I am really curious if this is just new music for the new content, or new music in general, like even in areas we've already been?
Either way, I am always excited about new music. Purrdy melodies are a-coming.

For content, just like always, most ovious part of the patch note.
I am very excited for this also. The DoL experience really needs some musical attention imo. Its always so quiet while gathering. I love how where i craft is what music i hear, but the same ole battle theme everywhere, and the same ole.. nothing when i gather is just so boring and repetitive.
Hopefully the music keeps taking the route Lost City of Amdapor took as well as Halatali and Brayflox. Those have the best music so far imo.
Great job SE. Hope to see more !
Ramuh theme has been added. I think that clarifies as new music. But there may also be new music for the new dugneons as well, possibly.
Someone will probably rip it from game files soon after patch can be downloaded.
Did previous patch notes mention new music being added though? This is the first time I recall seeing it as a unique bullet on the notes. If it were just new music for the new content then there would be no reason to add a point on the patch notes for it otherwise we'd also have a new point for every new enemy type added for new content. The inference is that this is new music for older content. I wonder if Rev Toll's theme has evolved again...
;) I think the most obvious part of the patch notes is the header that defines it as patch notes. :p
But in response to everyone else, I didn't even notice that the Rev Toll music had evolved! So cool!
I'd love it if old content obtained new music as well, or longer clips of old music.
Like what Daniolaut said, it would be pretty swell to hear gathering music. The only issue I see from that is, "When and where would the music play?". Say the window for when you access the node? That would be short-lived. Hmmmmmm.
^_^ Either way, excited to see other people excited about this. He he he. To Ambiance!
EDIT: Oops, yeah -- Alberel -- I saw it on another Patch Notes before. I don't remember which, but according to Taaku, it was when they updated the Revenant Toll music. How fancy!
God I wish the battle music would change, get variety, go away or anything. Same track in every single field zone for years and years is NOT okay. :(
I liked it better when the Battle Music was what the Guildhest music is now. I wish they would've kept it that way. It was much livelier, though admittedly too dramatic for simple kills (DIE LADY BUG DIE!!!!). Lol.
But yes, yes, IF NOTHING ELSE, an update to the standard battle track would make me a happier lalafell.
Mayhap an homage to FFIX's battle theme? Eh? No? Okay then. :p
ramuh , new dungeon , CT ! and frontlines :)
I would love that the Hunt battle music will be "Festival of the Hunt" from Final Fantasy IX
My first thought, and I'm probably wrong, is that maybe the Magitek mount gets its own theme, just like how the Fat Chocobo doesn't use the generic theme either.
I"m excited to hear Ramuh's music. I liked both the male and female for levi. i hope Ramuh's is just as good.
They still haven't implemented a loop in some of the dungeons :(
watch these new dungeons have a awesome opening and bam gone like that
And speaking of which, if the 2.3 trailer video is to be believed, we're getting more old music from 1.0 (the old ferry theme Horizons Calling appears to be the theme for the new dungeon Hullbreaker Isle, and one of the old 1.0 instanced dungeon themes The Dark's Kiss looks like it's going to be the theme for Stone Vigil HM.) I didn't recognize the track for Tam Tara HM though.
Anyway, I'm hopeful more 1.0 tracks will also be returning in addition to the two I've mentioned. :D
Ooo, I forgot about this angle. YES, PLEASE!
Have they found a place for the old Thanalan theme, the old Gridania theme, and the old Lominsa Lominsan theme yet? I don't think I noticed them anywhere, but I also wasn't listening for them. Those are the three I'd be most excited about returning (I only mention these three because I either forgot the rest or already heard them implemented).
 <--- Shocked face.
This depresses me much, but I also understand that providing longer tracks might slow down production. In fact, I am guessing that this "dynamic" system of music was developed to alleviate some of the pressure/workload for the composers. That is kind of why I created this thread. Because while it might slow them down too much to include longer tracks/new tracks on new content, it IS possible for them to have time to extend preexisting ones. Maybe.
(NO PRESSURE SOKEN to comply, just, you know, I LOVE YOUR WORK).
BTW what music (from non-MMO FF games) would you want in this game? Becuase I think Eclipse and Eclipse -Aggressive Mix- are among the best tracks in the franchise (The game it comes from? well that's up to you) and would probably fit a Coil or 2.
Anybody else infuriated that they nerfed all the stuns?
It has been said awhile ago that there are no plans to give the dungeons before 2.2 (Copperbell and Haukke Manor excluded) a looped soundtrack. Dungeons from 2.2 and onward's will have looped soundtracks. The Tam-Tara HM theme sounds like a remade and more horrific version of the regular Tam-Tara theme.
