Trouble with Defiance

I just ran Tam-Tara HM for the first time with some FC friends, and I had a very difficult time keeping competing aggro down. I NEVER have trouble staying at the top of the list unless I forget Defiance, and this was incredibly frustrating since the aggro table was behaving like Defiance wasn't active. I haven't done any further study on this, but if anyone else has similar observations, let's note them here. If I'm not the only one, perhaps the patch borked Defiance...

I had some trouble on PLD with a BLM today, but I think that's just cause of the boost.

Pretty sure its because the new extreme dungeons are more "extremish" than the last ones... Yesterday I went for the first time to THE STONE VIGIL an man, as a ilvl99 war got some pretty nasty hits from dragons, I got some hits around 2700!! With that you need to watch carefully for hate, as a whm or sch healing, at sometime they are going to take hate if you don't roll between targets.

Pretty fun! Speed runs are good for myths but this new dungeons are pretty badass

I agree, the new dungeons are pretty fun. SV boss is entertaining since he can't really be tanked per se. xD

Mobs hit hard on the new dungeons, even at item level 100 average

I didnt have many aggro issues though.

I lost aggro on 2 mobs on the 3 new dungeons combined, which is sad because I never lose aggro, but it was everyone's first time, so I'm not too worried and I know the mobs I lost aggro to were mobs I was not hitting for a while, so no big surprises.

Lol yah, me too... I lost it once cause the healer was dpsing and then benediction-me for 7k! All but my main targets went to him lol, but after that, it's ok...

Rolled both War and Pld last night. Had no issues with Threat.

Yeah, that's the issue I had. We run together a lot so I'd gotten used to a certain level of hate from him, which has now been boosted. It just took a little bit of adjustment is all. ;D

I read this and kept an eye out for it myself. Never had an issue last night in Expert Dungeons, all Second Coil, or Syrcus Tower. Hopefully no ghosts in the system like with ShO/SwO swaps from a patch or two ago. Good to keep on the lookout for at least.

I noticed some issues with hate but I'm pretty sure it was because they are new dungeons and when by get used to them and mechanics, mob spawn points etc it should be easier . Blm buff was obvious too

I don't have any enmity issues personally, but I'm also using str accessories. I have heard of many paladins struggling with keeping hate since the patch.

Ran a dungeon with a WAR who pulled more than we could chew in Hullbreaker. We wiped, which was w/e but then he kept losing hate. I could tell he was spamming his combos and the dps were not necessarily overgeared. At one point in the second boss I ripped hate healing and all the dps were at the top of the meter. He was also getting trucked every pull. I asked him to turn off and on Defiance to see if it helped and it fixed the issue.

I've seen other tanks complaining so my guess is there's a bug with the auto recast after deaths.

I have similar experience.

My experience with it is a bit different; with Defiance up I have no noticeable issue (even after a death), but with it off my hate gen isn't nearly what it use to be.

Had this issue randomly in T8 last night. . WAR wasn't able to establish hate in one of the pulls. Turned off and on Defiance and it was instantly resolved. His HP reflected it as active but the aggro table was behaving as though it was off. The rest of the pulls it seemed to recast fine.

This would fit... an intermittent problem where some times it works and other not. And why some are not reporting problems and others are.

Come on SE dumbest shit ever... the only issue before this is if a pld get raised in combat they have to wait to apply ShO... now enmity occasionally works.

Since I read this post, I have recasted Defiance at the starting of every content, and no any trouble then.
