What is it with kids these days and their faux forum riots?

Doesn't really work unless you crash the game (See Jita Riots).

But... we all know it's coming. "Riot"ing is not going to make them put it in 2.3, or even 2.35.

From what I understand the gun class is just not ready yet. There's still a ton of time before
2.4 and it could very well be put in then.

Rioting with a cute emoticon has proven to be the most effective way to get something that you want. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

That is the point, though. Rioting over something that is already confirmed as coming
at some point is not rioting lol. The Fantasia thread was different because at the time
it started there were no plans on making it sellable. It is already fact the gun class
is on it's way. x.x

Well, Yoshi said the gun class is "something you will not expect". Since everyone and their mother's expect it to be
Muskateer, this is a very real possibility.

Sorry to have to do this to you but I got 2 occasions that prove otherwise. "Fantasia potions" and "Same Sex Marriage".

So I'm inclined to agree with the riot on this one.

And 1.0 caused SE to blow Eorzea into a thousand pieces via Bahamut Megaflare-style. Like I said in another thread and others before me, they're working on it but it's not ready yet. Also, it's not going to be something we expect...that alone is probably why it isn't ready. I want it as much as others do, though probably less than the 1.0 vets, but still.

I so want a musketeer/gun class and it better be a dps not no tank or healer even if SE makes it to be with magic guns that are similar to the ones in FFT I'm ok with, though I'd prefer it to be a physical ranged dps but it'd be better then having it in some form of tank or healer.

I'll throw in. The lack of any news at all is ridiculous. Even a mention like "It's being worked on" or "these are ideas we're bandying about" would have sufficed. I'm annoyed that we're getting a completely new class/job(s) before Musketeer, but I'm more annoyed that they're just not even mentioning it at all.

As of now I'm only assuming Musketeer is being worked on for a unqiue gameplay like Rogue/Ninja is giving with fast movement speed and Symbol patterns for Ninja skills (being that the wrong order will cause your Ninja skills to fail) since they mentioned Musketeer will be a class people didn't expect it to be. So any info may take sometime to be given to the public.


Maybe Musketeer will have a Ammo round system with different type of rounds to use for different effects and it's Job will expand on one of different roles like Giving Musketeer the....

Chemist Job for a Healer role will provide Chemical Rounds which turns Musketeer's attack skills into skills that can also heal other players.

or

Gunner Job for a DPS role with different types of DPS rounds like Incendiary rounds (for DoT effects) and Armor piercing rounds (Ignore small % armor effects) giving players options to be DoT type DPS or a more direct damage DPS.

But this is only a assumption of what they may have planned for Musketeer since there have been no offical information released yet on what is this Unique gameplay they have planned.

Seeing as how they've been dangling a gun class over the community's head since 1.0 it was a huge slap in the face to many of us who have been waiting.

I think the reasons people are so frustrated even though we know it's coming... at some point, is this:

• It was promised at the start of 1.0
• We were told it would be one of the first classes to come out along Arcanist which means it was already in development
• Then 1.0 got shut down but we were told it was still coming
• 2.0 came out and they kept the musketeer guild
• We were told several times that they knew people still wanted it
• Then were were told dagger and gunner class were coming sooner than we thought
• ...
• then they give super nice info about Rogue/NIN which was announced like 6-8 months ago if that? (not sure if someone can give more accurate when it was said it was coming)
• and Gunner doesn't get anything at all just 'its not ready' but its coming... at some point yet has been talked about for over 3+ years

• and the whole reason NIN comes first = PVP
• Even though people have been constantly asking and bringing up for MSK for 4 years now.

So honestly I'm (personally) frustrated at this point since MSK was the whole reason I wanted to play. I feel I have been very patient since they first talked about it at the start (if not before) 1.0, but now I feel like I'm just being messed with.

As i said in another thread: I appreciate his way of communicating, and like it. But I just wish (especially when it comes to gunner and he knows how long we have been waiting) that unless hes ready to give info he wouldn't bring it up.

I could have lived with no info at all or 'dagger is coming' and nothing about gunner but to hear 'yes its closer than you think' and then absolutely 0 at E3... Zip, Zero Zilch, its kinda a slap in the face for those who have been faithful and waiting for years now.

Yeah it's pretty damn frustrating to have Musketeer dangled in front of us for 4 damn years and then have 2!!!!! classes released before it >.<

think with me: july 8th(or so) 2.3, they normally release the x.x8 about 2 months after, so mid or late sept 2.38 and SEPT 18th is the tokyo game show, they can announce the gunner and other features for 2.4 on the show and a couple weeks after release 2.4 with both ninja and gunner.

Think with me: They've been promising Musketeer for 4 years (September 2010ish?) , it's been a guild in the game since 1.0 BETA. Overreacting? I don't think so lol

by overreacing i mean that gunner can still come with ninja, on the same patch.

You say over reacting but after watching the 2.3 live letter part 2 today I think not when they put time and resources into making a catalog for glamours and house furniture I feel their current priorities are little messed up.

THIS^ It's frustrating to someone who has a ton of friends from 1.0 who have been so pumped for this class, and they don't get it. I hate people who can't keep promises, and that doesn't change for SE. Players have been promised a gunner class for four long years, and the people who have been paying for this game when it sucked deserve SOMETHING other than empty promises and disappointment. THEY MADE THIS GAME INTO WHAT IT IS TODAY. GIVE THEM THE CLASS THEY'VE BEEN WAITING FOR FOR SO LONG.

I can't tell if they are unwilling or incapable of keeping promises. This isn't the only thing they've been doing it with either. Personal housing is something that was brought up before launch and all they keep saying is it's not ready yet. Gold Saucer is another. SE seems to think that by promising something it will make people stick around. What they don't seem to get is that eventually people will get frustrated by all the empty promises and leave.
