Anyone else wish they could expand their inventory more?

After coming back to the game for patch 2.3 I just realized how cluttered things are with the retainers when one is doing gathering, crafting, and stashing vanity gear. I don't normally wish for cash shop items, but at this point I'd probably pay money to get more inventory tabs on my retainers at the very least. Maybe even a third retainer.

Anyone else got this "pack rat" sort of issue with their character and wish there was a way to get more space? :)

You can purchase 2 additional retainers through the Mogstation as an additional service. It adds to your subscription fee per month (so it's not a 1 time purchase).

But there is a limit to how much inventory you can be given as it takes up resources for each person. So at some point you also need to learn to manage your available inventory as best as you can.

I always horde in games like this. The armoire in the inn room is all but useless, I can only put 2 things out of my whole inventory in it. Need more options.

Yes we need bigger armoury chest and inventory.

This game has much more inventory space than any other MMO but I can see it being a problem when you lv up several combat, gathering, crafting classes which doesn't happen in other games.

One solution for vanity hoarders would be to convert a complete set into one single item and maybe even equip it to a mannequin at your room.

GW2 had a nice way of organizing crafting materials too.

I don't care about inventory space but I do wish I could store sets of gear that I'm not currently not using to some place away from my personal inventory (I'm looking at your useless armoire...).

You actually have 200 slots in memory but 75 are reserved for key items and 18 for crystals.
What I wish this game had was a crafting locker. Like in GW2. It's a separate inventory that had pre-allocated spots for ingredients.

Maybe one day they will add a moogle quest, which after putting a specific bed in your personal house, he will ask you to bring him weird items like a shrimp lure and selbina butter, and next day brings you back an expanded bag

300 Armoury Chest Spaces (25 ring, 25 main hand, etc.)
300 Retainer Spaces (default without purchasing more retainers, extra 300 if you buy two more)
Unlimited Armoire storage for AF, most event items, etc.

700 slots for items, 1,000 if you buy two retainers. What could you possibly own that takes up that must space?

Well trying to get all classes and jobs to 50 can do that, Armoury Chest is full to the brim with gear to use and for future use. So much so that its bled into my inventory because there isnt enough room. Also with the crafting classes, holding onto materials to use to level and keeping items for future use because said crafting class isnt high enough yet to use. Then there is keeping gear for the retainers to wear as they level. Also the fact that each item has two versions, Regular Quality and High Quality, so that can take up two slots for each.

6 pieaces of gear per set X 9 jobs for each set = 54 slots per set tier.

So assuming you don't collect weapons or need space for anything else. at max you can hold just under 13 tiers of gear.

Af, i55, i60, 2xi70, i80, 2xi90, 2xi100, i110, plus a few low level sets worth keeping already hits 13.

Give or take 100 to 200 slots for situations where jobs share pieces, it still adds up to a huge amount of space. And then there is crafting...

.....I also like weapons too X_X

I'd love to see a way to store unique items into the armoire XD. I like to collect one of each item, plus I imagine for those who use the glamour system that'd be useful.

I'm just a gear hoarder lol

Its the inventory space that's a killer. Working my ARM, LTW and FSH classes takes up a ton of inventory. Tackle and bait alone being a fisher will take up half that space, then trying to catch specific fish for Levequests or FSH quests ate up alot, as you couldn't pick what fish you caught, you caught what ever you caught until you got the right one. Though now you can release back so that helps alot. If I want to use my FSH class I need to unload all my ARM and LTW supplies to one of my retainers and that eats up a ton of their space

I keep waiting for our furniture to have storage options. I'd fill my whole room (and then personal house) with roomy cupboards for hoarding crafting mats and the like :3

More inventory space would be great... then again, I don't think it be in their best interest, since they are selling more storage via a monthly $2-$4 subscription.

Don't forget the lovely ATMA pieces and other unstackables like Phoenix Downs .....

The more it has to keep track of, the more the game database has to work to make sure that everything is where it is supposed to be. Remember, even if you have it closed, the game still has to maintain your inventory.

I'd be better off if they gave us a list of items back instead of the bags we currently fumble around with.

I'm reallyhoping they are developing some sort of truncated data scheme through the use of the armoire. If it could just accept a full set of gear and turn that into a single item that says you own it, then the amount of data needed for such items would be greatly diminished. The down side to this is that all pieces stored can not be used untill called for and all meta data (spiriting bonding/item condition) would be lost but at least It could be re-obtained without the hassle of farming everything back.

Pretty much this. I want you to picture the entire SE forums in one block of text. Everyone's opinions, comments, every language, everything in one block of text.

Now multiply that by 1000.

THAT'S how big the character database is for inventory alone. And I might even be underestimating thinking about it.

Yeah i dont get this argument. I mean I can empathize with the OP and the idea of running out of inventory space. But I dont understand leveling more than one thing (seriously) at a time. I am currently leveling Weaver and WHM after having a 50 CUL, BOT, FSH, MNK, PLD, SMN, BLM. So i have a ton of jobs, but my inventory is only full when i was carrying around a bunch of lures/baits.

For all the other jobs, i just Spiritbind as i level, break it down, or store the really important stuff i wanna keep, like AF and such, on one of my retainers. And with all my classes that only takes up two tabs on one of my retainer's inventory.
