PUG just became the most boring DD job

No more heavy strike, worse restrictions on light strike, and auto attack is mainly your damage now... what were you thinking SE?

I'm beginning to wonder if SE actually tests this stuff before putting it out.

200mp for curaga? characters that don't run while changing active/passive mode. I mean seriously you guys are trying to make this game to where you can eventually charge for it. I think you guys dug a little too deep on this one.

Also, sorry if this comes off as a flame but it's getting tiring seeing things go the opposite way when you wait for a game to come out for more than a year and you get this.

Don't forget how auto attack seems to take longer and make the game seem like you're waiting for anything to happen. It seems like they're just trying to make everything take forever artificially with the huge cities, non running active/passive switch, now the slow-clunky combat. It seems they're going the wrong direction if they want me to pay for the game when they start charging. I officially liked 1.17 better as I actually liked it. I love watching a game play itself.

I didn't like the combat system in FF11 so I never bought it. I now regret buying 14.

I don't think you've properly experienced PUG if you are really R18...

ya you can't really enjoy pug at 18 lol but auto attack does make my gameplay boring before it was much fun i was part of doing something more then waiting for tp ; ;

Well, i'm PGL 50 and agree with OP. The battle now is EXTREMELY boring...it just killed the game. PGL is boring, MRD is dead...all fun from battle was removed...now all you do is wait and watch. I hope thse who wanted so bad auto-attack are happy now...

Did everyone want auto attack? and now we complain about it? I said from day one they should never have added auto attack but did people listen na they just want Auto attack so they can talk and watch tv -.-

just a hint here 1.18 is just the first update 1.19 and 1.20 would fix all the issue. when they remove physical this is when our class going to work better. Top of that class are no longer for party when they add jobs in 1.20 we have to switch to jobs and maybe that would bring back the fun "fucking hoping to god here come on SE don't fail now"

I never supported AA. I knew it would be a major letdown to this game...but now all i can do is to point people and say "I told you."

Hopefully we will have an 1.18a in 2 weeks or so to start balancing stuff...because right now its just sad seeing the game current situation.

PUG did get boring at least from trying last night lol. Doesn't fit how pug just stands there and jabs few times, wanted more Jackie Chan, Jet Lee, Bruce Lee kind of action lolol... anyways AA was needed in this game one way or another imo and they finally got it in, they need to fix/modify lots of stuff though.

30 sec for some of the PUG actions don't seem right to me, as before with action bar, it was pretty much instant. But at same time I didn't see how much damage increase that skill did carefully so can't say too much yet. And also the MP cost on some standard PUG attacks doesn't make sense, I understand the cost but if it's going to use MP it should have a reason to it, like Red Lotus (Fire) or PUG's ground skill (Earth) I'm on JP client so don't know the correct English names... but then other FF series did have skills/abilities that uses MP for non-element... so I guess...

Indeed. Its one of the things i might be suggesting them as balance. Classes need a new basic attack with 2~3 recast time...even if use MP to hit. They need to keep in mind having stuff with 30 sec~1 min recast is a tremendous stupidity and that it breaks the frenetic battle way the old battle system had, leaving just a boring "wait and watch" fight...

It doesn't matter what level I am. This update made me not want to experience PUG.

i really dont understand why they removed the basic usability of the jobs, the flurry mechanic was entertaining, and being able to be defensive with light strike and pummel to keep your tp high while waiting was fun. They could have made it stance based or something, now 3 jobs had most of thier uniqueness drained and all are completely slaves to tp. Using peirce on lnc made it fun, trying to get the right angle and hit the monsters, and mrd without basic aoe doesnt even have a little bit of balance.

Supposedly they want to make classes unique, but without the basic skills, all dd is just wait for tp and spam as many weaponskills as possible

they need to add some basic mechanical uniqueness to the classes, so that playing a pug is differnt than playing a mrd and lnc with different tp gain skills. I cant imagine that mrd is balanced with 4 second swings with weapons that do lower dmg than lnc.

i just dont understand it.... 30-60 seconds for a basic attack? it makes no sense.
