Do I have to be in a free company to buy a house?

Pretty much the title. Do I have to be in a free company, or can I buy my own personal house?

Currently you have to be in a FC and is the master (or have rights) to buy a plot, personal house will come in future patch.

Did SE already confirm personal housing?

I think they did say at one point that you can have a personal house (either on own plot or linked with an FC) but on when it will be release I'm not sure. Most likely within the next couple major updates.

They said they want to test how personal rooms in FC houses work before releasing personal housing. So no idea the timeframe.

Personal rooms at FC states: patch 2.28 (4-5 June) patch 2.3
Personal housing: not confirmed officially (as far as I know)

I thought they said personal housing was being implemented in 2.3? Maybe I'm getting confused with the personal rooms.

But yes, we will be getting personal housing eventually.

I would have to wonder how you intend to purchase a house solo anyway. They're rather expensive!

We don't know yet how expensive they'll be. All we've been told so far is that they'll be less expensive than FC houses (which still leaves a lot of room for being expensive for a single character).

I can't wait to see personal rooms become available. I kind of miss the mog-house type setting in xi where I could decorate it however I want.

I can't wait so I can get rid of the bedroom areas in the FC house and have a lot more space!

The last amount given was about 850k, but that it was still being looked at and so could change. (from an old interview, but Ive seen a few different versions of what the sentence about 850k says)
