Speculation for 2.X end.

Im guessing 2.4 will bring BCoB to a close and 2.5 will be the final sector to CT as a way to gear alts for BCoB 3...afterwards, 2.5 will have the final primal threat as all beast tribes will be defeated ushering a new era of threats across Eorzea in foreign lands to deal w/ in 3.0 landing sometime in april or may 2015. makes sense to me...what are u guys thoughts?

I'm guessing that in 3.0 all war will be over, and a new gold era of peace and happiness will begin. Then we'll all be playing a Final fantasy style version of animal crossing... maybe.

Really though, I'm sure they'll finish if the behmaut and Crystal tower arcs before 3.0, aside from that, I don't know.

I hope they end Coil already. The atmosphere is getting old.

There seems to be 2 more coils. Upon clearing t5, we see something being recovered with 3 streams of energy. Upon clearing t9, we shut down 1 stream of energy with 2 more left. Also, we may not get to fight Bahamut if we shut down all the streams before things happen.

It should go to 2.6 (or 2.7) at least.

They will probably finish BCoB and Ct by 2.5 like you say, but the big thing I want to know is what about Bahamut?
Not sure a being the size of a city-state could be taken down by just one 8 man.

Well the main storyline is, as seen from the 2.3 trailer, heading towards Ishgard. From the small teaser info given about the expansion, add in taking to the skies. Thoughts are heavily towards Ishgards war with the dragons. I've a sneaky suspicion the divide that is highlighted in the main scenario quests is caused by the Ascians controlling key individuals within the Ishgardian hierarchy.

i see what your saying but, 2.6 would release in late july/aug w/ expac (2.4 years after release) and 2.7 would make it like (2.10-11 yrs after release)..they said they have an 18 month-2 year xpac roadmap....3-4 months after 2.5 fits that perfectly....also releasing xpc 3-4 months after 2.6 closly fits that window by 4 months over expected xpac release, i dont think they will wait that long...especially since the are gonna announce the xpac in a couple of months

That's an interesting theory, and certainly more plausible than the Holy See being tempered. Maybe the Ascians have promised the Holy See a means to defeat the Dragons, and as such Ishgard is allied with the Ascians. This could have certain implications for the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

We will arive in Ishgard sooner than you think. The current Story update in patch 2.3 allready leads there. So I'm guessing till the and of the year we will have an expansion that opens us Ishgard territory. Don't know if we still fight Bahamut then tough.

The expansion is suppose to be about flying right? In the exp Bahamut will be set free and we will set after him on our Airships. and Yoshi said in one of his interviews that 2.0 ending will be almost as intense as the 1.0 ending. I need more FFXIV.

I hope so too, getting tired of it the only end game with lockout. I would not want to see Binding Coil Turn 20, etc. The sci fi red and blue is pretty cool, but I agree the atmosphere is getting old and boring.

They need to have other end game raiding beside coil.

I want to see The Binding Coil of Bahamut: Turn 6、turn 7、turn 8、　and turn 9。It would be awesome for confusing the community.

pretty sure they said coil would end before 3.0 but CT was going to run over past 3.0 somewhere.....

I'm not expecting the expansion until 2 years after ARR's release, so some time fall 2015. I believe there will be 2 more BC and CT updates past 2.3.

I respect your view, but i also kinda thinks its weird for 2.3 to have a direct correlation with Ishgard if xpac was a year and 4 months away. IMO thats waaaay early to bring pre xpac storyline in if it was that far off. My money is on 2.5 being final...theres only so much BCoB ppl can take XD

if thats the case this game is sunk. many people are already starting to be level 50 on all classes. this game needs new real estate badly. i see no reason they cant have 2 plotlines going at the same time.

seriously though FFXI had how many different plotlines going at the same time in its hayday? original main city missions(and many of the quests), RoZ, CoP, ToAU, WoTG yes I know this isn't FFXI but if they could do all of these plots they can most certainly do a lot of plots at once in FFXIV

My suspicions on why 2.4 will be the last patch before expansion pack:

• Patch 2.5 has never been announced or mentioned, but 2.4 and 3.0 has. We knew about 2.1-2.4 since Fall '13
• Syrcus Tower has almost all of the remaining bosses in Crystal Tower.
• Expansion pack details will be revealed this fall (either Fan fest or TGS)
• 2.3 and 2.4 are already prepping us for new races, locations and classes.

Be VERY careful about using the word "final" when it comes to content like CT and other things before an expansion is up for sale.
Square Enix is well-known, and notorious, for selling basically empty discs and not finishing content before the next expansions are sold. They started it with FF XI's "Wings of the Goddess" expansion which took many years until the included main story was finally delivered, they tried it again with XIV 1.0, and I bet it will be part of the future of XIV as well. Expansions from Square Enix usually mean you pay money for a client upgrade and the repeated entry fee for being able to continue your monthly subscription.

Only thing we are really missing from CT is the Cloud of Darkness which I think they confirmed before CT came out. So if there isnt a 2.5, maybe CT and BCoB will both get a update in 2.4.

Sure? To me it feels like there's a lot more to come before it can be called a tower.
Don't forget that, before today's patch 2.3, the tower was not even entered yet. The Labyrinth of the Ancients is only the entrance hall.
But well, SE was always good for some WTF moments :-D

The Syrcus Tower looks to be the climb to the very top of the tower itself, with the fight against Zande at the very top.
In FF III after Zande is defeated the entrance to the World of Darkness is opened. Thats why Im thinking this is gonna end soon.

Completely forgot about Eureka, looks like we may be going there as part of the Syrcus Tower since enemies like Amon and Scylla are appearing as bosses and they appeared in Eureka in FFIII.

Cant wait to see what the new high end raid in 3.0 will bring...also pumped for those new AF models. Mabye sky raids...

Also, judging by Syrcus Tower's ending CS we will only have 1 more addition to it being the World of Darkness.
