Is NINJA a freaking tank!?

Don't blame my thinking, first read my post.

We are already waiting for the claimed rouge class, ninja job but my question is: Is NINJA a freaking tank!?

Let me put this way, when they showed the video you can see and ability were you jump and place yourself at the enemy head, do something and go back to your place ( kinda jump... And omg, freaking awesome )

Well... Think about it because I'm pretty sure this ability needs to be done from the front... I can't see it from any other perspective, do you guys!? And in that thinking, the only job that can be in the front is a tank ( can't see an ability for a dps saying - can only be executed from the enemies front )

What's your opinion guys!? Am I far from the truth or I found something!?

Maybe it's the need arcanist with 2 jobs but this time dps and tank.

You are reading too much into it. The move is performed from the front because the ninja is solo in the video. Ninja is confirmed dps by development.

Again with the Rouge class. Try an exercise, point one finger straight down on each hand. Each time you lower one hand, the other goes up. Place the finger above the "R" key and start typing. Now you can spell R-O-G-U-E correctly.

Lollie, I know he is soloing, but imagine it in game... That move is meant to be cast from the front... From any other side it simply is going to look kinda strange... Imagine a dog tipe enemy, or one that is long, performing it from behind is... Strange... That's my opinion.

And again, pretty sure they confirmed the class is a dps, nothing about the job

He clearly stated that the tank and healer classes/jobs would be implemented in an expancion

Also unlike the mnk and drg it's not reliant on its position to do damage.

Or something to that effect.

Yeah, I know... But here is where my second question comes in.... Where is thief!? Thief is one of the most iconic jobs in all ff games... :( and a 3rd one... With the first new class (arcanist) they gave us 2 jobs, why are they going to change that just now!?

He has confirmed that both are DPS. It would make absolutely no sense for a class to be a DPS and its only job to be a tank. Yoshi has also said, numerous times, that Ninja as a tank is simply ludicrous.

They have in fact confirmed ninja is a dps numerous time, and if you want to use a comparable, spineshatter and dfd also animate hitting the mob from the front on pin point targets. You can hope and dream all you want ninja is not going to be intended to be a tank in this game.

Tell me where YOSHI told that it's going to be the only job... Come on guys, YOSHI loves to give big and exciting surprises!!! And again, post exactly where they told that both things are dps... Pretty sure it just said the class is... ( can be my mistake cause I'm pretty excited about this hahaha)

Yoshi also hasn't said that they're going to be giving players free subscriptions and that we'll be able to create our own city-states to depose the existing ones.

Just because it hasn't been said doesn't mean that it's going to happen or is even remotely *likely* to happen. Yoshi announced Rogue and Ninja and then said that we'd be getting new healer and tank *classes* (which, given the game's model, also means jobs) with the expansion. If the devs had any plans to give Rogue a second job, you can be damned sure they'd have said it somewhere.

Seriously, it's like people need an explicit statement contradicting their wild theories before they're willing to accede to common sense.

Rogue *is* Thief; Yoshi actually wanted it to be called Thief. The only reason it's *not* called Thief is because it wouldn't make sense for a Thieves' Guild to be sanctioned by a city-state; it has absolutely nothing to do with planning on adding Thief at a later date (nor does it make the slightest bit of sense that it will ever be added; the only logical role for THF would be DPS and you're not going to get 2 jobs of the same role stemming from the same class because they'd be too similar to justify development of the second).

Just what this game needs. Another DPS. Wait times will go from 20-30 minutes to an hour or more in DF. On the positive side it will reduce my wait time form 5 minutes to instant.

I'm not sure if they directly called that Ninja is DPS. But they said it 'bout like this: "Ninjas will be dealing damage by using mundras(not entirely sure 'bout the word) and is not so movement heavy as monk for example is" which pretty much implies that it's DPS.

All Thieves are Rogues, not all Rogues are Thieves. Hopefully that makes sense for ya. I thought it was sort of interesting that FF went that route. D&D did it when they switched Thief for Rogue in 3ed back in the late 90s. But I think the reasoning is the same. Thieves are well.. thieves. They steal stuff. Rogues can do that. But they can function as scouts and 'locksmiths' as some call them. I think we're going to see more of the scouting aspect here with stealth which could be fun to use in some situations.

I thought rouge was a color.

I don't think so.... to be able to tank you need armor, to protect you more than the other roles. Ninjas need to move fast so they need light clothing in order to do their job right, like leather or cloth. I think that jump is to use when you are alone, doing quests, for example, besides, maybe you will be able to jump from the back too in order to be more mortal :p

I never said that thf was more iconic than nin. I just said that thf is one of the most iconic... Together with warrior, paladin, dark knight, black Mage, etc. and ninja too...

Pretty sure they always seek a non iconic class ( pugilist, lancer, gladiator ) and then transform it to an iconic one. That's why rogue is rogue and not thief. Yeah, they transform rogue to an iconic on but I don't know... You are going to change one class that uses daggers or small swords for Katanas... That's bad... It's like doing a class that uses great sword and chaining to a great katana on his job...

1) Pugilist, Lancer, Gladiator aren't classes in normal Final Fantasy games.
2) Rogue is Rogue because the dev team wouldn't like Naoki name it Thief because of a thieves' guild in a normal city state makes no sense
3) Katana is a fairly lengthy sword and usually restricted to Samurai unless there is no Samurai present in the game.
