Should SE implement a loot roll timer? (Especially for ST)

A few times I've come across a huge playerbase that likes to take advantage of those with a tight gaming schedule and not roll on the last piece of loot on Circus tower. Everyone wants the UAT, sands, oils, and even the minion but trying to force users out that don't have time to wait is a bit absurd and rude. We all (maybe not all) worked together to get towards the end so why does the comradery stop when it's time to get the last piece of loot?

Please look into having like a 30sec-2min final timer for the final loot. I'm not sure how to handle those that d/c but maybe someone has a decent suggestion for this. This is for those that don't have infinite time to wait to see if others will roll for their loot. They know that users might just drop out so it causes some colorful conversations.

People that play this game have families, work, other important errands to do so this leaves those troll characters that have the time to troll others more control over what happens.

For CT, you just finished a dungeon that took up to or longer than an hour. Is another 3mins really going to make or break your plans? That's a bit less time than a wipe would waste too

EDIT: to be less snarky, there is a timer on each dungeon. If you don't have the time 'set aside' to play til that timer runs out (factors in wipes, low DPS, etc) you shouldn't be in the dungeon. Never expect a 'quick' run when with randoms especially (which is everything with ct), always leave time for error. 3mins at the end is negligible compared to the 60 to 120 min dungeon timers

ST is fine while it still has the loot lockout it's when it's lifted we'll get problems.

No offence OP, but im not sure if you're whether being really naive, or living in a different dimension.

Doesn't it go beyond just three minutes? I'm or sure people were troll rolling up to ten minutes before the alliance chat got super heated.

Each chest has a 3 min timer before loot drops, rolls cast or not.

It's a 5 minute timer. As I said in another thread, SE gives us 5 minutes to decide what to do with the loot. It is the player's prerogative whether or not to use the full 5 minutes. If the item isn't worth waiting 5 minutes for then do you really need it?

Honestly, the five minute timer is a little excessive. I feel like it could easily be dropped to about 3 minutes, but I could easily be overestimating players' communicative capabilities there.

I'm on the same page than PArcher on this one: if you don't have 3 more mins for your gameplay, get in when you first login the game, not 1 hour before your 'planned' gaming time ends.

But on the same page then OP - People mash 1-2-3-4-5 etc.. all the time. Loot comes - even if not from CT - it's from every dungeons! - they are like "nah, I don't need it, so I don't need to click on pass.. the timer will make it 'quicker' <- yeah right.

That is common courtesy, and it takes just one click versus that mount that you will use to DPS that mob. So come on and wake up.

Now - The last drops of every dungeon: people that want the drop, will wait until the end to click greed (or need if there is 2 same jobs), hoping you will (it's a mental battle) give up and get out.

Very childish. But seeing as of how everyone wants to use 3rd apps to gain 'the edge' in this fun game.. *shrugs

Same with commendations: It takes 2 second to open, choose and click. I don't care if you don't select me: just do it.

It's not a Solo game, so play along please.

I was pretty sure loot timers were 300 secs. I don't have a lot of time to play either, but since it likely took me over 3,000 seconds to get there, I will wait if I have to. Is it rude for people to intentionally not roll? Yes. Can I do anything about it but whine and moan? No. But loot timer does exist, and as with anything, people will try to push every boundary they can.

You open the loot window (1 second) - there is 2 items! you check the item one-by-one (3 seconds for one) then - you know if you want it or not. (1 second) You click need/greed.. or PASS. (1 second) you go to the next one (3 seconds) - you know if you want it or not. (1 second) You click need/greed.. or PASS. (1 second)

1 Minute would be sufficient. But let's say some would be stressed and click the wrong button.. ok, 2 minutes max.

Then again, if all 24 peeps open their windows at around the same time, there is no way in hell to have to wait until the timer is near the end.

I accept the challenges anytime, and if you rolled 1 and hope, I would get a 2 ;)

Well looks like I was mistaken and taking a bit of flack for it too. It's alright really and it seemed longer to me. I will continue to stick up for those people that have tight schedules and their playtime is always pushed by kids or wife/fiancé aggro and the like. Hell, I founded a whole FC on that notion and it's by no means is a small FC.

Seems like people that want to troll and those that back their different behaviors will always exist. Champions of the poor and downtrodden unite..

Atleast implement an auto-pass if you cannot roll for loot again that week.

I had this happen to me, didn't really bother me when i won my oil. I rolled need on the oil and passed the tomestone early Tuesday morning, someone else decided to wait till the last moment and 3 people dropped(possibly due to the wait).
Then my roll of 15 won me the oil, though I seriously considered dropping due to my roll though. Couldn't have been more pleased.

^^^ This. Are they being dicks? Yes. But suggesting that you zoned in and said "I have EXACTLY 45 minutes and I have to leave" and expecting the dungeon to be done and over by then is insanity.

If you were ok with the time it took to kill the boss. You have 3 more minutes.

1st day of CT2 FC member rolled a 6 on the UAT. He zoned out because he assumed he couldn't win with a 6.... No one else rolled -_-

I appreciate the 5 minutes as it gives you time in Coil to discuss and decide on lots and allows disconnected players to get a chance. I know I sometimes need to verify if I need something as well (If it's for an off class) which can mean a min or two checking inventory/armory chest.

There are several problems with this. Not everyone instantly knows what they need/want. If a bit of WHM gear drops, I might have to look at the stats, look at my current gear, decide if it's a decent upgrade or sidegrade, and roll accordingly. On top of that, tanks usually don't wait until the loot's dropped to start the next fight. I might be busy healing/SSing/buffing and have to wait for a lull in the fight to take a look at the gear.

I mean I agree intentionally holding off is a tacky thing to do... but 300s isn't that long and it can be helpful, especially for chests before the final one. (And... you want people to have time to watch cutscenes without missing the loot).

Basically there are legitimate reasons for holding off, busy with fight or checking stats against current gear and so. And of course DCs and such.

Yes, the timer starts from when the chest is opened, not from when you personally press the button to look at the loot. People might not click the loot button the very second that another person opens the chest...

Maybe I'm confused. The current system does have a loot timer. A 5 minute timer.

Are you asking for the timer to be reduced or something?

I would have to give an emphatic no to this. I've seen someone DC the moment a fight ended. They only got their loot because the timer was long enough to get back into the game. I care more about them getting their loot than for you complaining about being forced to wait 5 minutes.
