HELP....Brayflox FLOP

I need help plzzzzz. I am trying to tank Brayflox and have failed 6 times. I am Lv 37 with Lv 30 gear. I have seen some great tank work for this dungeon and have tried to emulate with no success! I am losing some of my pulls with a full hate bar? Don't know why and this contributes to the problems sometimes. I have even resorted to Flashing every 3 turns. I also seem to be made of paper. Also, are their certain enemies I should target first?

Tired of being called a sucky tank. I am no pro but I am not that bad either.

Any advice would be appreciated. Tired of needing vallum after playing this dungeon!!!

1. Upgrade your gear
2. Get to be Paladin in case you are not, yet.
3. Mark target to let dps focus on the mob you are attacking,
rotate combo to each mobs (press tab) to seal hate from healer but more attack on focus'ed target. Flash occassionally.
4. If you still feel fragile, ask WHM/BLM to sleep mobs.

Did you unlock your job?
Did you do your level 30-35 quests for your job?
Make sure your gear is up to date. At level 35, you have acess to Heavy Steel armor. Make or buy a set of that. Also, make sure your jewelry is good. A full set of VIT jewelry adds a few hundred HP.
I'm assuming you're PLD. Shield Oath is level 40. Once you get it, you should have no troubles keeping on top of Hate Mountain. You may have to tell the DPS to slow down a bit because you don't have your Enmity stance.

It can help on PLD to move from monster to monster applying your Rage of Halone combo on each on top of Flashing. Be sure you're riding your defensive cooldowns as well if you have more than 3-4 monsters per pull. Since you won't have Shield Oath yet for this dungeon you may want to keep the pulls smaller. Keep Sword Oath on at all times since you don't have Shield Oath and Sword Oath doesn't take away from your defensive ability. The first two bosses are self explanatory really in terms of tanking. Final Boss you want to keep moving it so it doesn't regen health standing in the green pools of acid spit.

Not really keep moving but make sure to drag it out of the green pools if they form under him. Also be aware that the pools area of effect is slightly bigger than what is displayed by their graphic.

If you have a Black Mage and/or White Mage, request they sleep the dragonflies. They hit too hard to tank straight up.

Level 35+ gear should help you do better as long as you use the Halone combo on each monster in each group. If you know someone who can craft the armor, by all means ask them.

Tanking Aiatar is really a matter of paying attention to where you are, anticipating where those pools of poison will land, and dragging him away from them. Tanking around the edge of the area is a common way to keep Aiatar honest.

What server are you on? It could be a number of things that are causing problems, maybe even not entirely your fault.

I wouldn't mind running brayflox on my healer to help you out.

maybe you only have some downscaled ilvl 100 dds with far superior dps then the usual lvl 30 guys

I've never seen a tank in a low ini who was able to hold hate in that case

That shouldn't matter, low level dungeon level sync syncs the gear stats too NQ i think, the difference might be if the tank isn't wearing the best jewelry up to that point and updated left side gear as well.

Fate level sync doesn't adjust the stats on the gear itself lol, I can now solo tank all the boss fates by myself :p

Get rid of all those dex/str accessories and get VIT ones.
Level marauder, foresight and blood bath may be minor, but they still help.
Try to upgrade gear to all ilvl35

Absolutely this. Just looked at your character, and nearly all your accessories are meant for Bards. Get some Tanking accessories, the ones with VIT and STR. Not the ones with DEX.

As mentioned, none of your accessories are meant for tanking. Make sure you have sword oath up and use flash generously. Don't allow yourself to get hit from behind as you'll take considerable more damage.

First man you need to get the pld quest at uldah and do the 30 and 35 your character also get the sub jobs to which are marauder and conjurer and use moves as foreight and bloobath. and always try to tank against a wall to avoid cones attacks to your group and use provoke to the enemy that gets away from you also shield lob the enemies when youfirst pull them and flash them 3 times to get hate and flash after 20 secs if you still not generating enough hatealso sworth oath and fight or flight should aslo help since doing more dmg is another factor of getting hate it get easier at 40 when you get shield oath hope that helps a lil

Something doesn't scale completely. When we have scaled lvl 50s in our runs, they always take threat from the tank with ease. My son is a paladin tank and has no problem with people of the correct level, but get a high level monk or bard scaled down and their hate is insane. This also happens if I go into a dungeon with other tanks and we have a high lvl monk or bard that has been scaled so it is not my son. I've noticed it in all dungeons up to Brayflox which is the last one I ran ( soooooo many times to get the infantry gear on my bard. That tunic took over 30 runs to appear o_O ). I also notice if I do a low level dungeon like Sastasha or Tam Tara on my 40 bard that the hate I generate is insane too.

i haven't got a pld class anyone said what the 2nd class for pld is?? might help and I'm not sure!!

I've never had trouble holding hate from people in coil gear. I know when I looked at my gear all stats were synced, and fate syncing doesn't sync stats.

The only thing that could be happening is maybe the weapon dmg is synced to HQ or something.

When I leveled war which was after pld, I always made sure I was up to date as possible gear and weapon wise. A couple of dmg points on a weapon can literally make or break you. I remember tanking post 50 dungeons with my bravura against blm's using their i90 relic, and was having some trouble when they went crazy.

Haven't had any issues in synced dungeons though (. _.)
