Just downloaded patch1.18...Let the bugs begin....

A way to start my first post....this is not gonna be my last...Well after waiting for this patch to download...sign on and....

13001 The Lobby Server has encountered an error, Error code 1015, Status 0

Same here. The servers are down? Why would they release the patch only to have the servers down? Aren't those downloads run off the same servers?

1015 is usually due to the servers not being up.

Maybe they want it to be fair for people like me with download speed of 5-9KB/s?:D
Don't worry, I'm sure you will be able to play as soon as I will - in 10 or 12 hours.

Shouldn't the servers be up already since 2 hours ago?

Darn ... should have used the same slow patcher as everyone else.. and to think I was talking crap to my friends with my 900kbp/s download :(

They should be up in 5 minutes afaik.

Does Square-Enix have any experience making videogames? Why are they making these mistakes?

It was posted in the information section that the servers would be down until 8:30 PM EST (at the earliest). That is in about 3 minutes.

It's not S-E's fault that you didn't look at the information.

Not many bright ones in here it seems. As Coldfire has said the world servers aren't yet up. Patches are normally always released during a games downtime so that when the game is back up people can just log right in and play. If they waited for all server to be up and then permit people to download the patch nobody would be logging in for a long time due to everybody and their mother hammering the system.

In short this is nothing new, most online games do this.

Damn guys...and I was trying to find a fault in every patch release...I thought I found one :P

Okay it's official... this patch broke the game xD

I got into the character select a couple times but I can't get past that screen. It's like the Alpha version all over again! :(

I'm glad its not just me having this problem. LOL I finished downloading the patch and got to the main menu and this pops up~ :eek:

same here...this is frustrating...5hrs downloading the patch and now i can't even get to character screen...come on! >_<

I got in for like 10 or 15 minutes till it booted me again lol i'm just gonna give it a rest for 12 hours and let the tech people deal with it.

Yeah been looking forward to trying out these patch changes, given the alpha, beta, and ffxi experience behind me i really don't know why i thought i'd be playing tonight. Oh well, my 360 has been lonely for a while now :p

even more entertaining, I was silly enough that in the 45sec I did get to log in, I was like "Hey, let's try the new return function for no anima cost!"

That was a really bright idea...

I've been looking at the patcher saying for the past 5 hours

Upload speed: 800kbs

Download speed: 0.0kbs

... FU SE stop using me as a server!

Totally expected this.....lol.. I'm /laughing and /crying.. I finished installing the updates and it kept erroring me out. So I restarted my pc and for some reason it corrupted my system 32 folder and I had to reformat.. Oh fun..

That used to happen with FF11 if you canceled out while it was installing an update. It would blow up something within your windows dir.

Yea great.. Best part is now I'm reinstalling the updates and I can't get above 20kb because people keep stopping their downloads, trying to get the fast speeds. Just let the F*&^ing thing do it's job people! stop restarting the download and it'd be done already for all of us..

Blah, still getting the error. Oh well, kinda expected it.
