When patch 2.3 came out I was super excited to return to FFXIV after being away for awhile. I love PvE content but I am also a huge PvP player. I came back and started working on getting my PvP gear which I thought would be a big help thanks to the morale stat. When I found out morale didn't even count in Frontlines it was a slap in the face. What is the purpose of PvP gear. Square please address this. That makes no sense. Or perhaps you can make PvP content for more hardcore players. Also please make the queue based on your FC and not each individual player. I know people have made threads about this and I am sorry to make another one. I just really would like SE to fix or address this issue.

The issue is the only place you can use the gear is the Wolves Den and now that no one is doing the Wolves Den PvP gear is all but useless. I have been in the queue now for 30 minutes...What good is earning points to use gear that you can not use?

Well, they should never have added it in in the first place, The PvP gear should have been glamor only, glamor that works in pvp zones.
SE did the best thing by creating a ilvl wolves den and frontlines as ilvl synched. As it allows new players to compete on the same level (baring actual experience) and those who PvP casually to nter when they want and still be on the same level, Players which would be driven away by gear which would allow those who can or want to dedicate more time to PvP.
Which overall increases the pool of potential players as they arent being demolished based on gear. Which increases overall PvP activity.
Asa real example. SWTOR: During the honeymoon time of that MMO when players where still levelling, PvP acticity was massive due to the synching competition was pretty balanced. Then when they added more and more powerful PvP rewards that active PvP population diminished exponentiolly with each increase in PvP gear tier.
PvP should be competitive and fun. Not another gear grind. Keep that to PvE.
If the only reason you PvP is for gear, then you aren't, honestly, a PvPer. -

Anyway up to now there is something wrong with Frontline & PvP Gear.
Frontline earn a lot of Wolf Marks, Wolf marks can be used only for PvP Gear,
but these gear are less powerful than normal gear ilvl 100.
Probably they shouldn't made the Morale at all, but now they have to remove
it enerily or atleast modify it for Frontline.
In my opinion they could lower its effectiveness when you are in a party with
an high amount of Morale and other party hasn't it.
Anyway in frontline u will see someone with a low gear and other with High gear,
and with few campaign (even if you lost them all) u can buy your Lv 70 Pvp Gear. -

Even if I love Morale (and Gear for what I was fighting for) I thought that for those
gear if they remove morale, they can implement 4 slot for materia melding and let you
attach just the PvP materias to it.
Also they could make other materia that are more useful in party, for example:
a materia with a stat that make the LB charge a little faster,
a materia with a stat that rouse the healing from other members
(or even from other party of your alliance that sometimes they ignore you xD)
a materia that work like morale but only against monster (drones)
a materia that make your movement a little faster
...
So you all will be able to have a personalized pvp gear but with it
you wouldn't be able to oneshot a player that don't wear it. :)
These was just suggestions >-<
But I hope that something will change I wouldn't collect PvP gear just for lock other space
in my inventory xD -

If morale was a stat in Frontline guess what, nobody would queue for it.
Be glad morale doesn't work in the actual FUN PvP Square has created.
Trying to kill a Scholar is hard enough in Frontlines, I'd rather not have them get tank defense from armor you wintraded for. -
07-16-2014, 10:59 AMSolRisingI have to agree with his. Morale killed Wolfs Den. Wolf's Den was fun the first week, then after the first week people such as myself quit pvping all together. It doesn't make sense to go into PvP and see a healer do the most heal and most dmg across the board. That is what you are going to see with Morale. One-two shooting people without morale gear is no fun for anyone(it's a huge handicap, no skill, no team work required). If they did allow morale gear, you will not see anyone que for it, just like you did not see anyone Que for Wolves Den(Unless you count the people that did "win trades" PvPing..)Quote:

I think wolves den died because it was a simple 4v4 with no variety. The queue times + >2 min matches made it unappealing. Morale in Frontlines people would still queue frontlines because its a lot of fun and most people prefer objective base pvp over arena.
I also knew of a really dedicated and good pvper WHM who only queued in pve gear and was still topping teams with full ilvl90/100. He was R30-something. PvP gear with morale never allowed for one or two shotting. You probably got focused and didn't use your defensive cooldowns or purify the smn dots, or utility moving, or pillar/los blocking, or any number of reasons why you could have gone down super fast. -

Going out on a limb here, but does anyone actually believe they're not going to create a "ranked" frontline once more than about 12 people actually are able to participate and get gear? Such impatience.
