My Arcanist History: When the game launched I played an arcanist to 39, had both sch and smn. When I came back, I remade my main as arcanist and had hoped the dual job point system would have been fixed in some way other then 10k seals each time you wanted to be viable for the other job.
Upon finding that wasn't the case, I was saddened but continued as Arcanist is the one I love so far. Then, I got to thinking about how to fix the issue and came up with a few ideas I'd like thoughts on. Peronally I prefer something along the lines of #3 below. Thoughts? Other Suggestions?Keeping in mind the thought of enabling both Jobs to be Viable at End Game without constant GC Seal Farming to change out points whenever you need to run the "off-Job".
1) Simplest Solution although not the best, allow Arcanists and Summoners to use Cleric Stance as well, so the class can spec mind. Therefore Scholar has the stat it needs.
2) Second Simplest Solution: free relocation of points for all jobs. the seal bought one is only used for resetting points below 30/no job crystal.
3) Actual Arcanist workaround 1: Level 30 Passive Trait "The Arts" (or some such) that ONLY is in effect when a job soul is equipped, it is not actually "reallocating" the points just enabling every player to utilize both jobs if they desire to. "The Dark Arts" is Summoner's: It automatically switches all (MND) User Added Points into Int while the Summoner Soul is equipped. "The Light Arts" is Scholar's: It automatically switches all (INT) User Added Points into MND while the Scholar Soul is equipped. When neither is equipped, the User Added Points are where you put them. IE: Therefore if you placed points like this 10 INT, 10 MND, 10 PIE; the SCH would act as if it was 20 MND, 10 PIE; the SMN as 20 INT, 10 PIE.
4) Actual Arcanist workaround 2: at 6 arcanist's get both Aetherflow and "Paradigm Shift" This new ability is vastly similar to cleric stance. "Swaps current INT and MND attribute ratings, while increasing potency of healing magic by 15% and reducing potency of attack magic by 15%. Effect ends upon reuse." Cleric Stance increases attack by 10% and reduces healing by 20%, this would be useful for keeping INT as the Arcanist build, but gives a boost to healing even at low levels.

There is only one solution; you gain experience on your job crystal and that's grounds for separating the stats. They screwed themselves because you get 2 jobs by leveling 1 class so they obviously has to be some kind of drawback. Unfortunately, since leveling is easy given the amount of time the game has been out, that it's not a very good system they have created. I've heard Naoki has expressed his disappointment with the 1 class 2 job approach, so it was just a test. Probably going to be subject to possible job revamp in 3.0

That would at least fix the issue, Exstal. Didnt occur to me to make any suggestions to separate them out. Sadly, with 2.4 giving us a new class/job... I kinda doubt any revamps on Jobs would occur at 3.0.

The easiest way is to simply make all bonus points for the class stop at 30 and have the rest of the job points come from the job crystal. Or just make the sch crystal switch the points when equipped from int to mnd since ACN is INT based.
Or and this would be the most drastic one. Remove the option to place bonus stats and just bake them into your stats. -

taking them out completely seems a little drastic indeed, but would work. the Sch crystal switch would take some of the issue out. Separating the 13 points (hitting 30) and the 17 points (hitting 50) to be solely attacked to the job crystal equipped sounds like a good idea

I tried to pull more attention to this thread via my character's blog and if what learned in there is true, attribute points are not nearly as vital as I've been told. at 50, what is the difference between 30mnd points and 15 for a sch? Why does healing increase with weapon damage?

07-09-2014, 10:40 PMYonkothe difference in 30 mind is ~50hp on a physick and ~40 on an adlo (and 40 shield so 80 "hp" loss) yes I've actually done the math. Healing Calculator 1136 vs 1081 for a physick and 852 vs 810 for adlo.Quote:

And healing increases with weapon damage because <hand wave> the magical focus increases with better weapons.</hand wave> It is the magical damage of the weapon that factors into the heals so I can understand why it effects heals using the explanation. -
07-09-2014, 10:46 PMYonkoIt can change depending on the job. For instance the War in my static is almost full STR now since he can easily hit the HP requirements with gear. It allows him to put out a little more DPS which helps with SCoB DPS checks.Quote:

Also, Mind has much less of an impact on healing as Intelligence does on DPS'ing. Potency differences are similar, but healing isn't just about the numbers, it's about using the right skill at the right time. DPS'ing is pretty much the same no matter who's playing the job, so Intelligence is truly just a damage modifier and can't make up the difference based on how well you play your job. Any healing deficiencies has by not spending enough extra points on Mind can be alleviated by playing well.
