Depend what kind of player you are. Before both could enjoy and achieve something. Now, after the patch, only parties /clans have fun
now its kinda like FFXI? then? you need to party to lvl up?
Before the patch, anyone could play. After the patch, on people with at LEAST half a brain can play (See: The non whining Thaumaturge, Conjurers, and Pugilist)
what do you mean by at least half a brain?
Its worse now, auto attack ruins melee for me. Especially marauder, the broad swing is fubar! 30 second delay, it makes it useless now. I wish they didn't revamp combat, i find it unplayable at the moment.
i think you just have to get used to it.. because ffxi its like that an di think ffxi battle system is alot better than the one we had before... then again i havent tried out the new battle system
trying conjurer right now, spirit dart isn't default attack anymore. Wonder if they make conjurer weapons that have melee damage values now?
i have to wait till monday to play.. so lets hope i like it
It say its worse, the so called "Challenge" has no fun and not because its challengin (which im not findin it) but because Im finding it dull and boring.
It is better, much better. for all parties involved
solo'ers have a plethora of new quests and guildleve adjustments to keep them busy and progressing. I actually find myself enjoying the new pace of guildleves, and don't just grind through them while doing something else in the background.
Auto-attack is a blast! if you take a moment and set up a nice slew of job abilities to your taste and fighting styles. You will find yourself using nearly all of them every encounter, as we have to rely more on our wits and class strengths, and less on our endless cure pool. Abilities fire instantly at your will and it is much easier to change the flow of a changing battle in your favor.
Grinding SP in parties apparently took a hit, though only temporary. But groups and LS have some dungeons to toy with for the time being, and company quests (still unsure if these are group or solo based content, or maybe both) and random enemy encampments to rush into (and Garlean attacks too I am hearing)
There is plenty more going on that has changed the surface of XIV, but these were just some initial thoughts that stood out, and I have only dabbled into the new content and systems so far, but am very much enjoying it compared to pre-1.18
If you fancy crafting you will find yourself welcomed with very helpful local leve rewards, and more convenient repairs.
that is my five second mini-review and opinions on this new direction, I hope you do enjoy it when you get back, and maybe I'll see you online :)
I believe there was one survey, that asked if people would be okay if current classes were radically changed.
Most people said they would be okay with it.
Now that such a change has been implemented, why are there so many complaints?
It's worse! Now the only way to rank up effectively, is to have an LS who all like to grind together, are the same rank, and on at the same time. Good luck with that...
