The (old) Onion Set?

Greetings all, have a little question

I was wondering if the old Onion Set can still be obtained, I recall it being around originally but all my searches just lead me to the current Onion Set or pages with very little info on it (makes me thing that it probably still isn't obtainable, but its worth a shot)

Was just wondering if anyone knew since I want to glamour the set along with my Onion Helm.

Good luck, although getting one specific item (or small complete set of items in this case, which is even less likely) from random ventures might need more than luck >_<

I'm very happy I spammed the heck outta those faction leves in the end of 1.23, just in case. Didn't get the choco mask in time though, hoping for another chance at that one day!

Got the red onion helm the other day from retainers, it can happen just rare.

I wonder if we can get Chocobo mask from quick exploration too... Though I'm guessing it should be one of the new Chocobo achievement. Like level 20 / get all 3 trait's barding / Chocobo breeding / racing system that's supposedly to arrive with golden saucer.

Minus the Helm, since thats a 1.0 CE item, only the Red version is still obtainable.

There was also a black helm with red feathers that was obtainable via a quest NPC in Gridania, back in 1.0-

It was not really a quest
Enemies started to drop deaspected crystals and nobody knew what to do with them. Even NPCs talked about it. Some update later a NPC showed up in Gridania who gave you the helm for a specific amount of the deaspected crystals.
A suspicious Lalafell. He said he want them for science. I think he ate them.

Which level of exploration have people gotten them from on retainers?

Quick. They normally bring back random fish and house parts, but occasionally you get cool stuff. Examples of stuff I have had:
Mog weapons (I just about have all of these now)
Primal weapons
Darklight gear
Warwolf gear
Red Onion helm (not sure about the rest of the set)
Dungeon drops (I've had manor vanish multiple times now)
The house items have a chance to be two and three star.

The good thing about quick ventures is gear and retainer level don't matter at all (so long as you've unlocked quick ventures, which is a level 5 or 10 thing I think?) so everyone has a chance to get them, even newbies or people who were late getting their ventures started.
