Simian Thrash graphic change please!

I know most of the Pugilist are going to rage out over how great the stupid giant purple ball is but it fricken sucks. I hate that I cannot see my character on most mobs because the giant purple ball of doom is in the way.

Grats to Lancers for the badass Doomspike II and Chaos Thrust graphic changes!

Please change Simian Thrash to be less obnoxious graphically and maybe faster with auto attack implemented please :)

Infact, please change most of our Pugilist graphics to be a tad more unique since most of them look lame(duck down and strong arm right hand......yay!).

I'd rather see them remove the "evade" part than change the visual effects. ST isn't even that great of a WS, and because I have to evade for it, I never use it. Jarring strike is much better, less tp and stun.

I have to agree about the effects on Simian Thrash - they it is obnoxious how overwhelming the giant balls of light are and that you can't even see your character's animation while doing the weaponskill.

I also agree about the potency of the weaponskill vs. its functionality. If you are going to make it that difficult to pull off, use buffs with, and have it incapable to use in a BR - then balance that difficulty with a stronger hitting WS or something to make it worth the inconvenience.

Yea it doesn't need a major change, the animation itself is fine. That obnoxiously large purple ball has got to be reduced though.

I almost had a seizure the first time I saw it used on Great Buffalo. Huge, 300 foot balls of light flashing.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the size has been toned down in 1.18?

Pug needs desperate change for all animations. theyre all mostly identical as stated, duck and hit and large ball effect.
Why not be more creative? FFXI monk had some good animations. Asuran fists and others.

Please make every ability unique and have a completely different animation. not duplicate animation with a slight change in ball colour. thats just slack.

Revamp all pug abilities/animations please !

I agree about the ball obly...it shoulf be replaced with some "breaking" battle effect like flying particles everywhere instead of this ball. It was acceptable before, but with the battle effect increase it just became too ugly.

I like most of PGL animations tho...i guess only pounce really would deserve a quick animation revamp. And victimize maybe...even though i like the "burning fist" effect. Better than that only if they make it like those WWF dudes that first use left hand to put the target in position for them beat him with right hand. Also, victimize reminds me a similar action from FFT serie where the monk uses a burning fist action with low accuracy but that destroys the target if lands.

It sucks this thread has really died down. This move needs to have a completely revamped animation. The stupid purple ball needs to go away, you can keep the cherry blossom affect that Chaos Thrust also has cause its kinda pretty but everything else needs to change. I didn't mind the punching animation but with auto attack I think its far too long!!

Change it SE! You ruined us as tanks and made us the red headed step child of the DDs, I demand you make our abilities not look so lame!

P.S. I love that you made my Bloodletter look ignorant as all hell!

We use PGLs to tank the Ogre and Batraal sometimes. They do very good. Plus, the mob drops faster then when using a GLA tank.

I guess you have a good point cause I did off tank Slave but pulled hate very easily which ended my life cause thehealers werent all about healing the PUG :(

Keep the animation its nice, only purple ball needs to go.

I don't really care if the purple balls are there, just make it so we can actually see what we are doing.

Well yeah there is no problem if purple ball becames ultra small again, but this gigandic things needs to be reduced ASAP!
I hope that the community reps are monitoring class sections as well...

I hate the animation its plain as hell but I would be content if they speed the animation up now that auto attack is implemented in the game.

I believe youre the only one that don't like the simian thrash animation.

I love the animation and the sound too...its like i said...just the purple ball is annoying...would be much cooler a particle animation like if you were braking the monster.

Replace "don't" with "doesn't" and you might be right :confused:

You like the animation because you don't realize you aren't getting your auto attack off while its going on. You would have to cancel the animation for the auto attack.

If you LOVE the animation so much that is most fantastic but the animation for it should still be sped up just a tad so it does not overlap the delay from auto attack :)

They increased the spell effect animations cause mages were complaining that their stuff isn't impressive enough, the downside is that they increased the size of EVERY ability animation too, not just spells, so simian Thrash got this purple sun side effect.

The only enemies that allow you to see the actual animation are bugs and marmots.

I kinda wish Seismic Shock was a little like the new Doomspike II. Not a big deal for me since I rarely use SS but man when I see Doomspike II, I always think "In your face!!!". I just feel a lot of our WS have similar graphics if not the same ones :/

every class has to deal with that though. Most of them are full of repeated animations. LNC was heavily boned before the update on WS animations. I think PGL wasn't touched because they already had 2 WS that were a bit different, Seismic Shock and Simian Thrash.

Simian Thrash definitely needs a graphic change. The animations are great, but they can't be seen underneath the pink particle storm.

Just get rid of the silly ass purple ball, speed up the animation and just for me make the finishing part a wild spin kick instead of a slow front flip hammer fist?

IMO just replacing the purple ball with a breaking glass particle effect would be more than enough! ^^ I love these more elaborated animations ^^ Too bad we actually can't see a thing since the ball was resized and started engulfing both character and mob... ; ;

+1 on removing the giant ball and throwing in some kicks. Pugilists should have been full-on martial artists like classic FF designs such as Yang and Sabin from the get-go, if you ask me.
