Gil is so inflated.

Lol rmters fighting eachother so much gil per mil is at 4$. SE bring in the special task force from ffxi!!!! they are ruining the game. this for 1 is affecting legit players who dont buy gil. An average player cant even meld 1 craft class cus how inflated crap is.

Actually he has a point. A lot of people make their money selling Myth, which isn't a good idea anymore with Animus/Novus. To fully meld out ONE crafter/gatherer, it can cost you 1m+ gil. I spent about 600k on melds for my Weaver, and then went on to spiritbond about 20-30 of each type of T2 crafting materia, and I used about 60% of them. The amount I had made in that one day would have sold for about 1.5m (assuming I could sell them all at current market price without crashing the price completely with my massive inventory of materia). All in all, I probably used 1.3m gil worth of materia for a single crafting class.

A long time ago, probably a decade at this point, back when SE did nothing against RMT in FFXI, there was this RMT character farming slimes in Ordelle's Cave all day long.

Normal companies lower prices for 2 reasons.

1. To lure in new customers.
2. They not selling their product at all and leads back to reason 1.

Also I don't think you know what the word inflated means. If gil was inflated like you said anyone and everyone can get their gear melded because prices would be low not high.

I just logged on and got spammed 20 times, that is uncalled for and shouldn't even happen.

Damn 1 mil for $4? I would never buy gil, but at those rates can you really blame people... that's cheaper than most pay to win games sell their weakest stuff.

The reason it's so low is because no ones buying their product. This tends to happen when people are happy with the money they get from normally just playing the game. With the Ventures acting as a lottery where you can sometimes pull in items that sell for between 200-500k depending on server theres a lot of money in the market which means players are happy which means they aren't going out to buy stuff from RMT's.

I personally think SE's found a small sweet spot for giving people money and its rather nice.

Probably also why the tells are climbing in frequency again. They are getting a little antsy to sell the gil they're farming only to have GMs jailing their advertisers every other day. "Price so cheap, how not sell?!" Maybe because people are getting ticked at all the advertising.

Inflation mean that the amount of gil every player have rise and rise and rise. The prices rise also, because the players can pay the high prices.
What you mean is deflation, where the prices fall because nobody have enough gil to pay it.

No only the product is in deflation in his example it is materia, has nothing to do with the gil. If gil was in inflation everything would be over priced in game. This isn't the case have seen the marketboards everything is dirt cheap except certain materia and high end crafted gear and vanity materials and gear.

As inflation rises, every dollar will buy a smaller percentage of a good. For example, if the inflation rate is 2%, then a $1 pack of gum will cost $1.02 in a year.

Ur analogy is wrong. If something was selling for 100k and novus comes out and prices per materia change to 500k. You then see new players that u know damn well dnt have this gil buying out the market, the legit players get shafted.

I'm on Jenova myself. I think he means more that things are costing a damned fortune. Which is true.. 650k for 1 IV craft materia? no thanks. i definitely understand OP's concern here. When you go to buy some shards.. 250 for 3000... yeah, okay bots at large.

That differs from server to server. Come to Jenova and see how cheap those items are.

If you want to complain about economy at least pick a topic SE can do something about.

Recipes from 1 to 49 are pretty much only for the sake of grinding XP and nothing else. There is no demand for anything crafted below 49 because that gear comes from dungeons automatically.

lvl50 crafted gear is a joke in two seconds so what are these classes really good for.
I LOVE crafting system itself but SE really needs to take a look at the core items and find a way to make them actually needed.

Also why WHY would you ever buy gil? What could you possibly do with it if you are in a FC that already has a house? When you reach endgame you'll see that gil is almost completely useless. It's the tomes that matter here, not gil.

So, no demand for level 45 + accessories to spiritbond for materia due to massive costs, no demand for the items that can be crafted HQ, which can further be used in final product crafting?

So the keyword "new" players that just hit 50 that are buying 3 star items and materia have gil from farming? Doubt it. No1 cares how much gil u make a day. Im 1 of 3 master crafters on jenova server with over 100mil gil and the server has only been up for 2-3 months. Im glad i masterd all my crafts b4 command 4s went from 100k to 500-600k per materia. People are buying so much gil that when i try to sell something at "market price" (rmt inflated price) to an average player they are far from an agreement. Yes i benefit on my end from this but its sad when i have fc mates who cant afford prereq relics.

The problem with the price of materia is not inflation or deflation. Its Supply and Demand.

There is a huge demand for materia, more so now with 3star crafting and novus melding and not enough people actively making materia.

This means the few people that are selling can determine the price they want to sell it at it, rather than the market determining how much they want to pay.

People want Want WANT that materia to progress their novus and a few rich or hardworking players that have been saving their gil can afford to pay the new higher prices, so the people spiritbonding this materia will keep charging the higher prices!


If everyone and their uncle was spirit bonding the market would be flooded at the price would come down!

:EDIT: Players that dont have the gil to keep up with the existing wealthy population may well be turning to buying gil, but if the demand for buying gil was high the prices would be much higher. The more likely cause is endgame hardcore FC's that made lots of money mercing are the people at the fore front of this content spending their millions on materia.

TL;DR - Not a problem with gil sellers / inflation / deflation. Problem is supply and demand, not enough people spiritbonding cause it takes to long.

You always do what my FC does make or buy it for them. That's what FCs are for to help each other. If yoi on a new server and have over 100mil should I think you brought that gil? No I shouldn't I don't know how you acquired that gil. Same can be said about that fresh 50. Stop being a hypocrite. Also I doubt a fresh 50 would even have a zenith weapon.

As i said im 1 of 3 3star crafter on the server s selling each 3star piece for 1.5-2.5mil each piece. It adds up quick

I was thinking the same thing. I would never in a million years consider buying in game currency from anywhere at any price but damn, that's cheap as hell! 0_0 No wonder so many people cave and buy gil.
