I wouldn't go back for the world.
I wouldn't, mainly because I don't get the appeal of playing a character that looks like a 5 year old child.
Well, here's a few:

(lol believe it or not, both these pictures have the same exact players, even on the same side XD...the first picture we made alts of our FC leader/Friend to make her smile)
And there's an entire thread with lots of pictures to gaze at.
Ultimately, the choice is up to you.
If you enjoy having your camera zoomed out to max all the time just to be able target anything, then go ahead.

I switched to a Lala for a short bit of time. It's kinda fun how Lalas seem to naturally gravitate towards each other for shenanigans. While I did have fun, and thought she was adorable, I ended up switching back to my Miqo'te as it felt more "me".
Now...when the individual fantasias come out, I'll probably switch back for some more fun - at least for awhile ;)
nneeeevah.
Miqo'te master race OP.
Don't dare joining the ranks of those we hunt everyday for dinner, it would be suicide!
If you have an account with extra character space make a new one character and try it out first. I hate playing a Lala on my alt, I lose myself in big crowds like CT. However, emoting is far better as a Lala.
I guess it's a step up from being a dime-a-dozen miqote which are everywhere, but the camera view changes and overall floursack-type body are real turn-offs to me.
Lalas are all about emotes spam tbh lol.
If you aren't spamming, stalking, running circles around someone then you aren't playing lalafell to its fullest.
Yes they tend to gravitate towards eachother for mischief and the such ( i know personally as i was a falafell too)
But it gets tiring after a while as you are too short to be "glamouress".
Mi'qote and lalas are the bag of coins while us elezen and hyurs are dollar bills.
But roes are the gold bars lol
They are dinner.
I was a Lalafell once. It was terrific.
Eww. Why would you do that to yourself?
Changing from a boring and generic catgirl to a boring and generic lala? Sounds like a waste of phantasia to me. You know, there are other races too, right?
You MUST become a female Hyur Highlander.
Because DREDLOCKZ.

In the new world...Miqo'te will be our mounts. :D
I switched a Lalafell and enjoy it quite a bit, but you have to evaluate what is important to you aesthetically first. If looking "cool" is important to you insofar that you like the way armor looks on a typical humanoid figure and this is important for you, you may not like lalafell. Things that look awesome on the other races not so much on lalafell, and vice versa on other things. For me, I like to emote and just the animations in general of lalafell. Their walk is awesome, their emotes are great...
... but secretly, I like being able to perch on things that would just look stupid w/ bigger characters. I like sitting in peoples crafting stove pots, on random signs in cities, and other things like that >_>.
Being a Lala is awesome. When I got my veteran reward phantasia i tried switching to Hyur and lasted about 4 days before asking for an item restoration. We can do anything and wear anything and we will look adorable. You can spam emote and everyone will love you, you can run in circles around other people, poking people brings a smile to their face, you can comfortably fit anywhere and if you find another lala... the game just gets 100x better with a full Lala party.Plus, Lalatanks are literally the best.https://33.media.tumblr.com/bd6a5f38...cako1_1280.png
This my Moqi sitting on a sign in Ul'Dah. It would look pretty stupid were it any other race, right? Sitting on a sign, what is up with that. But me? You just want to smother me with cuddles.

That's him again, wondering how you're still a cat. Come join the party!
I understand the appeal of cuteness that the Lalas have, thier adorable little faces... just want to squish hug them all!
If I were you, I would use 1 potion to switch and play a Lala till it was out of my system... then I would use another potion and go running back to glorious beautiful Miqo'te - where my H.Allagan Healing Thigh boots are given the respect they deserve.
Glorious boots...
Lalas are the Gingers of FFXIV! They have no Souls! They are the source of all evil in Eorzea! Also beware of Lalas taking Up-Skirt Shots!
Why would you join the bottom of the food chain?

She's elezen female now, but I had a lot of fun as a lalafell. I'm making another lalafell as soon as Hyperion opens up for new characters... hopefully after maintenance.
Don't do it. You'll hate yourself
There's nothing wrong with being a Lalafell, just realize that you'll be sacrificing the supreme goodness that is the miqo'te race and all of its magnificent... um... stats... in exchange for walking around a little chubby, too short to see anything, and people asuming you are 10.
(In all seriousness, make an alt and try it out. I like my character too much to ever change him, but i guess i have a background from diffirent games where characters arent disposed when a new skillset build is found to be 0.3% more effective)

I would agree with some people here and say make an alt and try to play one for a bit. I made an Elezen and couldn't handle her movements at all and switched back to Miqo'te. Same thing as a Lala, I like seeing where I am when I get homings in t8, and I don't find the emotes cute at all. My alt was a lala because I thought it'd be nice as a healer, but the raid members were just spamming the lala emotes and demanded that I'd join them, couldn't handle it and made her a Hyur, now my main will go Roe once I finish making her.
It's more about how they feel to play than what they look like, I have switched between Lala and Hyur a couple times and each time i forget how very different they feel.
Lala's animation for running etc is different in that they look like they are running faster as their legs move quicker but are actually running the same speed. The same with the mounts! Now i'm a Hyur again mounts seem sooooo slow! They aren't really but they seem because they are bigger and legs move slower.
The other thing about Lala's is that when you are in battles where you have to stack tight.... it's a nightmare to see where your character is sometimes which can get you into trouble like Titan Ex.
thank you all for this info!! i think i will make an alt at some point to see if i like it, but from the pix they look cute and all but i try and make my girls sexy and you really cant get sexy on a child like person..... i might just make one for my daughter.
I loved being a lala, it was awesome while it lasted. The camera angles were horrible tho, so I went back to what I originally created my character as.
I used to be a lala too I loved it but the camera angles were horrible and also my gear didnt look as cool as it is right now with my hyur however I miss all the funny emotes and the way how they walk, I'm on the same position of where I have to decide the awesome looks of my hyur or the fun that I can get with a lala avatar. Also I was on a only lala guild I had to leave since after I changed, I miss that guild too.
See, I had the opposite experience. I switched to Lalafell from Elezen and the switch in camera angles was actually a breath of fresh air for me. I ran around the entire world, just seeing this slightly different for the first time and really enjoying it. It's worn off now, of course, but I still zoom up really close to enjoy it from time to time.
