Instanced Dungeons D/C Fail

Seriously guys?

I know you said beforehand that you'd be moved outside if you d/c'd. It returns you to the instance initially, so the server knows where you belong. Why the hell can't the party leader re-invite so you can re-enter?

This is seriously lame design, since the R50 dungeon is designed for 8, and it's not like the game has a stable client, or stable servers, or is in other ways totally free of defects that regularly cause people to crash/disconnect.

Way to fucking ruin it.

QQ more please. Either get better internet or don't attempt to try it the night the game gets patched and the servers have gone all to hell

Funny story... I have FiOS and the most stable connection of anyone I know. Unless there are server issues (p.s. entire groups have insta-d/c'd upon entering their instance and had to wait 5 mins to restart), I only crash due to DirectX errors or other problems with the game client.

There is no sane reason why they have to kick you out on d/c. It's just lazy game design. And it's the sort of crap that is not going to help FFXIV be competitive. I want it to be, I like this game. I want to participate in endgame. But if any number of factors outside of any of 8 players' control can completely tank a 1 hour attempt at a raid, something is seriously wrong.

i approve this post, please fix it so that we never get kick out of party zzzz

the game errored for me in dungeons so I agree the way dcs are handled are not right.

If they are scared of exploits make someone whos dced respawn at the start with weakness or something. But losing out on potentialy 40mins of work because of a "Server has encoutered an error and must shutdown" is a bad thing.

wow are you kidding me? this better be a bug because there is absolutely no reason to not be able to reinvite your party members from inside the dungeon.

Its *almost* like you people don't read ANY dev posts. Yoshi-P stated previously that this would be the behavior for now, but it could be adjusted later, along with timers, etc. If you people are so sour and cynical why don't you quit the game already?

the vast majority that started this game on release already have. sure why not send some more out. the servers will not stay open for just you to play on.

The lot of you are so damn impatient and have no grasp what-so-ever on what it takes to run or manage any software development project. All of the complainers have no sense of what it takes to even turn around a fail project either. oh wow attacking directly. listen closely i have been in game since day 1 and for the most part quiet until i recently became vocal as i watched more and more of my friends leave the game. i come into the forums and make a valid complaint and people just like you have to go and commit blatant tos violations by starting personal attacks.

let me remind you this game is getting close to its 1 year mark and the vast majority of players have already given up on this game ever getting better. i still had hope, and would make suggestions and the same group flamed everything that was said by people that actually played the game. the part about being patient held relevance months ago, but this is beyond patience you want. you want people to follow like sheep and hope that one day the game will get better.

btw, you know nothing more about what the game needs than anyone else as it is only your opinion. you have an opinion just like i do and your is just as relevant, but the personal attacks are not.

right before Ogre boss i errored out after going through a door....

This d/c crap needs fixed, including leves. Polish needs to be their focus.

Oh, and on my first run to the dungeon i was walking south of Dragonhead along the path and lagged for a second and fell through the ground:

As you can see in the video, i was in Coerthas and started running north to the Ishgard area when i entered the Darkhold while walking underneath all the textures/models. Eventually, i was able to move back onto the ground, but it was inside the Darkhold. No one else was around. No music, monsters or people.

So i warped back to Dragonhead and on the 2nd run there, it happened a 2nd time...

...this time (no video), i walked through the tunnels and was actually put right behind the NPC to enter the raid (but behind the fence, where you remain stuck unless you warp).


There's all sorts of little bugs like this all over the FF14 world. While it was cool in Alpha/Beta, it's starting to get rather annoying. I really hope they can polish this game.

You know what, this isn't a personal attack more so than it is my consistent disappointment in the community in general. I'm fed up of having to tolerate the endless regurgitation of people who endlessly complain without reason. I have been in this game 'before' day 1 back to the first closed beta. Additionally I work in software development and have been in the exact position Yoshi is in now. Having to clean up managerial messes created by a slew of ex-egomanicial managers.

