PBC and DGKK Hunting

Greetings from PBC and DGKK

Senior management would like to remind you of the concept of confirmation bias, as http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/ranking/ one of the top 3 most active FC's in the world you are probably going to see us at hunting locations. Statistically speaking on the Excalibur server you are most likely to see us more than anyone else. This does not mean we are doing anything unique or special in regards to hunting or conspiring to exclude other members of the community. We continue to wish for cooperative and fun interactions with the rest of the community.

Kind of wish I would have screenshot all the horrible things your FC has been shouting. Or is this the accusations that are flying about the Radar usage?

I saw a shout saying something along the lines of "I'm the leader of PBC and we pull what we want, we don't care about you scrubs" I'll screenshot it next time I see it.

I love the massive tone change from the first post to the responses there. Kind of shows some things eh? But don't worry. Either your group will stop being asses in shout now or I'll easily be able to take screenshots later, either way it's kind of a win here...or I can not really care anymore...aaaaaand I'm going with that one. Because more than anything, this was posted in the Excalibur forums and anyone that has been to any of these hunts has already seen it.

Gee, it's almost like the posts weren't all from the same person!

(Pretzel's posting aside, although I'd argue that the tone was about what would be warranted by the "we have no evidence but you're bad" kind of argument. I just felt it was worth being a bit more tactful.)

I personally would love to see the screenshots of PBC members being heinous jerks because I suspect they will prove people ITT don't understand jokes and/or sarcasm.

I apologize for my previous behavior. Here at PBC™ Oil and Lumber Manufacturing Industrial, we enjoy a bit of good-natured ribbing, but we take all complaints and criticisms about our behavior inside and outside of the workplace very seriously. I hope you can forgive me, and we can have the aforementioned cooperative and fun interactions with the community of the glorious server of Excalibur.

I kind of wish people took screenshots too since every time PBC/DGKK has been accused of something it always ends up "well I didn't see it, but my friend did and he doesn't remember the character name, and I don't remember my friend's character name. Totally happened though!"

We're going to be at most hunts because there's EIGHT HUNDRED of us, not some nefarious plot. And most times we arrive late, because the people actually cheating just have to go "goons messed it up!" and everyone just goes along with it. My grand total of 234 seals is a testament to that.

In my personal experience, the FC will wait for people in their groups to arrive before pulling and typically won't call out hunts in FC chat because it's understood that someone else is going to end up pulling and killing them before any PBC or DGKK can get there and it's not worth the trouble to even do hunts at the moment. We complain about people pulling early and missing out on marks just as much as anyone else, and hope it gets altered soon to be less of a competition.

I wake up every morning and I stare at myself in the mirror; sunken eyes, jaundiced cheeks, strands of white in the hair, a new crease in the forehead, receding gums. And I scream to myself, It's not us! Damn it, it's not us! I fight back the urge to just end it all, to escape this persecution, this hatred. But no. I push forward. I tell myself things can get better; another lie to make it through the misery that is the next twenty-four hours.

I choke down a mug of terrible coffee while I read the news. The headlines are all the same. PBC steals another hunt mark, FC graduated to 'Double Hitler' status. I murmur under my breath, it's not us. Damn it, it's not us. I change my shirt three or four times, staining the fronts with tears, before I'm too numb to care, at least for the moment. It lasts long enough to get me to my car, the tires slashed, the windows smashed in, the words "THIEVES GO HOME" spray-painted across the hood.

I hate taking the bus. It's nothing but angry glares, racial epithets and insults aimed at my gender and sexual preferences. I want to shout, I want to yell, I want to tell them, but no matter what I do it only echoes inside my own head: it's not us. Damn it, it's not us.

I show up at the office, and the boss is already waiting for me. He looks worse than I do. I'm honestly surprised HE hasn't ended it all. Instead, it's two, three, four, five, six, seven, EIGHT hours of discussing, theorycrafting, strategizing, how do we get them all to believe? The day ends, and we're no closer than we were when it began. They just don't understand, and I don't think we can ever make them.

It's not us. Damn it, it's not us.

Do you think this is a game? To imply I was being ironic, even in the slightest... congratulations, you're part of the problem. You're the reason we're so hated. I try, I try! Every single day, I'm out there, pounding the pavement, shaking hands, kissing babies, answering questions and suffering insults, to try and make the masses see who we truly are! We hold ourselves to the highest of standards, but with over 800 members across two Free Companies, there are bound to be some bad apples. Myself and a few other God-fearing patriots do our best to present ourselves as the heroes we are, but please forgive us for the few that would rather destroy this realm than save it.

I don't really care about the Hunting claims and all the other shenanigans because I really just hop in and out of the hunting scene as time allows. You can say you're joking all you like when you shout the things that your FC was shouting, but that's not what it really is now is it? Beyond that, I'm perfectly fine with the bad eggs in a 500 member group scenario as well. However, you can't expect us to not say ANYTHING about it if no actions are being taken within. A ton of us saw the "I'm the leader of PBC/we don't care about you scrubs" line and it really just paints the whole picture in a light very far away from the spirit of the beginning of this thread.

I agree, PBC is ruining the integrity of killing monsters.

How do you interpret an obvious tongue-in-cheek phrase "I am the leader of Please Be Careful and I ruin every hunt with my terrible FC full of bad people" that is an obvious response to baseless claims of radar hacking et cetera into an outright attack against the server?

It's simple. If we were all the evil hivemind of jerks that people want to paint us as, we would have the hunts on lockdown without cheating, because, again, there's EIGHT HUNDRED of us and posting people at every spawnpoint on the map would be trivial with a bit of coordination. Unfortunately for the people insistent that we're the cancer of the server, we're simply a large social guild and a great deal of us are doing hunts casually or not at all, and the reason you're seeing us everywhere is that there's a ton of us and the ones that ARE doing hunts seriously are either using the same resources that groups like BG are using (which are not hacks, people are quickly figuring out the spawn timers for marks and coordinating data) or are communicating with those groups directly.

Don't you come in here with your "logic" and "reason", Mara.
