Wow, rank 20.. That's one hella long time to go.. But I'll be happy to get a healer barding on top of my tank barding! Just hoping that thavnairian onion isn't as rare as glazenuts..

No news on a skills reset?
This is a bit odd... I thought for sure it would be a rank 30 cap, not rank 20. The reason being that it was specifically stated in a recent interview Q&A that "all chocobo skills would be available" with this patch. Rank 20 cap implies that only two-thirds will be available :S
Also! My fiancée had a very interesting idea... Why not make something more out of "cleaning the stables" and create some method for turning the waste into composte for the garden? :)
Depends on how you get skillpoints after 10+
If it continues like it is now, then you'll have enough with lvl 20 (11 points for lvl 11, 12 points for lvl 12 and so on...). So 210 in total and you need 55 to fill one skill-tree.
But jeah could be, that you'll only get 1point for lvl 11, 2 for 12. Then you can only fill 2skill-trees. Maybe they add a completly different system, so it all depends on how they implement it.
hopefully the feed is not grown only... it would be great would make tons of gil from it but we have avg 500 members and most would like to utilize the gardens and there is no way it would be possible of any fc of any size even 40-100 members to ever grow enough food to feed the chocobo's regularly.
How much will the stable add on be?
I'd bet that leveling up food will be rare crossbreeding gardening >.<
Sounds like this is going to be a insanely long and expensive grind to gain almost nothing. I CAN'T WAIT!
Hmm...so raising is nothing like FFVII/FFIX/FFXI, just something to help increase their level?
Basically, with the exception of IX (it was a tad different) you raised Chocobos for breeding (eventually a golden chocobo in VII) and could raise certain chocobos for the racing, so you ended up focusing on the chocobo's stats. In FFIX your eventual goal was for raising for Hot&Cold/Treasure Hunting and to reach the Sky Garden to fight an optional super boss.
You also gained various colors through raising, which iirc they stated you can simply dye your chocobo in this game.
I saw something about a broom ..............................
Don't tell me it's the magic broom pet?
Hope anyone that wants to do this has a garden to crossbreed in that they don't have to compete with others over. Big disappointment that most people won't even get to see.
Another 3 weeks + crossbreeding super hardcore rare plants.
Yay my wallet's gonna take a nose dive if so :/
I don't know how I feel about the gardening stuff, it seems like it could get messy with a lot of people. It would be cool if we could have something like a flowerpot in our personal rooms where we could grow 1-2 items on our own though.
sorry Chocobo but I already can't afford materia for my weapon so I won't raise you, can't afford you
Lv7 Chocobo for evaaaaaaa
Came here to see people crying about actually having to work for something, leaving satisfied.
I read the preview and I kinda like it. My choco is rank 10 already, it would be nice to increase their level cap. I have some mixed feelings with the gardening stuff, since my FC is gathering all the glazenuts the can get and there'll be little room for choco snacks. This is a personal problem, of course. But still, I hope these things are not cross-breed veggies, because that would piss me off. The 2.3 preview video featured some "mini-games" (I hope) during the training. But my guess points that it's some small cutscene about the task you previously assigned to them. Probably becoming repetitive after a while.
I would like to check it out when the patch goes live, even though my attention goes primarily to the mark system (aka hunting). Hopefully the whole chocobo raising will be expanded as the game grows old.
Anyone know how to get this "Magick Broom" ?
Will it be a one time use item and you have to buy one every time you want to clean? I want to help my FC by cleaning the stables. :P
Speculation on Stable pricing? If personal rooms are 300k... Stables I'm sure will be many times that.
I can tell already that tying it to gardening will create a gigantic bottleneck. Locking out the ability to call them out is also sort of crude... I mean as it is now, where are we supposed to assume our mounts are when we haven't called them out?
I think that at the very least 1 type of feed should come from outside gardening. Several types of feed should be available from crafting (Culinarian and Alchemist maybe), and others should come from gathering.
Making all feeds come from gardening seems like a ridiculous bottleneck. Hopefully, they actually meant that you can get chocobo feed from gardening but neglected to refer that you can also get it from other sources. The rank cap remover being a gardening only item I'm ok with. These will sell for a lot, but ultimately, the need for them won't be as great as with the other feeds once you reach rank 20 on your choco.
Kinda hoping it won't take cross-breeding, that'll just be irritating without end. My FC's resident gardener probably won't be pleased that she has to relinquish some land for choco food either ^^;;
To be fair, it gives incentive to actually do gardening even more - Making some, even a "special" one come from an event or dungeon drop is a ridiculous bottleneck in that fashion as well, because then you potentially lose out on drops because of the choco feed people didn't want to garden droppin in a slot.
Um so we can level our chocobos even more, that sounds nice and I'm for it.
The question I have is... for what? We already got this at the suggestion of a chocobo dungeon:
We can already thrash most everything that not Odin or behemoth in the open world. So really, what will we be able to do in addition with our skilled chocobo who is already the big fish in a small pond?
Am I the only one disappointed that we will be "raising" an already fully grown chocobo and not start from an egg and watch the chick grow into an adult? T-T This should've been called "chocobo training". The word "raising" gave me entirely different expectations...
Different Colored Chocobo's will come in patch 2.35 as an item will be released that you can feed to your Chocobo to change the color of its plumes.
and its called Chocobo Raising because in patch 2.4 you will be able to raise Chocobo's as you will also have Chocobo Racing in Gold Saucer.
