I'm a bit disappointed with the SP changes in regards to leve mobs. Granted, I am doing lvl 10 leves (as a 14 MAR) but I expected at least some decent numbers.
I can understand the sp that leve mobs give to be the same as normal mobs. But what I can't understand is the "bonus" sp you get at the end of the leve only reaching 200-300. This is the wonderful bonus that was touted? It's only slightly higher than the sp I get off killing a normal ranked mob. Guardian Aspect is still in the game as well, but yet has no effect... on either the mobs nor the bonus.
Perhaps I'm doing this wrong. Am I overleveled on the leves I have? I didn't think a rank 14 doing rank 10 leves was that much of a gap (as opposed to doing lvl 20 ones as a rank 14). Especially considering the exp jump that comes around the mid-20s, which means I'll need even MORE exp to hit the next level.
I love everything else. The auto-attack is pretty much what I expected, and I don't mind the recast times (they seem to mesh pretty well). But the SP, especially considering I'm a low level and getting such low amounts, is worrying. I mean, it wouldn't be an issue if we could just keep picking up leves over and over without a limit... but after fifteen or so leves you're stuck grinding on mobs or crafting.
Opinions? Tips?

SE shifted alot of the focus to group partys (XI style and dungeon grinding) and quest based leveling. With party play being the fastest way to level up.
They actually nerfed Leves to get people away from that being the primary focus of the game.
The dungeons at least the 45 one is giving like 200+ sp a kill so that is decent for leveling, I assume the lower one would be as well if you are at the right levels... I am to high to really tell.
All the quest are giving SP, main story quest are giving over 15k sp per quest in some cases -

I haven't played for a few patches (I played in Beta and then for a month afterwards before I stopped) so it seems things have changed pretty drastically, and not only with just this patch. I seem to remember getting reamed hardcore attempting higher leves even just a few levels higher than you.Quote:

Sadly, my server is mainly JP. And since I don't know the language, it makes it difficult to get parties. Not to mention the low population. Not sure what I can do besides go to a more populated server to level, grind till my eyes bleed or attempt to focus on story quests/side quests.Quote:

The rank of camps and the stars have been adjusted. Where a pt of 2 ppl in the mines at R36 would do 3 star max and get decent sp still, 5 star is actually a bit too weak now. At that point, you have to move to the next camp. I've yet to test how leve linking affects the sp, but i hear it helps a lot.

Am I playing the same patch? I'm a r31 Archer and was doing some r30 leves and was getting around 1-200 sp a kill and then end SP bonus was between 1,900-2.300 SP. I'm also loving the increase in SP DoL gets. No more grinding for hours just to get one rank! For example as a rank 27 Botanist I was getting around 150 sp at a time. Now on the same trees I get over 500 sp.
Patch 1.18 FTW!!!
(Now just fix the active/passive mode while moving animation please) -

It's much, much more fun than soloing, the rewards are much better, and you're going to level faster. But the most important thing is the fun. Another way to get SP -- especially after patch 1.18, and into the future -- will be quests. You can now get SP from main storyline quests, job quests, and side quests. There are lists of side quests that you can do, if you search for them. Those give SP, gear, and other rewards. And there's always behest. (Although I have no idea how well it works after patch 1.18.)
And, of course, at rank 25, you can start entering the new dungeons!
Regardless, even though grinding might sound boring, get in a good linkshell, and it can be a blast. And with auto-attack, you can probably socialize now while fighting.

what happened to playing the game and having fun? its a MMO they want your sub as long as possible and if you cap everything you just going to quit. if theres party where if you 10sp lower an hour they act like there going to die and moan and groan, overreact, say my last party got 1 billion sp an hour this party sucks and bitch the whole time. -

Doing Iron Lake (r40) leves, 2 stars, as 43 GLA with GAspect gave me ~4k on completion. Both times. Wish I could remember the exact numbers but I wasn't really thinking.
Nanawa at 32 PGL gave 1710 for 2 star, 1995 for 3 star. Consistant numbers. Done in over 10 minutes. Both with GA if that affects anything. -

Because once you're level 13, you can do leves at the r20 camp. Here's the Lodestone post on it.
What Sav is saying is true for local leves. You can start doing r20 crafting leves at level 15. But for regional leves -- like Battlecraft leves -- you can do r20 leves at level 13. -
