70 gear and the myth tome crafting mats make i90 gear. (Though most people don't do either of those anymore and just make gear for their personal rooms).

Why would we want any of those crafting mats anyway for gear.... Kill like one A rank hunt mob and you have a piece of the myth gear (or actually like 2 pieces if you count the tome + hunt mark rewards).
