how about to delete (deleted) and some of the others?
just an idea you know?
I'd just start from the top and work my way down. Chances are the first RMTs you blacklisted have already been removed from the game anyways, so you're blacklisting a player that doesn't even exist and wasting a slot.
Yeah i've already deleted the (deleted) i am weary of taking off names that are still on there incase i get a /tell from them minutes later
You know banned RMT accounts don't get labeled (Deleted) right? at any given time 10 RMT on your Blist removing them from the top since new is added to the bottom. Whoever keeps filling their blist with RMT without knowing that SE does not (Delete) accounts that are banned nor their character ether just don't know this or are are just to lazy to clean their blist to add more and just want to complain about it.
Clean your blist to the most recent 10 then you be fine. Have fun cleaning though, it takes awhile to remove even just 50.
And now the "Why didn't you use the search function? There are already a dozen thread buried in here with this same topic."
Your concern isn't unique by any means. Forum Advanced search for blacklist
I couldn't tell you much more then the guys above me. When I finally got full, I just deleted them all. Then blacklisted the ones that were sending me tells at that moment. Unfortunately for me that created a problem where I removed a few players that I blacklisted in game for a good reason, and I really couldn't tell their name apart from the rest. It would be nice to have a way to highlight certain names. That way you know you really want to keep those names on there. I guess I could write them down in a notepad on my computer or something.
Banned accounts are not deleted, so those names will stay on your blacklist until you remove them. The names that are listed as <deleted> were deleted by the account holder.
EDIT:
I just keep my list at 50 names. Each time I add a name, I remove one from the top. This doesn't happen often these days, because I almost always stay in "Busy" mode. SE only gave us two options for dealing with RMT: Deal with it, or ignore everyone. I'm not dealing with it anymore...
i deleted 150 entries, and....well im not keeping track of all of them, but i don't think im getting any/lots from the old ones.
it's a never ending battle anyway, so just empty it out, and keep on blocking the new ones.
Well it sucks if they aren't deleting RMT accounts entirely... maybe someone else might want to use "Ssssddjgkla Arjjjjjskesql" as their character name.
My problem with the blacklist is the lack of being able to delete several players at a time. Deleting one and one just takes forever - it's quicker to blacklist people than to remove them from the list.
200 as a max is pointless on a server with several thousands, many of which are bots -.-
Well technically a feature to delete multiples shouldn't even be needed. They just need to implement a /tell spam lockout on people that spam the same thing to multiple people. That way after 3-4 /tells of the same thing it locks them out of the system. That's really what we need. Meaning after the person sent the same message to 3-4 people it locks.
The problem is that we actually need to delete them. SE should solve this somehow. it's not up to the player to put time into deleting them all (which takes a lot of time since you can only delete one at a time). I think this is silly too
This has become a tedious chore everyday, deleting RMT names to add new ones. I gotten so fed up that I just disabled the /tell chat.. :\
I actually didnt know that Either thanks for the heads up and generally i stay away from the forum but thank you for all the information
There should be a separate list for "Blacklist" and "RMT spam"
The RMT spam list would start deleting the oldest entries automatically when you exceeded the cap.
Click on System, then Support Desk, then at the bottom under Frequently Asked Questions there is Reporting RMT Advertisements, click on that, then on the button at the bottom "File Report", copy paste the RMT tell you got. Send...done and dusted. If you put that person on your blacklist, you will get a message from support saying that you can delete it (usually within 5-10 mins). Result = nice empty blacklist.
