I'm curious on how the glow looks on each weapon and the stat choices!
BLM Novus is so....uninspiring :/
They actually going back to green for Bard, unlike Animus. That WHM doe...makes me drool.
Bard's relic was never green before.
Zenith was white.
I find it stupid that you can choose what secondary stats you want for the novus but you can't choose the glow. I want a black glow on my soon to be Novus Bravura.

So that's actually consider white? (This is a serious question, I'm not good with colors)
The BLM Novus looks warped in darkness. Our BLM's are joining the Ascians. Calling it now. Haha
Let's be fair to the Holy Shield Novus. You loose the pearly white color, but the glow on the Holy Shield takes on the interlocking hexagon pattern of Protect or Sacred Soil, and that's really cool.

better yet, how much gil did it ended up costing them?
I had saved 1m for the weapon but I start to think I will need 10 times that amount... crit materia prices through the roof...
1 million definitely won't be enough if you plan to go with BiS. Determination and critical hit rate tier IVs are around 200k (at least on my server) You need 19 and you're bound to get some failures when you fuse too.
200,000 x 19 = 3,800,000
You're going to be dealing with 60% and 50% infusion rates at the end. So 3.8 million would be the minimum. And that's just for the tier IVs. Even the IIIs can be pricey with how many you need.
It's hard to tell if materia prices will increase or decrease as time goes on. Demand for the tier IVs will likely increase as people reach that level of Novus.
Unless you're rich, I really don't recommend going for 31 determination and 44 critical hit rate. 8 determination and 11 critical hit rate is hardly worth 4 million gil. The dps loss would be marginal. Probably less than 1% difference.
If you want to avoid the Tier IVs you can do
23 determination
33 critical hit rate
19 accuracy/skill speed/spell speed/piety
1 million gil should be enough for that.
What about SMN? I looking forward to that
Now THIS would be amazing :)
I'm not sure about that golden glow on Thyrus... I'd rather stay with Animus glow. I wonder if one could buy Animus weapons from calamity salvager (glamour purpose) after obtaining Novus... that would be an easy way to let anybody choose their favourite pre-existent glow.
I am still unsure with stats to meld in my own thyrus to be honest T_T anybody here that can tell me if it's worth it to cap DET on whm?
I'm happy that I started to save up materia since 1.0 relict quest ^^
Needed a weapon with 2 materia in it, the chance for the second materia was around 18% and if it failed the whole weapon was destroyed. And alone 1 of the 2 materia costed around 2-4m gil ^^
Crit = 290k
Det = 210k
Server: Behemoth
It is as simple as I think, 60k myth is what you need to get all 75 alexandrites if you're not gonna do anything else but dungeons. That's 600 dungeons runs, 600 dungeons where you could have, at the very least, spiritbond with your accessories (so that elitist won't complain), and if say it takes 5 runs to completely spiritbond a whole set, is 1 materia per run. It may be RNG but 600 materia is a lot which not only you can use, but sell for gil to buy the specific materia you want, and that's not even including the gil from the actual dungeon, or the crafting mats you can sell OR use to make i70s that guarantee a level IV (you'd have to do CT or coil for this though).
I've already made over a million this week alone, spiritbonding while doing dungeons and CT, that's not even including the materia I use for my personal use, so as it stands, spiritbonding on top of what you're already doing is the better choice. This is quest is gonna take time, it's meant to be that way, and the only way to do it in less time is to cut cost and kill to birds with one stone. Simply put, if you're not gonna be efficient with what you do, it's just gonna be harder on yourself at the end of the day.
Ew. Looks like I'll be glamouring my Thyrus when I get it to Nova. Yuck.
Did the reddit post show screen pics of the scrolls before they turned it in for the novus? I want to see the caps on the stats. I think one of them might be crit/det and if it is we can finally close the debate on whether it becomes straight 44 crit and 31 det = 75 infusions.
I'm still on Zenith for my Bravura, but I'm more than willing to put in the work to try to get the Novus, now that I can give my Bravura some goddamn accuracy. Literally the only reason I hate using the Bravura is because of its severe lack of accuracy.
...and if I need to glamour it, so be it. I've developed a fondness for the Flame Lieutenant's Axe design, which is simple, sleek, and shows off some regional patriotism at the same time.
If the smn book is greener than the bow I can tell it's gonna look terrible :/
I take it easy this time. The myth grind to Animus almost burnt me out so for the Upgrade to Novus, I will just do, when I am online, the Expert roulette and that's it. I will never grind 800 myths for the sake of an extra map. This upgrade will take the full 75 days, most probably a tad longer because I can't login each day and have time for it. World championship, I blame you. :xd
I wonder how the people did it who already have it. If you do the grind via Myth tomes, you need a whoppin' 60.000 of them. How many hours per day playing is that? Or maybe the better question is: with how little sleep can you survive lol?
I'm finding Novus progress very pleasent at the moment. You can get a map per day very easily and another every couple of days just doing daily roulettes. And when you feel like grinding, there's always FATEs and Brayhard to dip in.
Green, again? Really SE?
Looks like I'm gonna have to glamour my Artemis Novus when I get it.
edit: Lol @ this page. Not bandwagoning here at all. SE, implement custom glows. We obviously are not charmed by your poor decisions.
