New Gathering Max-materia Slots

Hoping someone will create a DoL thread similar to this player's post for DoH after patch 2.3 tomorrow so we can learn the new optimum melding for gatherers.

Well...

Each i55 accessory should increase gathering/perception caps by exactly 1 when compared to their <i50 counterparts.

It is as of yet unknown how much the GP cap will be raised and thus whether it will mean anything.

Therefore: Now is not the time to panic about gathering gear at the time it will be most expensive. I'll be surprised(and sad) if we need more than 408 Gathering to gather whatever's necessary for the i75 tools.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if it requires like 440 Gathering, meaning you must have every new accessory overmelded AND with food buff.

except tell me what the point of having this new i75 tool is? If you look at the list of new nodes, its like well mining rocks (most likely the same as the Ferberite and rest of grade2), and for botany its like 2 new nodes...

Somehow I just really do not see a higher stat cap over 408 gathering required to get these (I could of course be wrong, but why bother for very few nodes). I think I would rather just make gathering food than to bother going through with collecting more rocks for that new tool..

well we will find out tomos but chances are they will not require a stat jump in my opinion.

unless we are getting a lot more gathering gear with much better stats caps than just the new tool. either way I will prioritize getting the new tools as quickly as possible. especially for my miner.

Miner/botanist tools were a joke to get anyway; if they're any indication you'll end up with the i75s just cause they're so damn easy.

Also I can confirm from melding i55s on my alt's fisher any i55 accessory is a cap of 4 gathering/perception.

Regardless of how easy it is to get. My point was WHY do we need it lol? Unless the gathering cap is past 405 for the few measly nodes. I don't know... I will probably still gather those stupid nodes for the new tool, but I just don't know WHY lol.

To put the i70 on your retainer, if you haven't farmed another one already, I guess. Maybe even give your retainer the i75, push the hqs from them just a bit higher. idk, the whole decision to bring i75 mainhands and not offhands is definitely odd, can't argue that.

If you need all new gear (left hand side as notes seem to have ilvl 80 items) they should have given a way to get materia back out of current gear.

I just recently got my Botanist fully geared and now this....sigh

The "divine harvest" stuff? Doubt that's gatherer gear just because it seems to be in a series of 6 different types which means most likely DoW/DoM. Also none of those names sound like crafting gear at all and they've so far kept gathering/crafting gear on par except for a few accessories.

i hope your right, but it would be nice to get all/some materia back from old equipment to help with accessories moving forward. I did think it was DOH/DOL as items required were field demateria.

i am not one of those people swimming around in cash due to time limits and spending money to meld. lol