There is a difference between opinion and pointless blathering without any form of constructive input. All you do is whine and complain and only point out any flaws without even bothering to point out any positive results. I'm my time I have seen the game evolve from a riddled buggy mess with constant server crashes, UI performance, problems, etc to where we are now. Maybe YOU don't like the direction of the game, but then why are you still here? If you hate the game and hate the direction that you see, then why are you even bothering to waste your time posting on the forums at all? Why bother? As you espoused in your earlier post, many people had left the game from the initial launch problems.

However because you are so blinded, what you are failing to realize with continual success with game balance changes, content and other patches, the community is coming back. Yes the game is getting close to the 1 year mark, but that does not make my point any less valid.

Much like you I still had hope and STILL DO have hope and patches like 1.18 continue to reinforce my optimism for the future. Patience still clearly relevant. As I waited, and I'm satisfied. The members in my LS are also satisfied an it sounds like a significant percentage of players on my server are satisfied. Eventually it will get to the point where the whiny, impatient portion of the community will become outcasts.

Also note I never said I know what is best for the game. But you continually assert that only your opinion is valid like you do know! Oh and anyone who doesn't agree with your perspective is also flamed. WOW. Seeing a pattern here? I'm obviously not the only one who feels this way about your posts.

I'm not following like sheep. I have had my share of issues with the game (Linkshell administration anyone?). But I also see things from a different perspective as a developer and project manager. Tanaka royally screwed the pooch and when a manager/director leads a project astray, it is NOT EASY TO FIX!

Well in all honesty, if its not working properly, and doesn't have all the intended features then just don't release it. I've seen and heard of so many player getting D/C and kicked from their run...its just ridiculous.

I've had it happen tonight as well. But see here is my problem: It was stated publicly that this would be the initial behavior until they work out instance server load issues. They know its an irritating limit but they WILL adjust it. The same goes for the timers.

let's say this one last time. i took the flaming for months because the repeated cussing and tos violations from certain members in this community the were constantly ignored by the staff. i finally had my fill of it and started stating my opinions whether they, you, or anyone else agreed with it. they are my opinions. i have stated quite clearly when there was something added to the game that i liked. i have given credit where i felt credit is due.

when i see something positive i say something positive. i was glad to see fatigue removed in this patch and the dungeons were put in place. that's all i will say positive about this patch because that is all i have found so far that i have liked. you don't have to like my opinion anymore than i do yours, but our opinions are just as equal value wise.

you cannot call someone out by name and claim it is not a personal attack.

Its a two way street my friend. You can not hide behind forum rules when you are guilty of just the same. I have mostly lurked and I've seen countless posts from you flaming or trolling others because of their opinions. Yes, opinions have worth, however when the opinion comes from a known forum troll/flamer then you completely discredit any opinions you wish to express.

oh you mean like my tos violation when i told someone they didn't have to act like a jerk after they told someone to go shoot themselves in the face? i still have that email. mine was removed responding to him, but his statement stayed up for almost a week afterwards.

Pretty unfortunate. However there are two sides to a story and yours is just one aspect. Based off your post history you have plenty of inflammatory troll posts. If you want better reactions to your posts and opinions you need to be more polite and diplomatic. However, like I stated, if you feel that way then why are you here?

no my point was i started fighting back after these types of things. i supported this game for the first few months. only within the last month or so have i started changing my opinions on the direction. if deciding i don't like the direction things are going and start standing up for myself makes me a troll then ,by all means, i am a troll. the thing is that makes you and everyone else on these forums a troll for the very same reason.

Yet you still insist on posting here. I'm trying to understand the psychology behind this. You hate the game, hate the direction, hate the forums. . .yet you're here. If you feel so abused or wronged by the mods or SE or anyone, then simply sign off to never return. Everything that exists in this patch has been outlined since January/February. There were polls with publicly published results that definitely displayed that the community wanted SE to take this direction. So if you feel disenfranchised: why are you here?
