How are the party finder groups on your server?

I don't know, maybe it's just my server, maybe it's like that everywhere but the party finder pugs in my server are AWFUL.

Examples:


Leviathan Farm Party - before we even get to the gyre spumes, both healers get smashed in the face with dives, end up dying, not healing tank, tank dies, party wipes. When asked if they have cleared, they claim they have. When asked why they get hit with dives they say "lol" or "it was a warm up". After 2 wipes, people just drop out. No farming or clearing was accomplished.

Turn 6 Party - I made a party to practice the final phase of turn 6, the phase with slugs. I warned and said if you die to boquet or get eaten you will be removed. Someone STILL comes in, has NO IDEA what he is doing, dies/gets eaten multiple times and gets kicked. Replacements who come in, have obvious connection problems, constantly lag/disconnect/die because of lag. After about an hour of this, we didn't even make it to phase 3 and I basically wasted my entire night with a bunch of landmines.

Another Turn 6 Party - We get to phase 3 in 1 shot, die because of some small mistake, a bunch of people drop out and party disbands.

Turn 5 Farm party - We get to twister phase in 1 shot, some people die from twisters. We restart and get to twisters again, same thing happens. Party leader complains that people are bad (when he ate a twister himself) and disbands party after 2 wipes.

Don't even get me started on duty finder and tanks who come into Levi Ex with Moogle weapons, or DPS with darklight gear. So how is the pug scene on your server? Is it the same? Better? Worse?

Most of the PF parties I'm in are average to below average. Of course with the harder content you're going to get more inexperienced or newer people because many of the good people don't like wiping for hours in a progression party after learning the content so they run with their own people. T6-T9 are especially bad because of the lock out, and it's up to the player to join some kind of LS/FC that has competent people who PUG it every week if they want a higher success rate. Your also welcome to create your own group, whether that be for PUGing or forming a static.

I'm in a few of the PUG LSes myself in which I got invited to eventually because I PUGed enough fights with enough competence to get invited. There's also usually more than one (where many members overlap). What I find though is that those that are good usually start getting snatched up to form statics or they clear stuff fairly early in the week.

I do have a static but we had a few members out this week so I decided to try my luck with pugging but yea that was such a mistake and a waste of time.
I just honestly don't understand the mentality of people who are bad, know they are bad, but come in anyway in hopes they won't be bad??? They will get kicked anyway (and possibly blacklisted) so I don't really get why people do that.

I should write a thesis on "Super Secret Experieced PuG LS and it's effects on the server". I'm pretty sure all servers have a few of these which causes a rift where no experienced player does PF anymore once they are in it. This of course leaves the rest behind in a pit of filth and death.

Then again, I think I'll just rip off one of those "down with the 1%" pieces instead.

"Farm Party" = "Please Please Carry Me Free!!1!!" Party.

On my server, generally good. Never tried T6 and beyond in PF, since I have a static for that, but I am training a new character for fun times in Second Coil in the future lol.

The majority of Leviathan parties are successful. Over 90% But after 5 or so clears, people start playing sloppy and begin making mistakes and the party disbands.

Maybe 25% Of Turn 5 parties are successful. But they can only clear it once or twice before the group disbands.

Turn 6, About 10% are successful. Most can get to the slug phase but people never seem to learn and keep making the same mistakes. I question how a lot of these people managed to beat Turn 5.

May be a personal observation but most of the Primal DF Server parties are downright horrible.

But today I had a Garuda EX pt. No one said a word in PT chat and we managed to down it on the 2nd try with no problems. I was completely shocked in regards to this phenomena and secretly still wishing that I could join more parties like that particular one.

I dunno I feel mixed. Usually always clear Titan HM when i DF it..though i am almost always the only DPS alive after half health with just tanks and healers. Garuda EX went smooth..Titan EX we keep getting about halfway. So to me the parties I get could be way worse..but they could be much better.

Finding a party that is willing to learn together or finding a kill party is really not the easiest thing to do on Ragnarok. If I want to learn a fight and open a party and even describe that it's a learning party, people should be willing to do several runs, bring in some time and Patience, it never works. After merely 2 wipes, at least 1 guy is ragequitting. Over a learning party because it is no instant win.

When I join clear or win/kill parties, there are at least 2 players where you can tell that they have little to no experience. Why do these people join? Hoping for a carry? What happens most of the times is that the party breaks up after 2 wipes, just like the learning parties. I would NEVER join a kill/win party if I do not have said content on farm mode. It is just a waste of people's time. Highlight was a Ultima HM party months ago where people talked for like 10 minutes about Loot and then the group wiped before or on the 1st Aetherblow several times in a row till the ultimate "blame the other player" game began.

But also T5 is ridiculous. When there is a farm party, I expect a farm run. Like 1 run = 1 kill. Or maybe 2 runs = 1 kill. But that's it. I do not want people learning Twister movement or Conflag handling in such a run. But they come in like flies lol. Why? I will never understand. It becomes rather quickly obvious, especially in T5, who has kill experience and who doesn't. The ones who can't win it are flamed without end (which is not my style) so why do they join such runs at all? Do they like beeing flamed? Or really just hoping that the group will land a kill? Here is a secret: In T5 you need all 8 players for a win unless you have exceptional good players. One weak element is most of the time a showstopper for the entire party. So you won't get your win unless you answer the shouters in Mor Dhona who are good enough to sell it in a way that one dead player doesn't count.

Dunno how often I read on this Forum that everything is easy. Good for you, but for most people it is not. Endgame in this Game is designed for 5-10% of the player base. But far more people are trying to beat content that is not for them. And I can't blame them, everybody is curious and wants to see the new bosses and arenas. But the mechanics in this Game are so unforgiving that only a very small numbers of players can win the Endgame fights on a reliable base. Groups in Party finder and Duty finder are reflecting this perfectly day by day.

I really dislike this "not cleared means you don't know how to do it"
that is clearly wrong.

I haven't cleared T5 or Titan ex, nevertheless I know what I am supposed to do when. Twisters still confuse me a tiny bit, but still I know how and where (not) to run.

Than there are those that payed for their clear, so they have a clear does it mean they know what to do? Not necessarily .

Haven't had to join a PF group for any difficult content in over 6 months, and hopefully never will. They're pretty bad on my server.

Well I remember about 6 (?) months ago when the EX primals came out and I remember eventually getting through the fights and downing them several times for the weapons.

Now ninja is upcoming in the future so I decided I would trip through them again to just get some tokens so I have an instant i90 lv50 weapon for when I have it levelled up. Even as a i99 with huge amounts of echo im seeing parties struggle to even do the simplest things. It has clearly deteriorated to the point where people actually need to rely on echo to just clear things like killing feathers or nails.

This doesn't specifically apply to party finder as duty finder is just as much to blame for my bad experiences as I have always had issues with "farm" parties especially when levi and mog came out and all these farm parties couldn't even clear half the fight reliably.

But I must say when you don't meet a bad egg and make some decent progress on the fights people generally tend to friend list each other to try and sort it out later.

Echo won't save someone who keeps taking 5 weights of land and landslides to the face unfortunately.
Once 2.3 comes, all those people who cannot clear titan will now be in Leviathan swimming off the deck.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I'm glad to see that this is basically a "general problem" everywhere. I'm thinking about starting a farm party for Levi this weekend and being completely merciless for anyone who obviously cannot dodge or stay on the deck. I think when I put things like "learning" people think it's "ok to be bad" lol.

I guess by now you expect people to "learn a fight" not "learn how to play their class or dodge AOEs."

Six groups for various things all with rude messages in the comments.
