If I were going I would dress up as Ward from FFVIII, it's the only thing I could reasonably dress up as and not look like an @$$.

More on topic, all the the fan feast are really far from me so i'm expecting to see a lot of pics from you guys.

it's more the massive beer gut that I have that prevents me from portraying any of the skinny or lanky heroes of the Final Fantasy series... not that I actually drink beer all that frequently or anything. I just have an exceedingly high food intake and horrendously slow metabolism.

I figure of all the Final Fantasy weapons ever concieved of, a massive anchor is by and large the easiest thing to duplicate. All I would need is a wire or wood frame and some Paper Mâché or plaster.

If time persists, I plan on having all the shown garlean character suits done and ready for LV and JP. 3 1/2 month time frame

My I ask my material you're using? I'm doing some armour work with Worbla Thermoplastic but this looks like it may also help me!

Frp Resin
Polyurethane + eva foam combined
Pvc leather
A hint of melted metal

- Livia helm test (25% complete)
- Gaius projectile (need to switch out led to blue)
- Gaius armlets (25% complete)
- Colors that will be used for Gaius and Livia
In reality, livia's chestpiece (not shown) is at 85%, but will show some other time.

I have so much respect for cosplayers. They can make some really badass stuff.

I'd love to do just one really good cosplay in my life, but I'm not any good with my hands.

Great work btw. It's been years since I've done anything like this. Last thing I attempted to put together was a HUcast suit from PSO. Took too long and the con came up before I was done.

Damn Everyones working on some awesome stuff. Sadly my cosplay making skills suck so I'll be going in my Lighting stuff.

Very cool stuff so far. I'm a little worried about your desire to be a villain, though! :P I'll be going as my character to the Vegas Fanfest, likely in SMN AFv2 (unless there is a release of new armor that I like better -- specifically for summoners... must have a horn)!

I made WHM AF last year and posted it somewhere on the forums in one of those "RL picture" threads. But, I guess I'll post it here anyway since this is a cosplay thread!

WHM took me about a month to complete (while working a lot) so I'll likely allot at least two months for my SMN... Especially because I am not an expert, and there were a few sloppy errors with WHM that didn't make the quality as much as I was hoping for. I'll also need to figure out how to make that leather harness (with the wings etc) for SMN, and the horn out of some sort of light-weight form. I'm thinking expanding foam?

It would be REALLY cool if we could get some sort of organization going. I'm not sure if SE will do some sort of event for cosplayers, but that would be really fun to participate in or watch.

I made a miqo'te cosplay for last month's A-Kon here in Dallas. It was kinda rushed so I didn't get to work the craft foam too much, but here's a pic of me in costume ;3 I plan to modify it a bit for fanfest <3

*flails about* I just had my first trial run of my scholar at San Japan this weekend. While there are things I want to make sure I fix/change/add,nothing fell apart on me! To cosplayers as a whole: keep it up! It takes a pair of brass ones and some serious skills to make what you guys do. While I've never cosplayed personally, I love going around and taking pictures of what people make. ^_^

As I have to admit I would never bother to attend any kind of fan fest nor make/wear these themed clothes - I liked what I saw in this thread. Especially that armour thing - must be a very dedicated person to make things like that and make them look good.

I'm in the early stages of gathering materials for my Miqo'te Bard cosplay, but I'm not doing her as the clothes are designed in game. There will be homage to it (especially with the artemis bow), but I'm going to do the cosplay as I see her. Plus it'll be hot in Vegas and I really don't want to be in a (p)leather doublet walking to and from the Duce's bus stop.

That Livia stuff looks badass :)

I cheated and had a set of samurai armour made rather than make it myself. Could only afford the rather basic low-ranking samurai armour though ;)

PS: If its not too much to ask, how much you guys spend on a project like that? on average. And the materials are easy/hard to find?

I'm hoping to officially cosplay for the first time ever at the Vegas fan fest in October. I have no real idea what I'm doing--besides knowing how to sew. So we'll see how this goes.
