When do they reset which day of the week? thanks

They reset once a week on Tuesday's at Midnight Japanese Time, which is +9 GMT/UTC for general reference. This wiki post on the Final Fantasy XI wiki site has a list of what time Japanese Midnight is in several time zones:

On the Pacific Coast, yeah. Where I live (Dallas, TX area) it resets at about 10:00 am. It's a different time in different area's of the United States. Depends on where you live. But if you live in say Los Angeles, California, then yes, right now it would be 8:00 am tomorrow when it resets. Daylight Savings does also play a factor in it as well.

I think it resets at 9:00 am PST -unless the map quest is on a different schedule. I had to wait until 9:00 am yesterday to start that quest for the day.

it's actually Daylight Time right now, so the reset would be 8:00 am, not 9:00 am. It won't be until Sunday, November 2nd 2014 at 2:00 am that you start having the reset at 9:00 am in Pacific Time.

Use the challenge log time remaining to keep track.

Edit: And no, to the people saying it resets 8-9am. Weekly reset is the one around 2 or 3 AM PST; the daily reset is the one 8 or 9.

It does reset on Tuesdays though. I could have sworn it resets at Japanese Midnight though, that is generally the safe assumption to make with Japanese made MMORPGs. I mean everything in Final Fantasy XI reset at Japanese Midnight, so why wouldn't everything in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn also reset at Japanese Midnight?

As for your comment about the Challenge Log Time Remaining... I looked through my Character Config, and through my Challenge Log, but I couldn't find a Timer for a Time Remaining anywhere, or an option to turn on said Timer. Where do you find that feature?

Er... yes, yes your right....

The weekly reset used to be JP midnight but they changed it specifically to divide up the times people spam instances.

Challenge log time remaining is under your timers screen (assuming you have challenge log unlocked). For me it's CTRL-U, but I think that wasn't the default.
