Which classes to focus for Desynthesis?

Since we can only have 3 classes at 100 Desynthesis skill, which 3 would you guys recommend?

I\\'m currently working on GSM, to eventually break down Artisan Spectacles. I was thinking BSM 2nd, to be able to craft new 3 star weapons for profit. Unsure about 3rd, maybe WVR or LTW to break down dungeon armor drops.

Or would it perhaps be better to have 4 classes at 75 Desynthesis skill rather than 3 at 100?

For me it will be what am I the most likely to have as High level gear drop. Started CUL but very disappointed.

I main SCH so probably GSM, WVR and ALC for me.

Gsm bsm and undecided on 3rd prob wvr or ltw

From what I understand every level in Desynthesis counts towards the 300 point total, and all classes 30 (40?) + automatically have a desynthesis level of 1, which counts towards the 300 maximum. Which means if you have all DoH to 50, you can only get 2 classes to 100 and the third one to 95, because you'll have 5 classes with a Desynth level of 1.

In addition to that, simply leveling a class' Desynth skill has the possibility of lower another class' skill by a small amount, even if you haven't met the 300 skill cap. Check this threat out http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...ing_under_cap/

Is this true?

Pros and cons:

ALC: lots of primal weapons inc all titan weapons. Mossy weapons also easy to spam. essential if you want to farm titan demi's
ARM: fair amount of dungeon drops, but no primal weapons. unique distinction of easiest pentamelded i70's (tank body/leg 4 slots before overmeld)
BSM: lots of primal weapons, most of the crafter i70 mainhands (i've heard conflicting reports about mastercrafts from specs, confirm/deny?)
CRP: a few primal weapons
CUL: unique drops if you're a master fisher, no other benefits, no battlecraft/fieldcraft demis
GSM: easiest i55 synth, lots of dungeon accessories and a few circlets, couple of primal weapons, artisan's specs
LTW: some dungeon drops, only 1 primal weapon (mog fists)
WVR: few dungeon drops, no weapons

imo BSM GSM ALC CUL have highest potential, doing BSM GSM CUL on my main character, GSM ALC CRP on alt for best primal weapon coverage.

ARM/LTW/WVR are lackluster with no unique benefits CRP is also lackluster, if I only had one character I'd go BSM GSM and either ALC or CUL. Maybe ALC CUL GSM.

GSM is a must for desynthing artisan specs.

Since I have not gone down the path yet, why all this focus on weapons? IME any DoW/M gear will drop battlecraft, and DoH/L gear will drop fieldcraft.

The Goal of Desynthesis is essentially to obtain rare/expensive Primal Demimateria from Primal Weapons in order to craft upgraded glowy versions of those weapons (i95) which will also be expensive.

Long story short. Gil/Vanity.

Because all crafts other than cul are essentially the same in other respects, except for the distinction gsm and wvr have about the i70 DoH hats.

Nah, there are other goals, mostly around making the mats for the other new synths, but again, you can get that done with all crafts, so essentially it's all crafts are the same except the primal weapons that can be desynthed, the i70 craft hats, and how easy it is to farm dungeon drops, though that last one's not that big a deal, especially since GSM ends up ahead for that factor, but was already ahead due to more important factors.

I'd concentrate primarily on GSM (I am anyway). I guess it depends on what you want to be able to do. GSM is going to be the fastest/ cheapest/ easiest to level and get fieldcraft demimateria/ mastercraft demimateria. That's most of what I care about right now. My crafting classes aren't currently up to the challenge of i95 primal weapons, though I suppose there'd be a decent market just for selling those demimaterias. Still, I don't plan on spamming those fights enough to even have a surplus of items to desynth.

You can take advantage of a lot of the desynth content with a single class. CUL is different and the primal stuff is spread around a bit. I would just think about what you want to get out of the system and go form there.

so i'm confused, there isn't a lot of details i have found anywhere, is the max desynth level 100? and you can max 3 classes in desynth?

Should be able to except since SE has made the same mistake they did when they implemented the # on inner quiet (says 1 when there's 0 stacks), all your classes start at 1, so you get capped @ 100, 100, 95 because of the other 5 crafts. I'm sure ending up at something like 99, 99, 98 you'd have effectively the same chances at desynthing as you would if SE made the rest 0's like they should have.

Desynthesis isn't required to craft certain items, but it helps in acquiring materials to craft these items. All of the crafting classes can obtain field/battle demimateria(except cul). Only a select few can obtain mastercraft demimateria as far as we know. Personally I would first and foremost go with gsm, you can pretty much obtain any demi from this class except titan demi and a clear winner in obtaining mastercraft demi. It is really up to you for the next two classes. Are you going to actually go back and do hm primals to get the weapons to desynth? Then I would go with BSM/ALC for the wide range of weapons you can break down. I really don't see any use for ARM/WVR/LTW except for breaking down dungeon gear for battlecraft 3s, but you can already do that with gsm. I think for the most versatility I would go with GSM/BSM/ALC. Just my opinion...

I guess we are on different paths. I am eyeing all the iL75 tools. Most expensive doesn't always translate to most profitable.
