just as the patch notes say there is new music! just logged in at camp broken water and its sounding great!

Please, please please! Tell me Twilight over Thanalan is still there. I can't log in now!!! T.T

Yeppers. They changed it to one of the marches. I recognize it, but don't think it was used elsewhere prior. It does at least fit with Limsa's music. I do hope they use the old music somewhere, I liked it myself.

Sooo many tracks in the game files they harldy use ever, so its nice they are changing them up a bit. I doubt its brand new.

OMG, lovelovelove! Black Shroud's new music!! The old music was okay the first few times since it was a huge creepy dark forest to a brand new player, but it really got old after a while. But this... love it ^_^

The whole sound track to this game is one of Nobuo Uematsu's best works, which is saying something.
I'm happy if the humungous starter zones see more than one main theme, but i don't want to see any of the songs taken out of the game...

Except maybe the market wards... but, that one is kind of cool too, for where it is. xD

Wow the music transitions very smoothly in the Black shroud, old music is still in play near Humblehearth.

It's new to the game, I believe. I'm sure it'll be up on YouTube shortly.

Highly doubt it's new it will be one of the over 70 tracks to this game many of which are not used.

I've been listening to the game's soundtrack since it was "leaked" via the beta testing. Trust me, it's new.

Wish I could hear it. Darned server crash... When I was in Thanalan though, I heard no music at all.

The Grand Companies is new. I have heard the leaked tracks, and I don't recall hearing it before.

I wouldnt know, since my server and other servers went down :D. I mean... :(

The Uldah Grand Company has a very ffxi feel to it. I dig it! Havent gotten a chance to hear the black shroud yet due to the crashes.

So I just got on and in the Black Shroud, and I can guarantee that this track is in the OST.

It's the theme that I originally thought would be for Sharlayan. I'm assuming this is either going to be temporary like the new music in La Noscea, or that they're going to be making new music for the new zones.

Still a good track though.

EDIT - The music for the companies however, is totally new. Doesn't sound very Uematsu though...

Indeed! I love it! It sort of feels like a cross between FFXI's Ronfaure and Sanctuary of Zi'tah themes, but more reverent. It helps reinforce that for the Gridanians, this is the Twelveswood.

Twilight over Thanalan still plays in the r1 to r20 areas. Mistbeard Cove's theme (the "new" Thanalan music) plays in Halitali and other high rank areas I believe.

The Black Shroud's new theme fades back to the original in the r30+ areas (I think, such as on the way to Sorrel Haven), same with La Noscea's new theme. Nanawa Mines and other old indoor areas don't seem to have new themes. Haven't checked Copperbell and Tam-Tara

I haven't had the chance to check out the new music, but has there been any confirmation as to who the composer for them is? I'm really hoping they stuck with Uematsu :)

I wouldn't be surprised if they had other composers working on FFXIV now. Even FFXI had multiple people.

The new BGM for the Hall of Flames (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IW2qCWA04Q) doesn't really sound like something composed by Uematsu. Like the lone comment on the video states, it really does sound like something right out of Final Fantasy Tactics.

To be honest when i first logged in i didn't even know the music had been changed. The dungeon music was great but after doing the dungeon 20+ times i just had to turn my sound off. Give me a playlist SE, until then its back to listening to Joe Satriani on the ipod.

to everyone that liked the old tracks, they still get used in specific areas in their regions so they arent lost^~^.
i like some of the new tracks alot thou, its pretty neat that they accentuate areas with different music now
