Currently, from my findings, the best way to SB is held at just a few spots in Eorzea. Given the new need for Tier IV materias, I feel like more Spirit Binding spots should be available to us, so that people are not fighting over them, or entering Brayflox in full SB gear.

Personally, I think it would be faster to get some FC mates and jump into a Prae/Castrum run in full SB gear. Dungeon runs are way faster if you get the party together for it.

Ummmmmm... there's a really obvious place: Turn 3 of First Coil
Was always the best place to SB gear. It can be completed in ilvl70 and definitely less if you're being carried by people in i90+. SB party time. Also you'll need materia of all levels. Not just tier IV. -

I never have a problem finding a spot to spirit bond in the open world. I usually stick to the beastmen strongholds, or even the mobs outside CM/Cape Westwind. Yes the mobs take a tiny bit longer to kill, but it beats fighting over boars at Urth's Gift, which ends up taking much longer with more than one person/group there, which is 90% of the time.

Otherwise, there are already plenty of high level FATES to SB on, especially in Northern Thanalan. If you want to SB equipment ilvl70 or above super fast, it's going to be dungeons, Coil or CT. Thinking about it, i suppose it would be rather easy to form a party of 4 i55 SB minded individuals for bray. That would work indeed, but like i said i would like more to be outside of the DF.

06-06-2014, 06:09 AMWelsper59It's actually a rather slow task, and often an expensive one. Individual shards may not cost a whole lot (50-100gil per), but when synths take 3-6 per, it adds up a lot. So your end profit isn't exactly the greatest for the time you spend on it. You also have to include repair costs, which surprisingly adds up faster crafting than combat. Gathering is just dead slow from my experience. If your primary goal is materia gains, you're better off with combat.Quote:

The biggest advantage to SBing while crafting is that you don't have to be there. If you craft stuff for leve turn-ins, depending on what leves you do, you can more than make up for the shard cost and sometimes even get your materials back on top of that.
Obvious negative is that leves are finite. -

I normally go with two other (tank and heal, i dps as blm) to Northern Thanalan for spiritbond since its one of the place with highest lvl monsters. We usually have the tank get into the group of dalamud cultists (spot where dark device fate spawns), healer as whm will spam holy while i will be there to spam fire 2 and LB when it's up. Then move out to the ahriman area before getting back into the same spot when everything respawn there. Good spot for chocogrind too.
Otherwise like what others suggested, Turn 3 is the best way especially for when you are trying to bond ilvl70 items with a full party, or Wanderer's palace for anything lower.
